Unit 7 How much are these socks?
The 1st Period (Section A, 1a–2d)

1. Learn these words and be able to say, read, and write these words:
how much, sock, T-shirt, shorts, sweater, trousers, shoe, skirt, dollar
2. Be able to ask about prices and talk about clothing:
How much is this T-shirt? It’s seven dollars.
How much are these socks? They’re two dollars.
Teaching focus:
能够熟练使用How much引导的特殊疑问句询问价格
Teaching steps:
Step 1: Warm-up and revision
(1)Listen to the color song: “What colors do you like?”
(2)Ask Ss to speak out the words of the colors in the song and try to spell them.
教学设计说明:通过听歌看歌词复习已学过的表颜色的单词。为下一步谈论衣物做准备。
Step 2: Presentation
Show pictures to present the new words: sweater, T-shirt, socks, shoes, trousers, shorts
T: What’s this in English? (Show a picture of a jacket)
S: It’s a jacket.
T: What color is it?
S: It’s green.
(Teacher helps the Ss to answer:T: It’s a white hat. It’s a green jacket.)
Continue presenting the other new words in this way.

Step 3: Work on 1a
(1) T: Now, please open your books and turn to page 37. Look at 1a. You can see a picture of a store and some words we learned just now. Please match the words with the things in the picture.
(2) Check the answers.
(3) Ask some Ss to read aloud the words.
(4)Play the Mime game.

Step 4: Work on 1b
(1) T: Listen and circle the things you hear in the picture in 1a.
(2) Get the Ss to guess what the questions mean.
(3) Teach Ss how to ask about prices.
(帮助学生了解货币单位“人民币Yuan”和“美元dollar”的用法)
教学设计说明:通过图片和情景,学生可以很容易地猜测出本课句型的意思。学生也能模仿例子很
容易地进行类似的对话。要让学生们注意什么时候用单数,什么时候用复数。
Step 5: Practice
(1) Let the Ss look at the picture in 1a and ask & answer between T and Ss using the sentence patterns: “How much is/are …?”“It’s …. / They’re ….”
(2) Show some pictures of clothing with prices and get Ss to practice the sentence patterns group by group.
(3) Pair works.
A. 信息差表格对话活动(Paper中的第3小题)
Ask and answer in pairs like the sample that T has demonstrated. Check the answers.
B. Make their conversations in pairs. Ask some pairs to present their conversation to the class.

①参照左下图中的衣柜对其衣服的分区,把学过的有关服装的单词归类

教学反思:本节公开课基本完成本节课的教学目标,但由于时间把控上的不足,部分教学设计没有得以展开。经过教研室和初中部英语科组的点评后,使我受益匪浅,我不仅获得了不少的经验以及教学方法,而且还了解到了自己的不足之处:1、单词导入时间较长。2、在mime这个游戏中可以把小蜜蜂的麦克风拿下来,让学生更能看清楚教师的嘴型以便知道教师读的是哪一个单词。3、教师在纠正学生发音过后,要及时调整为正常语音语调和语速。4、pair work活动中要给予学生更多的提示和帮助,防止像本节课那样出现学生不明白教师的活动指令等情况。
