The Times(泰晤士报). ( read by the middle class British people) It often reflects the view held by the Government and politically it is more sympathetic with the Conservative Party. (保守党) .it has a reputation for its cautiousness in its attitudes.(被誉为“英国社会的 忠实记录者”)

It inclines towards the Left wing Labour Party . The New Statesman is Britain’s leading, best written and most authoritative weekly political, cultural and current affairs magazine.

New Society（新社会） is another periodical with many articles by university sociologist and economists about social problems.
The British Broadcasting Corporation is in charge of all sound broadcasting in Britain . The BBC is managed by the Board of Governors appointed by the Government . It is mainly financed by payments which must be made by all the people who have television receiving sets , so there is no advertising on the BBC program ,either sound or television . For advertising , there are independent television arranged by various companies for commercial purposes.
