[典例2] (2019·江苏卷,阅读C) Even more worryingly, the fascination with the internet by people in rich countries
has moved the international community to worry about the “digital divide” between the rich countries and the poor countries. This has led companies and individuals to donate money to developing countries to buy computer equipment and internet facilities. The question , however, is whether this is what the developing countries need the most.Perhaps giving money for those less fashionable things such as digging wells, extending electricity networks and making more affordable washing machines would have improved people’s lives more than giving every child a laptop computer or setting up internet centres in rural villages.I am not saying that those things are necessarily more important, but many donators have rushed into fancy programmes without carefully assessing the relative long-term costs and benefits of alternative uses of their money.
高考英语_新高考英语二轮复习专题限时集训7 推理判断之文章出处、读者对象_Word版含解析
专题限时集训(七)推理判断之文章出处、读者对象AAbout 1. 5 billion people speak English around the world. But for more than 1. 1 billion of them,English is their second language—often with a noticeable accent.“Someone's accent really reveals a lot about who they are and their identity. It will tell people what their native language is and probably where they come from,”says Marc Pell,a communication's professor at McGill University in Montreal. And according to Pell, one reaction to it can be a bias(偏见) against that person.Previous research that has been done elsewhere showed that people who have an accent tend to be trusted less, simply because they have an accent. But accents aren't the only thing we listen for when we have to decide if we trust another person. Tone of voice also plays a role. Pell and his team wanted to know if people would trust a confident tone, even if it came from someone with an accent. The researchers had Canadian English speakers listen to different versions of people saying neutral(无明显特性的) statements like “she has access to the building” while they were getting a brain scan in an MRI(磁共振成像) machine. Subjects heard someone say it with a confident tone with a Canadian English accent, an Australian accent or a French accent. Participants also heard the sentence with the three accents spoken in a doubtful or neutral tone. The MRI scans showed that the participants had to use more brain power to decide if they could trust the statements said with the nonnative accents. When the study participants heard the Australian or French accents, blood flow increased to the part of the brain that we use to process sound. They seemed to have to analyze that perhaps more carefully,or for a longer period of time to make this decision about whether they truly believed the speaker, especially when the speaker sounded doubtful. When asked, the participants reported not trusting either Australian or French accents—except when the statements were said confidently. It seems that confidence speaks for itself.【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。

高考英语阅读理解专题训练:7阅读理解推理判断三附参考答案
阅读理解-推理判断三1、More students than ever before are taking a gap year(间隔年) before going to university. It used to be the “year off” between school and university. The gap-year phenomenon originated(起源) with the months left over to Oxbridge applicants between entrance exams in November and the start of the next academic year. This year, 25,310 students who have accepted places in higher education institutions have put off their entry until next year, according to statistics on university entrance provided by the University and College Admissions Service (UCAS).That is a record 14.7% increase in the number of students taking a gap year. Tony Higgins from UCAS said that the statistics are good news for everyone in higher education. “Students who take a wel l-planned year out are more likely to be satisfied with, and complete, their chosen course. Students who take a gap year are often more mature and responsible,” he said. But not everyone is happy. Owain James, the president of the National Union of Students (NUS), argued that the increase is evidence of student hardship—young people are being forced into earning money before finishing their education. “New students are now aware that they are likely to leave university up to £15,000 in debt. It is not surprising that more and more students are taking a gap year to earn money to support their study for the degree. NUS statistics show that over 40% of students are forced to work during term time and the figure increases to 90% during vacating periods,” he said.1.What do we learn about the gap year from the text?A.It is flexible in length.B.It is a time for relaxation.C.It is increasingly popular.D.It is required by universities.2.According to Tony Higgins. students taking a gap year ____.A.are better prepared for college studiesB.know a lot more about their future jobC.are more likely to leave university in debtD.have a better chance to enter top universities3.How does Owain James feel about the gap-year phenomenon?A.He's puzzled.B.He's worried.C.He's surprised.D.He's annoyed.4.What would most students do on their vacation according to NUS statistics?A.Attend additional courses.B.Make plans for the new term.C.Earn money for their education.D.Prepare for their graduate studies.2、 Teens and younger children are reading a lot less for fun, according toa Common Sense Media report published Monday. While the decline over the past decade is steep for teen readers, some data in the report shows that reading remains a big part of many chi ldren’s lives, and indicates how parents might help encourage more reading.According to the report’s key findings, "the proportion(比例) who say they ‘hardly ever’ read for fun has gone from 8 percent of 13-year-olds and 9 percent of 17-year-olds in 1984 to 22 percent and27 percent respectively today."The report data shows that pleasure reading levels for younger children, ages 2—8,remain largely the same. But the amount of time spent in reading each session has declined, from closer to an hour or more to closer to a half hour per session. When it comes to technology and reading, the report does little to counsel(建议)parents looking for data about the effect of e-readers and tablets on reading. It does point out that many parents still limit electronic reading, mainly due to concerns about increased screen time. The most hopeful data shared in the report shows clear evidence of parents serving as examples and important guides for their kids when it comes to reading. Data shows that kids and teens who do read frequently, compared to infrequent readers, have more books in the home, more books purchased for them, parents who read more often, and parents who set aside time for them to read.As the end of school approaches, and school vacation reading lists loom(逼近)ahead, parents might take this chance to step in and make their own summer reading list and plan a family trip to the library or bookstore.1.What is the Common Sense Media report probably about?A.Children's reading habits.B.Quality of children's books.C.Children's after-class activities.D.Parent-child relationships.2.Where can you find the data that best supports "children are reading a lot less for fun"?A.In paragraph 2.B.In paragraph 3.C.In paragraph 4.D.In paragraph 5.3.Why do many parents limit electronic reading?A.E-books are of poor quality.B.It could be a waste of time.C.It may harm children's health.D.E-readers are expensive.4.How should parents encourage their children to read more?A.Act as role models for them.B.Ask then to write book reports.C.Set up reading groups for them.D.Talk with their reading class teachers.3、How could we possibly think that keeping animals in cages in unnatural environments -mostly for entertainment purposes - is fair and respectful? Zoo officials say they are concerned about animals. However, most zoos remain “collections” of interesting “things” rather than protective habitats.Zoos teach people that it is acceptable to keep animals bored, lonely, and far from their natural homes. Zoos claim to educate people and save endangered species, but visitors leave zoos without having learned anything meaningful about the animals’ natural behavior, intelligence, or beauty. Zoos keep animals in small spaces or cages, and most signs o nly mention the species’ name, diet, and natural range. The animals’ normal behavior is seldom noticed because zoos don’t usually take care of the animals’ natural needs. The animals are kept together in small spaces, with no privacy and little opportunity for mental and physical exercise. This results in unusually and self-destructive behavior called zoochosis. A worldwide study of zoos found that zoochosis is common among animals kept in small spaces or cages. Another study showed that elephants spend 22 percent of their time making repeated head movements or biting cage bars, and bears spend 30 percent of their time walking back and forth, a sign of unhappiness and pain.Furthermore, most animals in zoos are not endangered.Captive breeding(圈养繁殖) of endangered big cats, Asian elephants, and other species has not resulted in their being sent back to the wild.Zoos talk a lot about their captive breeding programs because they do not want people to worry about a species dying out. In fact, baby animals also attract a lot of paying customers. Haven’t we seen enough competitions to name baby animals?Actually, we will save endangered species only if we save their habitats and put an end to the reasons people kill them. Instead of supporting zoos, we should support groups that work to protect animals’ natural habitats.1.How would the author describe the animals’ life in zoos?A.Dangerous.B.Unhappy.C.Natural.D.Easy.2.In the state of zoochosis, animals _________.A.remain in cagesB.behave strangelyC.attack other animalsD.enjoy moving around3.What does the author try to argue in the passage?A.Zoos are not worth the public support.B.Zoos fail in their attempt to save animals.C.Zoos should treat animals as human beings.D.Zoos use animals as a means of entertainment.4.The author tries to persuade readers to accept his argument mainly by _________.A.pointing out the faults in what zoos doing evidence he has collected at zoosC.questioning the way animals are protectedD.discussing the advantages of natural habitats4、As cultural symbols go, the American car is quite young. The Model T Ford was built at the Piquette Plant in Michigan a century ago, with the first rolling off the assembly line(装配线) on September 27, 1908. Only eleven cars were produced the next month. But eventually Henry Ford would build fifteen million of them.Modern America was born on the road, behind a wheel. The car shaped some of the most lasting aspects of American culture: the roadside diner, the billboard, the motel, even the hamburger. For most of the last century, the car represented what it meant to be American—going forward at high speed to find new worlds. The road novel, the road movie, these are the most typical American ideas, born of abundant petrol, cheap cars and a never-ending interstate highway system, the largest public works project in history. In 1928 Herbert Hoover imagined an America with “a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage.” Since then, this society has moved onward, never looking back, as the car transformed America from a farm-based society into an industrial power. The cars that drove the American Dream have helped to create a global ecological disaster. In America the demand for oil has grown by 22 percent since 1990.The problems of excessive(过度的)energy consumption, climate change and population growth have been described in a book by the American writer Thomas L. Friedman. He fears the worst, but hopes for the best.Friedman points out that the green economy(经济)is a chance to keep American strength. “The ability to design, build and export green technologies for producing clean water, clean air and healthy and abundant food is going to be the currency of power in the new century.”1.Why is hamburger mentioned in paragraph 2?A.To explain Americans' love for travelling by car.B.To show the influence of cars on American culture.C.To stress the popularity of fast food with Americans.D.To praise the effectiveness of America's road system.2.What has the use of cars in America led to?A.Decline of economy.B.Environmental problems.C.A shortage of oil supply.D.A farm-based society.3.What is Friedman’s attitude towards America’s future?A.Ambiguous.B.Doubtful.C.Hopeful.D.Tolerant.5、There are thousands of products of all colors and shapes in a supermarket, making you believe that they are worth a try. How? Packaging is the silent but persuading salesman .There on the shelves, each bottle, can, box, and jar has been carefully designed and measured to speak to the inner self of the consumer, so that is buying not only a product but also his belief in life. Scientists have studied consumer behavior recently and found that the look of the package has a great effect on the “quality” of the product and on how well it sells, because “Consumers generally cannot tell between a product and its package. Many products are packages and many packages are products,” as Louis Cheskin, the first social scientist studying consumers’ feeling for packaging, noticed.Colors are one of the best tools in packaging. Studies of eye movement have shown that colors draw human attention quickly. Take V8 for example. For many years, the bright red color of tomatoes and carrots on the thin bottle makes you feel that it is very good for your body. And the word “green” today can keep food prices going up.我Shapes are another attraction. Circles often suggest happiness and peacefulness, because these shapes are pleasing to both the eye and the heart. That’s why the round yellow M signs of McDonald’s a re inviting to both young and old. This new consumer response (反应) to the colors and shapes of packages reminds producers and sellers that people buy to satisfy both body and soul.1.According to the passage, ________ seems to be able to persuade a consumer to buy the product.A.the pleasing color of the packageB.the special taste of the productC.the strange shape of the packageD.the belief in the product2.If a package or a product is round in shape, it can ________.A.bring excitement to the consumersB.attract the consumers’ attentionC.catch the eye movement of the consumersD.produce a happy and peaceful feeling3.“And the word ‘green’ today can keep food prices going up.” This sentence suggests that consumers today are ________.A.starting to notice the importance of new foodB.enjoying the beauty of nature more than beforeC.beginning to like green vegetablesD.paying more attention to their health4.It can be inferred from the passage that V8 is a kind of ________.6、 Many Americans think of driverless cars as a futuristic technology that will revolutionize travel in cities and along state highways. But recent experiments are proving that autonomous vehicles also have the potential to improve the quality of life for millions of Americans underserved by traditional modes of transportation, such as the elderly and disabled, so long as lawmakers make smart policies that pave the way for innovation.A retirement community in San Jose, Calif. , which has been transformed by a small fleet of driverless taxis, shows the potential of self-driving cars to transform people’s lives. Built by a tech start-up called Voyage, the modified Ford Fusions are currently limited to a two-mile road, but residents are already having the benefits of these autonomous vehicles, which allow them to participate in social activities they would otherwise be unable to enjoy simply because they could not get to them. When the trial run finally expands to 15 miles of road, these residents—whose average age is 76—will also have a convenient and reliable new way to appointments. As these cars continue to serve residents there, it is easy to understand why California is moving to simplify regulations for the industry. In Michigan, forward-thinking policies have the potential to unlock other hidden benefits of autonomous vehicles, especially for those with physical disabilities. The Michigan Disability Rights Coalition has strongly advocated forthe development of this technology, saying that it could give people with disabilities greater opportunities in the workforce and enable them to lead more fulfilling, independent lives. Many recognize that autonomous vehicles will be the future of transportation, but it is too often overlooked that this future cannot arrive fast enough for millions of Americans who are forced to depend on others for day-to-day travel. The policymakers should follow the lead of places like California and Michigan, and pass rules and regulations to unlock these hidden benefits of driverless cars.1.What’s the attitude of most American people to the future of autonomous vehicles?A.Curious.B.Doubtful.C.Indifferent.D.Optimistic.2.What is the modified Ford Fusion?A.A kind of autonomous vehicle.B.A fleet of driverless taxis.C.A road for driverless cars.D.A retirement community.3.What are examples in California and Michigan to prove?A.Driverless cars’ disadvantages.ernments’ right decisions.C.Benefits to the aged and the disabled.D.The regulations are forward-thinking.4.What does the author attempt to inform us in the last paragraph?A.The benefits of driverless cars have been fully unlocked.B.Regulations should go hand in hand with driverless technology.C.The concept of autonomous vehicles has been widely recognized.D.The weak groups are often overlooked despite technology advances.A.vegetable dishB.healthy juiceC.iced drinkD.red vegetable答案以及解析1答案及解析:答案: 1.C; 2.A; 3.B; 4.C解析: 1.本文介绍了越来越多的学生在被大学录取后,不直接去上大学,而是在间隔年期间赚取上大学的费用的现象。

Some libraries even loan out toys and games. If a popular magazine you want isn’t offered and the library keeps a list of such requests, they may bring it in when enough interest is shown. Join targeted reading groups. Libraries will often hold reading-group sessions targeted to various age groups. Perhaps you’d like to learn a language or improve your English. The library may sponsor a language group you could join. If you have difficulties reading, ask about special reading opportunities. Your library might be able to accommodate you. 二.词义猜测题
5.猜测词义的方法:内在逻辑关系型
(2)根据因果关系猜测词义
在句子或段落中,若两个事物现象之间构成因果关系,我们可以根据这种
逻辑关系推测生词词义。例如:
feel that since you are my superior, it would be presumptuous of me to tell you what to do.”
二.词义猜测题 4.猜测词义的方法:针对性解释型 (2)根据举例猜测词义:恰当的举例能够提供猜测生词的重要线索。
例如: The course gives you chances to know great power polities between nation states. It will provide more space to study particular issues such as relationship among countries in the European Union, third world debt, local and international disagreement, and the work of such international bodies as the United Nations, the European Union, NATO, and the World Bank. 分析:根据such as后面列举的一系列例子,我们应该能推断出句中的issue 是指“议题”。

2025届高考英语二轮专题复习与测试专题强化练三推理判断题__观点态度类
专题强化练(三) 推理推断题——观点看法类A(2024·广州市高三调研测试)Our planet quakes thousands of times a year, but we still can't predict exactly when and where earthquakes will strike. What if animals' odd behaviors could warn us?Researchers have reviewed hundreds of reports on prepacked abnormal animal behaviors, but more were just anecdotes.Geologist Jim Berkland counted newspaper ads looking for runaway cats and dogs.On October 13,1989,he told a newspaper reporter a big quake would strike in a week.Four days later, the Loma Prieta earthquake hit! But the scientific community still rejected Berkland's theory. He didn't document every prediction,so nobody could measure his accuracy rate.Actual scientific evidence has to be repeatable. And a connection between a cause and an effect has to be shown to be stronger than random chance through careful experimentation and data collection.California researchers in the 1970s happened to have built controlled habitats to monitor the wheelrunning activity of pocket mice. These habitats happened to be in an active earthquake area. Then the 1971 San Fernando Earthquake struck nearby. The researchers checked their data and found no big changes in how long the animals ran in their wheels or stayed underground before the earthquake activity. What might the next experiment show?Researchers from 150 universities worldwide are working on a new study called the ICARUS project. The project tracks many small animal species such as birds, bats, and turtles for the purpose of scientific research. One group of researchers are looking for possible connections between animal behaviors and earthquakes. If they find a reliable connection, this could save hundreds of thousands of human lives.ICARUS aims to power an app that will give people hours to get to safety. However, not everyone is hopeful.Geologist Wendy Bohon said that ICARUS is doing some “cool things”,but she knows animal behaviors are hard to pin down.“My cat could act crazy before an earthquake,”she says.“But it also acts crazy if somebody uses the can opener.”【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。

The Moldovan has lived here seven years as a caregiver to Italian kids and the elderly, but in order to stay she’s had to prove her language skills by taking a test which requires her to write a postcard to an imaginary friend and answer a fictional job ad.Italy is the latest Western European country trying to control a growing immigrant(移民)population by demanding language skills in exchange for work permits, or in some cases, citizenship. Some immigrant advocates worry that as hard financial times make it more difficult for natives to keep jobs, such measures will become more a vehicle for intolerance than integration(融合).Others say it’s only natural that newcomers learn the language of their host nation, seeing it as a condition to ensure they can contribute to society.Other European countries laid down a similar requirement for immigrants, and some terms are even tougher. The governments argue that this will help foreigners better join the society and promote understanding across cultures.Italy, which has a much weaker tradition of immigration, has witnessed a sharp increase in immigration in recent years. In 1990, immigrants numbered some 1.14 million out of Italy’s then 56.7 million people, o r about 2 percent. At the start of this year, foreigners living in Italy amounted to 4.56 million of a total population of 60.6 million, or 7.5 percent, with immigrants’ children accounting for an ever larger percentage of births in Italy.Cojochru, the Moldovan caregiver, hoped obtaining permanent residence (居住权) would help her bring her two children to Italy; they live with her sister in Moldova, where salaries are among the lowest in Europe. She was skeptical that the language requirement would encourage integration.Italians always "see me as a foreigner," an outsider, even though she’s stayed in the country for years and can speak the local language fluently, she said.1.Why does Cojochru have to take a language test?A.To continue to stay in Italy.B.To teach her children Italian.C.To find a better job in Italy.D.To better mix with the Italians.2.Some people worry that the new language requirement may _____.A.reduce Italy's population quicklyB.cause conflicts among peopleC.lead to financial difficultiesD.put pressure on schools3.What do we know about Cojochru?A.She lives with her sister now in Italy.B.She enjoys learning the Italian language.C.She speaks Italian well enough for her job.D.She wishes to go back to her home country.4、If Confucius(孔子) were still alive today and could celebrate his September 28 birthday with a big cake, there would be a lot of candles. He’d need a fan or a strong wind to help him put them out. While many people in China will remember Confucius on his special day, few people in the United States will give him a passing thought. It’s nothing personal. Most Americans don’t even remember the birthdays of their own national heroes. But this doesn’t mean that Americans don’t care about Confucius. I n many ways he has become a bridge that foreigners must cross if they want to reach a deeper understanding of China. In the past two decades, the Chinese studies programs have gained huge popularity in Western universities. More recently, the Chinese government has set up Confucius Institutes in more than 80 countries. These schools teach both Chinese language and culture. The main courses of Chinese culture usually included Chinese art, history and philosophy(哲学). Some social scientists suggest that Westerners should take advantages of the ancient Chinese wisdom to make up for the drawbacks of Westerners philosophy. Students in the United States, at the same time, are racing to learn Chinese. So they will be ready for life in a world where China is an equal power with the United States. Businessmen who hope to make money in China are reading books about Confucius to understand their Chinese customers. So the old thinker’s ideas are still alive and well.Today China attracts the West more than ever, and it will need more teachers to introduce Confucius and Chinese culture to the West.As for the old thinker, he will not soon be forgotten by people in the West, even if his birthday is.1.The opening paragraph is mainly intended to .A.provide some key facts about ConfuciusB.attract the readers’ interest in the subjectC.show great respect for the ancient thinkerD.prove the popularity of modern birthday celebrations2.We can learn from Paragraph 4 that American students .A.have a great interest in studying ChineseB.take an active part in Chinese competitionsC.try to get high scores in Chinese examsD.fight for a chance to learn Chinese3.What is the best title for the passage?A.Forgotten Wisdom in AmericaB.Huge Fans of the Chinese LanguageC.Chinese Culture for WesternersD.Old Thinker with a Big Future4.The passage is likely to appear in .A.a biographyB.a history paperC.a newspaperD.a philosophy textbook5、 A dragonfly barely an inch and a half long appears to be the animal worlds most prcnluctive long distance traveler —flying thousands of miles over oceans—according to newly published research.Biologists who led the study say the evidence is in the genes. They found that populations of this dragonfly, called Pantala (lavescens, in Texas, eastern Canada, Japan, Korea,India, and South America, have genes so similar that there is only one likely explanation. Apparently—somehow一these insects are traveling distances thai are extraordinarily long for iheir small size, breeding (繁殖) with each other, and creating a common worldwide gene pool. But how do insects from different continents manage to meet? Ware says it appears to be the way their bodies have evolved These dragonflies have adaptation such as increased surface areas on their wings that enable them to use the wind to carry them.Dragonflies,in fact, have already been observed crossing the Indian Ocean from Asia to Africa. “They are following the weather,’’ says Daniel Troasl, who analyzed the DNA samples in Wares' lab. "They've going from India where it's the dry season to Africa where it's the wet season, and apparentlythey do it once a year."Wetness is a must for Pantala to reproduce, and that, says Ware, is why these insects would be driven to even attempt such a dangerous trip, which she calls a ''kind of suicide". The species depends on it. While many will die on the roule, as long as enough make it, the species sunives. For the moment, the details of this extraordinary insect travel are an educated best guess. Much more work is needed to bring many loose ends together. Ware and Troast hope that scientists can work on plotting those routes.1.What proves Pantala flavescens are the world's longest-distance flyers?A.Scientists have tracked the dragonfly across the world.B.There are many Pantala flavescens in various continents.C.The same dragonfly was found both in Asia and America.D.Pantala flavescens in different continents have similar genes.2.What helps Pantala flavescens fly a long distance?A.Their special body shape.B.Their ability to use wind.C.Their small and light body.D.Their large and strong wings.3.What is necessary for Pantala flavescens to reproduce?A.Damp weather.B.Enough sunshine.C.Dry environment.D.Warm nests.4.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 5 refer to?A.The weather.B.The insect.C.The wind.D.The trip.6、BEIJING (AP)—Sandstorms whipping across China shrouded(遮蔽) cities in an unhealthy cloud of sand Monday, with winds carrying the pollution outside the mainland as far as Hong Kong and Taiwan. It was the latest sign of the effects of desertification: Overgrazing, deforestation, urban sprawl(无计划地扩展) and drought have expanded deserts in the country’s north and west. The shifting sands have gradually moved onto populated areas and worsened sandstorms that strike cities, particularly in spring.Winds blowing from the northwest have been sweeping sand across the country since Saturday, affecting Xinjiang in the far west all the way to Beijing in the country's east. The sand and dust were carried to parts of southern China and even to cities in Taiwan,1,600 miles (2,600 kilometers) away from Inner Mongolia where much of the pollution originated. The sandstorm in Taiwan, an island 100 miles (160 kilometers) away from the mainlands forced people to cover their faces to avoid breathing in the grit(砂砾) that can cause chest discomfort and respiratory problems even in healthy people.Drivers complained their cars were covered in a layer of black soot in just 10 minutes. In Hong Kong, environmental protection officials said pollution levels were climbing as the sandstorm moved south.Twenty elderly people sought medical assistance for shortness of breat h. Hong Kong’s radio RTHK reported. The latest sandstorm was expected to hit South Korea on Tuesday, said Kim Seung-bum of the Korea Meteorological Administration. The sandstorm that raked(掠过) across China over the weekend caused the worst “yellow dust” haze in South Korea since 2005,and authorities issued a rare nationwide dust advisory.Grit from Chinese sandstorms has been found to travel as far as the western United States.China’s Central Meteorological Station urged people to close doors an d windows, and cover their faces with masks or scarves when going outside.Sensitive electronic and mechanical equipment should be sealed off, the station said in a warning posted Monday on its Website.State television's noon newscast showed the tourist city of Hangzhou on the eastern coasts where graceful bridges and waterside pagodas were hidden in a mix of sand and other pollution. Data shows that kids and teens who do read frequently, compared to infrequent readers, have more books in the home, more books purchased for them, parents who read more often, and parents who set aside time for them to read.As the end of school approaches, and school vacation reading lists loom(逼近)ahead, parents might take this chance to step in and make their own summer reading list and plan a family trip to the library or bookstore.1.What is the Common Sense Media report probably about?A.Children's reading habits.B.Quality of children's books.C.Children's after-class activities.D.Parent-child relationships.2.Where can you find the data that best supports "children are reading a lot less for fun"?A.In paragraph 2.B.In paragraph 3.C.In paragraph 4.D.In paragraph 5.3.Why do many parents limit electronic reading?A.E-books are of poor quality.B.It could be a waste of time.C.It may harm children's health.D.E-readers are expensive.4.How should parents encourage their children to read more?A.Act as role models for them.B.Ask then to write book reports.C.Set up reading groups for them.D.Talk with their reading class teachers.8、In today’s world of smart phones and laptops, most people have at least one time-telling thing with them.
