Electrical/Electronic Centers
Electrical/electronic centers are the key enablers to an optimized system. We direct all the complexity of the electrical system into the centers. From there, we are able to simplify the overall electrical/electronic system design.

Delphi's electrical/electronic centers are the key to electrical/
electronic optimization.
Delphi Packard Electric Systems is the world leader in the design, development, validation, manufacturing, and testing of power and signal distribution systems (PASDS). Our total systems approach to vehicle electrical systems and electrical/electronic center
technology allows us to dramatically increase the opportunities for improving the quality and performance of the entire vehicle electrical system.
Optimization Is the Result of Combining a T otal Systems Approach with the Right T echnology
Today’s automotive content may require up to 40electrical subsystems. This complexity, coupled with a reduction in available space, create a need to optimize the vehicle’s electrical system. To achieve that optimization, Delphi Packard Electric’s systems engineers perform detailed studies to thoroughly analyze the entire electrical system of the vehicle. The results for vehicle manufacturers are reduced cost and improved reliability based on simpler wiring assembly
designs and increased design flexibility.
Unlock the Door to Tailored Optimization Electrical/Electronic Centers
T he primary purpose of electrical/electronic centers is to provide a centralized location for
electrical power and signal distribution and the associated circuit protection and switching devices. By combining fuse and relay centers, splices, and harness-to-harness interconnects in centralized, adaptable packages, we are able to reduce the complexity of the remaining wiring system.
Delphi Packard’s electrical/electronic centers are designed in a variety of configurations and tailored to meet customer-specific applications to most effectively simplify wire routing. With all of this capability and flexibility, electrical/electronic centers become the key component in optimizing the vehicle electrical system.
Most vehicles require at least two electrical/ electronic centers. This is dependent upon the level of electrical options, wiring system architecture, and vehicle packaging requirements. Common locations are under the hood, in the instrument panel, and in the trunk. The specific locations are often a function of available space, vehicle assembly sequence, device serviceability, and the natural partitioning of the wiring system.

Delphi Packard Electric engineers use customized software to aid in the layout and design of electrical/electronic centers. This specially developed software allows our systems engineers to take a customer schematic and quickly translate it into a proposed electrical/electronic center, while ensuring circuit integrity and quality of design.
