It can be inferred/ concluded that___________.Which of the following conclusions can we draw according to the passage? In which of the following publication would this passage most likely be printed? The passage implies, but doesn't directly state that___________.The writer suggests that___________.What's the author's attitude toward___________?The writer probably feels that___________.The author uses the examples of... to show that___________.

1) The word “ABC” in the passage probably means .2) The underlined word “ABC” in the passage refers to/means .3) Which of the following is closest in meaning to the underlined word in the second paragraph?4) The underlined sentence in the last paragraph means .5) The word "it(them)" in the first paragraph refers to .

1. We can infer/assume from this passage/paragraph___2. The story suggests/implies that .3. The writer of this passage intends to .4. The writer’s purpose of writing the passage is to .5. The passage is probably taken from a .6. The writer of the passage considers it .7. Which of the following best describes the character of .8. What would the author probably discuss in the paragraph that follows?9. The writer’s attitude toward is .

(A)I was blind, but I was ashamed of it if it was known. I refused to use a white stick and hated asking for help. After all, I was a teenage girl, and I couldn’t bear people to look at me and think I was not like them. I must have been a terrible danger on the roads. Coming across me wandering through the traffic, motorists probably would have to step rapidly on their brakes. Apart from that, there were all sorts of disasters that used to occur on the way to and from work. One evening, I got off the bus about halfway home where I had to change buses, and as usual I ran into something. “I’m awfully sorry,” I said and stepped forward only to run into it again. When it happened a third time, I realized I had beenapologizing to a lamppost. This was just one of the stupid things that constantly happened to me. So I carried on and found the bus stop, which was a request stop, where the bus wouldn’t stop, unless passengers want to get on or off. No one else was there and I had to try to guess if the bus had arrived.Generally in this situation, because I hated showing I was blind by asking for help, I tried to guess at the sound. Sometimes I would stop a big lorry and stand there feeling stupid as it drew away. In the end, I usually managed to swallow my pride and ask someone at the stop for help. But on this particular evening on one joined me at the stop: It seemed that everyone had suddenly decided not to travel by bus. Of course I heard plenty of buses pass, or I thought I did. But because I had given up stopping them for fear of making a fool of myself, I let them all go by. I stood there alone for half an hour without stopping one. Then I gave up. I decided to walk on to the next stop.1.The girl refused to ask for help because she thought______.A. she might be recognizedB. asking for help looked sillyC. she was normal and independentD. being found blind was embarrassing2.What was the problem with guessing at the sound to stop a bus?A.Other vehicles also stopped thereB.It was unreliable for making judgments.C.More lorries than buses responded to the girl.D.It took too much time for the girl to catch the bus.3.Finally the girl decided to walk to the next stop, hoping_____.A.to find people thereB.to find more bused thereC.to find the bus by herself thereD.to find people more helpful there(B)In many countries the standard of living enjoyed by their people had increased rapidly in recent years. Sadly, not everyone in these countries is so fortunate and many people in rich countries are homeless. The reasons for homelessness are various, but poverty is undoubtedly one of the main causes. The homeless people may have become jobless and then been unable to pay their rent and so no longer have a roof over their heads. Often, the fact that unemployed people get help from the government prevents this from happening, but not always. Some cynics(愤世嫉俗的人) declare that homeless people choose to live the lifewhich they lead. But who would willingly choose to live in a shop doorway, under a bridge or in a cardboard box?4. It can be inferred from the text that .A. you will not find homeless people in countries with a high standard of livingB. the mental ill live on the street because they want the company of otherhomeless peopleC. the unemployed who receive help may still be among the homelessD. the homeless are willing to live under a bridge or in a cardboard box(C)Before the widespread use of computers, managers could not make full use of large amounts of valuable information about a company’s activities. Today, managers are facing a wide range of data processing and information instruments. ···The information provided by these systems helps managers compare standards with actual results, find out problems, and take corrective action before it is too late to make changes.···One research found that business firms were more successful in teaching basic information about computers to business graduates than they were in teaching business subjects to computer science graduates.5. All of following statements are true EXCEPT that .A. computer is a great help for business managementB. With the help of computers, company managers are now more informed ofwhat’s going on in their companies.C. computerized information enables managers to take timely measures to preventpossible mistakes.D. computer science graduates are quick to learn business subjects because of theirprofessional knowledge about computers.(D)Planning a visit to the UK? Here we help with ways to cut your costs.Avoid Big Events Big sporting events, concerts and exhibitions can increase the cost of accommodation and make it hard to find a room. A standard double room at the Thistle Brighton on the final Friday of the Brighton ComedyFestival (19 Oct.) cost $169.15 Booking. Com. A week later, the same room cost $118.15If you can be flexible and want to know dates to avoid--- or you’re looking fora big event to pass your time---- check out sites such as , which allow you to search for events in the UK by city , date and category.6.

提问中含有表示推测的情态动词,如can,could,might,would等和其他表示可能性的动词,如probably,most likely等。

1. It can be inferred / concluded from the passage that …2. The passage suggests / implies that …3. The author may probably agree with / support …4. By the first sentence of the second paragraph, the author means …5. T he author seems to be in favour of / be against …6. The author’s purpose of writing this passage is…

1:When she looked ahead. Florence Chadwick saw nothing but a solid wall of fog. Her body was numb. She had been swimming for nearly sixteen hours. Already she was the first woman to swim the English Channel in both directions. Now at the age of 34, her goal was to become the first woman to swim from Catalina to the California coast. On that fourth of July morning 1952, the sea was like an ice bath and the fog was so dense. She could hardly see her support boats. Sharks cruised toward her figure, only to be driven away by rifle shots. Against the frigid grip of the sea, she struggled on, hour after hour, while millions watched on national television.Alongside Florence in one of the boats, her mother and here trainer offered encouragement. They told her it wasn’t much f arther. But all she could see was fog. They urged her not to quit. She never had… until then. With only a half mile to go, she asked to be pulled out. What does “she never had…”in the third paragraph mean?A. She had never been so desperate.B. She had never thought of giving it up.C. She had never seen such thick fog.D. She had never swum across the strait before.解析:根据上下文they urged her not to quit,以及with only a half mile to go, she asked to be pulled out.

2:Decision-thinking is not unlike poker--- it often matters not only what you think , but also what others think you think and what you think they think you think . The mental process(过程)is similar . Naturally , this card game has often been of considerable interest to people who are , by any standards , good thinkers .The great mathematician John von Neumann was one of the founders of game theory . In particular , he showed that all games fall into two classes ; there are what he called games of ‘perfect information’, games like chess where the players can't hide anything or play tricks ; they don't win by chance , but by means of logic and skills . Then there are games of ‘imperfect information’, like poker, in which it is impossible to know in advance that one course of action is better than another. One mistaken idea about business is that it can be treated as a game of perfect information. Quite the reverse, business, politics, life itself are games which we must normally play with very imperfect information. Business decisions are often made with many unknown and unknowable factors(因素), which would ever puzzle best poker players . But few business people find it comfortable to admit that they are taking a chance , and many still prefer to believe that they are playing chess , not poker. An important factor in a game of imperfect information is _______.A. rulesB. luckC. timeD. ideas解析:短文第二段有这样一段说明:……

1)It can be inferred from the passage that __________.2)What conclusion can be drawn from the passage?3)From the passage we can conclude that __________.

1:Do you always understand the directions on a bottle of medicine? Do you know what is meant by “Take only as directed?” Read the following directions and see if you understand them. “To reduce pain, take two tablets(药片)with water, followed by one tablet every eight hours, as required. For night-time and early morning relief (缓解疼痛)take two tablets at bedtime. Do not take more than six tablets in twenty-four hours. For children six to twelve years old, give half the amount (量). For children under six yearsold, ask your doctor's advice. Reduce the amount if you suffer from restlessness or sleeplessness after taking the medicine.”It can be inferred from the directions that this medicine__________.A. helps you to fall asleep quicklyB. may be dangerous to small childrenC. cannot be taken if one feels sleepyD. shouldn't be taken by children under six解析:所有的选项都是针对文章的,所以要通读全文后进行判断。
