And after her death, because of her strong will and outstanding contribution touched the whole world, people everywhere to commemorate her activities. 海伦凯勒⼈物贡献 Helen Keller is committed to socialism, from her special experience as a disability, and her sympathy for other disabled people. At first, she simplified the alphabet to make it suitable for people with disabilities; but she soon realized that a simple solution to the problem of blindness was a temporary solution. Through the study she found that blind people are not randomly distributed in a variety of people, but concentrated in the bottom of society. The poor are more likely to be blind due to production accidents or lack of adequate treatment. Some poor people become prostitutes, the addition of a syphilis caused by the risk of blindness. Thus, Keller recognized that the social class system controls the fate of a person's life, and sometimes even decide whether they will be blind. Keller 's study is not a zaiban: "I visited the candy shop, factory, shantytown, and even if I could not see it, I heard it. Helen Keller as a socialist, started in 1909. In 1909, she joined the Massachusetts Social Party. As early as before graduating from Radcliffe College, she was a social activist. She himself stressed that this was not due to any education received there. After the outbreak of the Russian revolution, she praised the new communist country, "In the East, a rising star! In the painful struggle, the new order was born from the old order." In the east, The baby was born! Comrades, Qi forward! Run to the campfire in Russia! Welcome to the dawn! "Keller hung a red flag at the top of her desk. "Later, she gradually became the left wing of the Socialist Party and became a member of Wobbly, the World Federation of IndustrialWorkers, a coalition of syndicalists persecuted by Woodrow Wilson. When Keller became a socialist, she was a famous woman of the world. But she soon became discredited, because of the shift to socialism, which led to a new public opinion storm. Those who once praised her courage and wisdom of the newspaper, instead of emphasizing her disability. Columnists have accused her of having no independent sensory acceptance and are subject to those who instilled in her thoughts. The most typical is the editor of the Brooklyn Eagle. He wrote that Keller's "error stems from the obvious defects of her physical development." Keller recalls that she had seen the editor. I was embarrassed, but now that I stand up to support socialism, he reminds me and the public that I am a deaf and blind person who is particularly error-prone. Probably, since I had seen him, my brain was shrinking. "She went on to say:" Oh, "the Brooklyn Eagle" is too funny, it is deaf and blind on social issues, it maintains a difficult We are trying to prevent blindness, and this system is the root cause of most blind deafness. Keller's second generation is largely committed to raising funds for the American Blind Foundation, and she believes that our society needs a radical change that has never been shaken. She supported the socialist presidential campaign of Eugene V Debbs. She also published articles on women's movement, politics and economy. In his later years, she wrote to the American Communist Party leader, Elizabeth G. Flynn, who was the victim of the McCarthy era, who was in prison during the years: "Dear Elizabeth Flynn, the best birthday Blessing! Willing to serve the good feelings of mankind for your fearless mind to bring strength and tranquility!。

Helen Keller once wrote about these early days. One beautiful spring morning I was alone in my room, reading. Suddenly a wonderful smell in the air made me get up and put out my hands . The spirit of spring seemed to be passing in my room. "What is it?"I asked. The next minute I knew it was coming from mimosa tree outside. I walked outside to the edge of the garden, toward the tree. There it was, shaking in the warm sunshine. Its long branches, so heavy with flowers, almost touched the ground. I walked through the flowers to the tree itself and then just stood silent. Then I put my foot on the tree and pulled myself up into it. I climbed higher and higher until I reached a little seat. Long ago someone had put it there. I sat for a long time... Nothing in all the world was like this.Later Helen learned that nature could be cruel as well as beautiful. Strangely enough she discovery this in a different kind of tree. One day my teacher and I were returning from a long walk. It was a fine morning but it started to get warm and heavy. We stopped to rest two or three times. Our last stop was under a cherry tree, a short way from our house. The shade was nice andthe tree was easy to climb. Miss Sullivan climbed with me. It was so coot up in the tree, we decided to have lunch there. I promised to sit still until she went to the house for some food. Suddenly a change came over the tree. I knew the sky was black because all the heat which meant light to me had died out of the air. A strange odor came up to me from the earth . I knew it. It was the odor which always comes before a thunder storm. I felt alone, cut off from friends, high above the firm earth. I was frightened and wanted my teacher. wanted to get down from that tree quickly, but I was no help to myself. There was a moment of' terrible silence. Then a sudden and violent wind began to shake the tree and its leaves kept coming down all around me. I almost fell. I wanted to jump, but was afraid to do so. I tried to make myself small in the tree as the branches rubbed against me. Just us I thought that both the tree and I were going to fall, a hand touched me . It was my teacher. I held her with all my strength, then shook with joy to feel the solid earth under my feet.Miss Sullivan stayed with Helen for many year. She taught Helen how to read, how to write and how to speak. She helped her to get ready for school and college. More than anything, Helen wanted to do what others did, and do it just as well. In time Helen did go to college and completed her studies with high honors. But it was a hard struggle. Few of the books she needed were written in the Braille language that the blind could read by touching pages. Miss Sullivan and others had to teach her what was in these books by forming words in her hands. The study of geometry and physics was especially difficult. Helen could only learn about squares, triangles and other geometrical forms by making them with wires. She kept feeling the different shapes of these wires until she could see them in her mind.During her second year college Miss Keller wrote the story of her life and what a college meant to her. This is what she wrote. My first day at Radcliffe college was of great interest. Some powerful force inside me made me test my mind. I wanted to learn if it was as good as that of others. I learned many things at college. One thing I slowly learned was that knowledge does not just mean power, as some people say. Knowledge leads to happiness because to have it is to know what is true and real. To know what great man of the past had thought, said, and done is to feel the heartbeat of humanity down through the ages. All of Helen Keller's knowledge reached her mind through her sense of touch and smell, and of course her feelings. To know a flower was to touch it, feel it and smell it. This sense of touch became greatly developed as she got older. She once said that hands speak almost as loudly as words. She said the touch of some hands frightened her. The people seemed so empty of joy that when she touched their cold fingers it is as if she were shaking bands with a storm. She found the hands of others full of sunshine and warmth. Strangely enough Helen Keller learned to love things she could not hear, music for example. She did this through her sense of touch. When waves of air beat against her, she felt them. Sometimes she put her hand to a singer's throat. She often stood for hours with her hands on a piano while it was played. Once she listened to an organ. Its powerful songs made her moved her body in rhythm with the music. She also liked to go to museums. She thought she understood sculptures as well as others. Her fingers told her the true size and the feel of the material. What did Helen Keller think of herself, what did she think about the tragic lost of her sight and hearing. This is what shewrote as a young girl.Sometimes a sense of loneliness covers me like a cold mist. I sit alone, and wait at life ' s shut-door. Beyond there is light and music and sweet friendship. But I may not enter. Silence sits heavy upon my soul. Then comes hope with a sweet smile and said softly " There is joy in forgetting oneself And so I tried to make the light in others' eyes my sun, the music in others' ears my symphony, the smile on others' lips my happiness.Helen Keller was tall and strong. When she spoke, her face looked very alive. It helped to give meaning to her words. She often felt the faces of close friends when she was talking to them to discover their feelings. She and Miss Sullivan both were known for their sense of humor. They enjoyed jokes and laughing at funny things that happened to themselves or others. Helen Keller had to work hard to support herself after she finished college. She spoke to many groups around the country. She wrote several books and she made one movie based on her life. Her main goal was to increase public interest in the difficulties of people with physical problems. The work Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan did has been written and talked about for many years. Their success showed how people can conquer great difficulties. Anne Sullivan died in 1936, blind herself. Before Miss Sullivan died, Helen wrote and said many kind things about her.It was the genius of my teacher, her sympathy, her love which made my first years of education so beautiful. My teacher is so near to me that I do not think of myself as a part from her. All the best of me belongs to her. Everything I am today was awakened by her loving touch .Helen Keller died on June 1st, 1968. She was 87 year old. Her message of courage and hope remains.。

Today I want to tell you about someone I really admire - her name is Helen Keller.I first learned about Helen in school when my teacher read us her amazing story. At first, I felt really bad for her because of all the challenges she faced. But then I realized she was one of the bravest and most determined people who ever lived!Helen was born in 1880 in Alabama. When she was just a baby, she got really sick with a disease called "brain fever." This made her lose her sight and hearing. Can you imagine being blind and deaf at only 19 months old? I can't - the world must have seemed so dark, quiet and confusing. Most people back then thought Helen would never be able to learn or communicate. But her parents didn't give up on her. When Helen was 6 years old, her life changed forever. Her parents hired a teacher named Anne Sullivan to come live with them and work with Helen. Anne realized that Helen wasextremely intelligent, but she just needed a way to communicate her thoughts. Using hand signs and a special alphabet where letters were spelled into Helen's palm, the two created a breakthrough. On that amazing day in 1887, Anne spelled"w-a-t-e-r" into Helen's hand as water ran over her other hand. Finally, Helen made the connection that everything had a name! From then on, she was unstoppable. With Anne's teaching, Helen learned to read, write, speak, use a typewriter, and even learned how to speak several languages like French, German, Greek and Latin. Helen went on to attend colleges like Harvard and become the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. But she didn't stop there!Helen spent her entire life working tirelessly to help improve conditions for the deaf, blind and others with disabilities. Using her celebrity status, she traveled the world giving speeches and lectures to raise awareness. She met with many famous leaders like US Presidents, Winston Churchill and Alexander Graham Bell to advocate for people with disabilities. Helen helped start schools, organizations and even a professional acting tour to promote her cause. Her persistence and activism led to things we take for granted today, like books being produced in braille. Before Helen, there were only a few books available for the blind to read. But she campaigned to make it a legal requirement for publishers to create materials in raised letter formats. Now thanks to her, the blind and vision impaired all over the world can experience the joy of reading any book they want.In her personal life, Helen fell in love with her husband while attending college. Against everyone's advice at the time, she married him and had a strong, devoted marriage for many years. They both worked tirelessly as partners to help people with disabilities until he passed away. Some of the qualities I admire most about Helen are her:Courage - Despite being blind, deaf and initially unable to communicate, she never gave up on life. She worked harder than anyone to overcome her disabilities.Determination - Nothing could stop Helen from pursuing her goals of learning, graduating college and helping others. She was relentless.Compassion - Helen spent her entire life advocating for people with disabilities and the underprivileged all over the world. If someone with her extreme disabilities could achieve so much and change the world, then I feel like I can overcome any obstacle in my own life. Her story teaches us to never give up on our dreams no matter how impossible they may seem. All it takes is hard work, perseverance and a positive mindset.I hope after learning about the incredible Helen Keller, you feel inspired like I do. She was an amazing woman who overcame huge challenges in her life. Even though she couldn't see or hear, she never gave up and accomplished incredible things. Helen Keller is someone I really admire!Helen was born in 1880 in a small town in Alabama. When she was just 19 months old, she got really sick with a high fever. The illness left her blind and deaf. Can you imagine not being able to see or hear anything at all? I can't even picture how hard that must have been, especially when she was just a baby. For the first few years of her life, Helen lived in a world of darkness and silence. She had no way to communicate with her family. When she wanted something, she would kick and scream because she didn't know how else to let people know what she needed. Her parents tried their best to understand her, but it was really difficult. When Helen was six years old, her life changed forever. Her parents hired a tutor named Anne Sullivan to come live with them and teach Helen. Anne was just 20 years old, but she was determined to help Helen learn. On that very first day they met,Anne fingerspelled the word "water" into Helen's hand as water ran over her other hand. Finally, Helen realized that everything had a name! She was so excited to start learning. From that moment on, Helen worked extremely hard every single day. Anne taught her to read and write using raised letters. Helen learned how to spell words by moving her fingers across the letters. When she read books, she had to run her fingers over each raised word. Learning this way took an incredible amount of effort and patience, but Helen never got discouraged. As she grew older, Helen learned how to speak too, even though she couldn't hear her own voice. She would put her fingers on someone's face and throat to feel the vibrations as they talked. Then she would try to make the same sounds and movements with her own mouth and vocal cords. It was an arduous process, but Helen practiced diligently. With Anne's guidance, Helen flourished and became an excellent student. She went to schools for the blind and the deaf. She even attended college! In 1904, at the age of 24, Helen graduated from Radcliffe College, which was connected to Harvard University. After finishing school, she traveled all over the world, giving speeches about her life experiences. She worked hard to improve education and opportunities for people with vision and hearing impairments. Helen met with many famous leaders and dignitaries to spread awareness about disabilities.Helen also became an author, writing books, articles, and essays. One of her most famous works is the autobiography called "The Story of My Life." In it, she vividly describes the challenges she faced growing up deaf and blind. Her books gave people a window into her remarkable world.Throughout her incredible life journey, Helen stayed positive, determined, and hardworking. She never let her disabilities stop her from achieving her dreams. Helen once said, "I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble." This humble attitude, along with her perseverance, made her a true hero. There are so many reasons why I admire Helen Keller tremendously. Helen Keller
How would I gather up the courage to keep on living if I were doomed to spend my life in the completely soundless darkness? Helen Keller, a distinguished American author, gave this question a perfect answer by writing her glamorous legend that won her profound respect and great admiration throughout the world. Despite the physical handicaps, she lived her life to the full instead of crying, "Jesus, life is unfair!" Apparently, destiny worked no magic on her. Then where did she derive the strength to overcome the seemingly unconquerable difficulties while the able bodied often feel lost in despair when they are frustrated?
A calamitous disaster deprived Keller of many things we take for granted. She was totally cut off from the visible world and yearned for only three days to see. Though it seemed to be the wildest dream beyond fulfillment, she did see what we, born with sight, fail to see. Her love of life brought her bright eyes and sharp ears to appreciate the grandest beauty of nature and the sweetest whispers of the breeze. She took pleasure in every second. She lived with a heart filled with gratitude willing to digout the hidden truth of life. Entitled to sight and
hearing, we usually abuse the faculties rather than cherish them as a precious gift. With that, we‘ve missed the essence of life that lies around us in simple forms.
Keller‘s striking optimism might be her secret of success, but what made her achieve the impossible is that she lived where as we exist. People hardly recognize the value of something till it‘s lost. What if we were to lose our sight the next moment?

Keller‘s striking optimism might be her secret Of success, but what made her achieve the impossible is that she lived whereas weexist.”
全文犹如一块无瑕的美玉,让人爱不释手。

从文章背后,不知读者是否能看到作者那颗玲珑剔透的心?
