The Difference and Countermeasure of Compulsory Education in China and UK
班级:英11102 姓名:肖姗学号:201100578 Abstract: Chinese education can be divided into four parts, namely primary schools,
middle schools,high schools, and universities. Chinese compulsory education includes primary school education and junior high school education. And Chinese students would have nine years of compulsory education. The education system provides free primary education for six years, starting at age seven or six. And after that students will have the secondary education for eight to twelve years old. During this time, there are three years of middle school and three years of high school. The goal of nine years of compulsory education was established in 2000. The UK is one of the developed countries in the world; it has powerful economic strength, good education which attracts many people from all over the world to study abroad there. In this essay, I’d like to make a comparison of compulsory education between China and UK. By comparison, we can see the similarities and differences between the two countries and know that there’s still something we can take action to promote our education.

Compulsory education in china
China is the great nation with glorious history and cultural traditions. In China, education is always an important part of people’s life.A good education has always been highly valued in china ,as the people believe that education ensures the future of individual .The education is divided into three categories: basic education, higher education, and adult education. The Compulsory Education Law of stipulates that each child has nine years of formal education. Students enter a primary school, secondary school, college and university and then get degrees. Students study English, Chinese, math as their major courses, and then study biology, geography, history, politic, physical, chemistry and PE. As Chinese students, they have too much stress. They must study hard. The most attractive point in Chinese education system is that Chinese people emphasize the traditional knowledge, which makes the students have a solid foundation. It is obvious that children in our country learn more in the childhood. But the western students learn slowly. Many schools manage the whole students strictly. Moreover, a large number of teachers are serious and responsible. Students are concentrated in the class and own strong knowledge. It is important for students to have creativity in society after they graduate. It is common that teachers in schools emphasize book knowledge, promote rote, use a standard answer, do a lot of
