2011的英语作文
2011的英语作文In 2011, the world witnessed a significant shift in the way education was delivered, largely due to the rapid advancement of technology. The integration of computers, the internet, and various digital tools into the classroom has transformed the learning experience for students and educators alike.Firstly, the advent of online learning platforms allowed students to access educational content from anywhere at any time. This flexibility was particularly beneficial for those who could not attend traditional classrooms due to geographical or personal constraints. Online courses and tutorials provided by reputable institutions made high-quality education more accessible than ever before.Secondly, the use of interactive whiteboards and digital projectors in classrooms made teaching more engaging and dynamic. Teachers could incorporate multimedia elements such as videos, animations, and interactive simulations into their lessons, which helped to capture students' attention and enhance their understanding of complex subjects. Moreover, the rise of educational software and applications facilitated personalized learning. These tools allowed teachers to track students' progress and tailor their teaching methods to meet individual needs. As a result, students could learn at their own pace and receive targeted support in areas where they struggled.Additionally, social media and online forums became platforms for collaboration and discussion among students and educators. They provided a space where students could ask questions, share ideas, and work together on projects, fostering a sense of community and promoting the exchange of knowledge. However, the integration of technology into education also presented challenges. Concerns about screen time, digital distractions, and the digital divide were raised, as not all students had equal access to technology. Educators had tofind ways to balance the use of technology with traditional teaching methods to ensure that all students could benefitfrom the educational opportunities available. In conclusion, 2011 marked a pivotal year in the evolution of education due to the impact of technology. While there were challenges to overcome, the benefits of technology in enhancing learning experiences and making education more accessible were undeniable. As we look back, it is clear that the seeds sown in 2011 have continued to grow, shaping the landscape of education in profound ways.。
二模英语作文2011合肥
二模英语作文2011合肥英文:As a student in Hefei in 2011, I had the opportunity to experience the city's unique blend of traditional culture and modern development. Hefei is a city with a rich history and a vibrant present, and I was fortunate to be able to explore both aspects during my time there. One of the things that struck me about Hefei was the way in which the city seamlessly integrated its traditional culture with modern development. For example, I remember visiting the old town area and being amazed by thebeautiful ancient architecture, which stood in stark contrast to the sleek skyscrapers that loomed in the distance. It was a powerful reminder of how Hefei has managed to preserve its cultural heritage while also embracing progress and innovation.Another aspect of Hefei that left a lasting impressionon me was the warmth and hospitality of the people. I was constantly struck by how friendly and welcoming the locals were, and I often found myself engaged in conversations with strangers who were eager to share their stories and experiences with me. It was through these interactions that I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the city and its people, and I am grateful for the connections that I was able to make during my time in Hefei.中文:作为2011年在合肥的学生,我有机会体验这座城市独特的传统文化和现代发展的融合。

Students and Technology in the ClassroomI love my blackberry—it’s my little connection to the larger world that can go anywhere with me . I also love my laptop computer ,as it holds all of my writing and thoughts .Despite this love of technology ,I know that there are times when I need to move away from these devices(设备)and truly communicat with others. On occasion, I teach a course called History Matters for a group of higher education managers. My goals for the class include a full discussion of historical themes and ideas .Because I want students to thoroughly study the material and exchange their ideas with each other in the classroom ,I have a rule —no laptop ,iPads ,phones ,etc .When students were told my rule in advance of the class, some of them were not happy .Most students assume that my reasons for this rule include unpleasant experiences in the past with students misusing technology . There’s a bit of truth to that. Some students assume that I am anti-technology . There’s no truth in that at all . I love technology and try to keep up with it so I can relate to my students. The real reason why I ask students to leave technology at the door is that I think there are very few places in which we can have deep conversions and truly engage complex ideas. Interruptions by technology often break concentration and allow for too much dependence on outside information for ideas . I want students to dig deep within themselves for inspiration and ideas. I want them to push each other to think differently and make connections between the course the material and the class discussion .I’ve been teaching my history class in this way for many years and the evaluations reflect student satisfaction with the environment that I create .Students realize that with deep conversation and challenge , they learn at a level that helps them keep the course material beyond the classroom .I’m not saying that I won’t ever change my mind about technology use in my history class, but unti l I hear a really good reason for the change ,I’m sticking to my plan. A few hours of technology-free dialogue is just too sweet to give up.63.Some of the students in the history class were unhappy with____A. the course materialB. others’ m isuse of technologyC. discussion topicsD. the author’s class regulat ions64.T he underlined word “engage ”in para.4 probably means ____A. exploreB. acceptC. changeD. reject65.According to the author ,the use of technology in the classroom may ____A. keep students from doing independent thinkingB. encourage students to have in-depth conversationsC. help students to better understand complex themesD. affect students’ concentration on course evaluation66.It can be inferred from the last paragraph that the author ____A. is quite stubbornB. will give up teaching historyC. will change his teaching plan soonD. values technology-free dialogues in his class。
2011全国卷英语作文
2011全国卷英语作文### 2011 National English CompositionDear Editor,I am writing to express my views on the importance of environmental protection in our daily lives. The environment is the foundation upon which we live and thrive, and it is our responsibility to protect it.First and foremost, we should be conscious of the impact of our actions on the environment. For instance, we can reduce the use of plastic bags and opt for reusable ones. This simple change can significantly decrease the amount of non-biodegradable waste that ends up in our oceans and landfills.Additionally, conserving energy is crucial. Turning offlights and electronic devices when not in use can save a considerable amount of electricity. Moreover, we can also consider using renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power, which are more sustainable and have a lower carbon footprint.Furthermore, promoting a green lifestyle is essential. This can include planting trees, which not only beautifies our surroundings but also helps to combat climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide. We can also support local farmers by purchasing locally grown produce, which reduces theenvironmental impact of transportation.Lastly, education plays a vital role in environmental protection. Schools should incorporate environmental studies into their curriculum to raise awareness among students from an early age. This will help to cultivate a generation that is more mindful of their actions and the environment. In conclusion, protecting the environment is a collective effort that requires the participation of every individual. By adopting eco-friendly practices and spreading awareness, we can make a positive impact and ensure a healthier planet for future generations.Yours sincerely,[Your Name]。

Machine Translation and Human TranslationIn recent years, all kinds of electronic dictionaries and translation software have been developed. With the development of technology, these electronic dictionaries and software can help us translate not only words and phrases but even sentences and paragraphs. So some people come to the conclusion that machine translation will replace traditional human translation. However, I couldn’t agree with this argument.Admittedly, translation machines and software bring much convenience for our study and our work. With them, we needn’t bother to leaf through the heavy dictionaries. However, machine translation has its disadvantages. First, generally speaking, translation software only can give direct translation, which is sometimes not in accordance with the original articles in logic and meaning. Second, some people depend on electronic dictionaries and software too much, which is unfavorable to their improvement in language ability.Considering the above-mentioned, I think that machine translation cannot replace human translation, but it is a good专四写作范文3篇(扩展2)——专四写作范文范文三份2011年专四优秀范文大全第2篇Killing Time IndoorsNowadays a growing number of people, especially the 20s or 30s, tend to stay indoors for most of their spare time, especially on holidays. Some spend the majority of the time online chatting, blogging, shopping, dating or playing com*r games. Some sit with their eyes glued to the television screen, day and night.People’s opinions vary when it comes to this way of killing time. A great number of people maintain that staying indoors is cheap, comfortable, and most importantly, very safe. Others, however, frown upon staying indoors for too long. They are worried that lack of physical exercise and face-to-face communication with others will do harm to people’s body and mind.Personally, I don’t think staying indoors for most of the day should be advocated. Instead, people in all ages, their physical conditions permitting, should be encouraged to spend more time outdoors. The brilliant sunshine, the pleasant green space, the interactions with other people, etc. are all good for people’s health, both physically and psychologically.专四写作范文3篇扩展阅读专四写作范文3篇(扩展1)——专四写作3篇The Way to SuccessThere are many ways to success, such as hard working, passion or good preparations. From Honore De Balzac’s famous remark, “There is no such thing as a great talent without great will power”, we can see that the way to success is having a strong will.A strong will is essential if we want to achieve our goals. Initially, every success involves several stages of setbacks and risks, and we need to summon up our will to overcome them. Moreover, there are enormous temptations in our path of the pursuit of success. Only with a strong will can we resist the temptation, and persist in chasing our goals until we reach them. The long history of human being has also proved that only those with a strong will can achieve success at last. We are all familiar with Thoma s Edison’s story that he had tried one thousand kinds of materials before he finally made his great bulb light up. Without a strong will, Edison might have been a nobody. Without a strong will, no one can succeed.专四写作范文3篇(扩展3)——专四写作《相亲》范文一份2011年专四优秀范文大全第4篇题目:It used to be that people who played sports were gentlemen but today we find that sportsmanship is becoming rarer. Some players cheat, take drugs, win at all costs and in football professional fouls are increasing. Write about the importance of sportsmanship.范文:Good Sportsmanship Is of Vital ImportanceSportsmanship is a great tradition in sports and competitions that means playing clean and handling both victory and defeat with grace, style, and dignity. Today, quite a few athletes lack sportsmanship. I personally hold that good sportsmanship is of vital importance for both the athletes themselves and their offspring.Firstly, practicing good sportsmanship wins respect. When you win, the trick is to be a gracious and generous winner. Good sportsmanship means acknowledging victories without humiliating opponents, being quietly proud of success, and letting victories speak for themselves. Even if you win by a landslide, good sportsmanship means still finding ways to compliment your opponents. By demonstrating your respect to your opponents, you win respect from them too. Secondly, good sportsmanship teaches children how they should behave. Kids learn the basics of sportsmanship from the *s in their lives, especially their parents and their coaches. Kids who see *s behavin in a sportsmanlike way gradually come to understand that the real winners in sports are those who know how to persevere and to behavewith dignity-whether they win or lose a game. A child who practices good sportsmanship is likely to carry the respect and appreciation of other people into every other aspect of life.In conclusion, sportsmanship is a manifestation of our own ethics in real life. For the sake of sportsmen themselves and the generation to come, good sportsmanship should be highly advocated. Some people see it as a good way to meet different people while others argue tha t it’s not possible to find one’s partner between two people who have not previously met. As far as I’m concerned, blind dating is worth trying and you can find your true love there!First of all, nowadays many young people are always busying with their work; therefore they have little spare time to meet with their future partner, leading to more and more leftover women and men. According to a study, a happy life includes work and family balance, which means a harmonious family including the couple (and the baby in the future) may contribute to a comparably happy life. What’s more, during a blind date, usually the basic information is given to both parts; therefore it’s more reliable to know a person’s family background, his or her job, religion etc. As is known to all, a couple should have the same belief in value, wealth, thus preventing many potential conflicts.Last but not least, through blind dates, one can meet people with different personalities, thus having a clearer idea about which kind of person is suitable for being a lifelong mate. And blind dates are also great chances to make friends in the same age group. To sum up, blind dating can be a good way to find one’s future husband or wife. It’s feasible and reliable. 2011甘肃高考英语作文
2011甘肃高考英语作文Dear Editor,I am writing to express my deep concern about the environmental issues that our society is currently facing. The rapid development of industry and urbanization has led to severe pollution and the depletion of natural resources. It is high time that we take proactive measures to protect our environment.Firstly, air pollution has become a critical problem in many cities. The excessive emission of greenhouse gases from factories and vehicles has led to a significant increase in respiratory diseases among the population. To combat this, we should encourage the use of public transportation and promote the development of clean energy sources.Secondly, water pollution is another pressing issue. The indiscriminate disposal of industrial waste and domestic sewage has contaminated our water bodies, affecting the health of both humans and aquatic life. Strict regulations and monitoring systems should be implemented to ensure that wastewater is treated before being released into the environment.Thirdly, deforestation is causing the loss of habitats for many species and contributing to climate change. We must preserve our forests by planting more trees and enforcinglaws against illegal logging.Lastly, public awareness campaigns should be conducted to educate people about the importance of environmental conservation. By understanding the consequences of their actions, individuals can make more informed choices and contribute to a greener future. In conclusion, it is our collective responsibility to protect the environment for the well-being of our society and future generations. By working together, we can make a significant difference and ensure a sustainable future.Yours sincerely,[Your Name]Please note that the above composition is a fictional response to a hypothetical prompt for a 2011 Gansu Province Gaokao English composition. 2011英语高考作文I woke up this morning feeling really tired. It's not that I didn't get enough sleep, but I just feel like I need a break. Maybe it's because I've been working so hard lately, trying to juggle school, work, and my social lifeall at the same time. It's exhausting, and sometimes I just wish I could press the pause button on life and take a breather.Speaking of work, I've been thinking about asking for a raise. I mean, I've been putting in extra hours and taking on more responsibilities, so I think I deserve it. But then again, I don't want to come off as too pushy or entitled. It's a tough balance to strike, and I'm not really sure how to approach the situation. On a lighter note, I'm really looking forward to the concert next weekend. I've been a fan of the band for years, and I can't wait to finally see them live. It's going to be a great opportunity to let loose and have some fun with myfriends. I just hope the weather holds up, because I'd hate for it to be rained out.Lately, I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the expectations placed on me. Whether it's from my parents, my teachers, or my boss, it feels like everyone wants something from me. I know it's part of growing up and being responsible, but sometimes I wish I could just take a step back and breathe. I guess it's all part of the journey to adulthood, but it's definitely not easy.。

2011年英语一阅读第三篇
2011年英语一阅读第三篇The Importance of Preserving Cultural HeritageIn today's rapidly globalizing world, the preservation of cultural heritage has become an increasingly pressing concern. As nations and societies around the globe become more interconnected, there is a risk that the unique cultural identities and traditions that have defined human civilization for centuries may be lost or diluted. The 2011 CET-4 Reading Passage 3 explores this critical issue, highlighting the need to safeguard our cultural heritage for future generations. The passage begins by emphasizing the inherent value of cultural heritage, noting that it is not merely a collection of artifacts or historical relics, but rather the embodiment of a people's identity, traditions, and way of life. It argues that cultural heritage is a living, dynamic entity that shapes the way individuals and communities understand their past, present, and future. The loss of this heritage, the passage contends, would be a profound and irreversible tragedy, depriving humanity of the rich diversity of human experience andexpression. One of the key points made in the passage is the threat posed by globalization to the preservation of cultural heritage. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected through advances in technology, communication, and transportation, there is a risk that local and regional cultures may be overshadowed by dominant, homogenized global cultures. The passage cites examples of traditional art forms, languages, and customs that have already begun to disappear or become marginalized as a result of this process. However, the passage also acknowledges the potential benefits of globalization, such as the increased exchange of ideas, the cross-pollination of cultural influences, and the opportunity for greater mutual understanding and appreciation among peoples. The challenge, then, is to find a balance between embracing the positive aspects of globalization while still preserving the unique cultural identities that give meaning and richness to human experience. To this end, the passage outlines several strategies for effective cultural heritage preservation. One key approach is the active involvement of local communities in the identification, documentation, and protection of their own cultural assets. The passage argues that communities are best positioned to understandthe significance and nuances of their own cultural traditions, and that their participation is essential for ensuring the long-term viability of these traditions.Another important strategy is the development of comprehensive legal and policy frameworks to safeguard cultural heritage. The passage highlights the role of international organizations, such as UNESCO, in establishing conventions and guidelines for the protection of cultural heritage, as well as the need for national and regional governments to enact and enforce relevant laws and regulations. The passage also emphasizes the importance of education and public awareness in promoting the value of cultural heritage. By instilling a sense of pride and appreciation for cultural traditions in young people, and by fostering greater public understanding of the significance of cultural heritage, the passage argues that we can help to ensure its preservation for future generations. Finally, the passage underscores the economic and social benefits of cultural heritage preservation. It notes that the tourism industry, for example, can provide a sustainable source of income for communities that are able to effectively showcase and share their cultural assets. Moreover, the passage suggests that the preservation of cultural heritage can contribute to social cohesion, communityresilience, and overall well-being.In conclusion, the 2011 CET-4 Reading Passage 3 makes a compelling case for the urgent need to preserve cultural heritage in the face of the challenges posed by globalization. By recognizing the inherent value of cultural diversity, engaging local communities, developing robust policy frameworks, and fostering public awareness, we can work to ensure that the rich tapestry of human civilization is passed down to future generations. Ultimately, the preservation of cultural heritage is not only a moral imperative, but also a crucial investment in the continued flourishing of humanity as a whole.。
英语美文欣赏2011
英语美文欣赏2011Life Is Not Only About WorkA long time ago, there was an emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he liked, then the emperor would give him the area of land he would have covered.Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much as possible. Finally, the horseman came to a point where he had covered a substantial area but was exhausted and dying. He asked himself, “ Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I need only a very small area to bury myself.”The story above is similar with the journey of our life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health, time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauties and the hobbies we love. One day when we look back, we will realize that we don’t really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.Life is not only about making money, acquiring power or recognition. Life is definitely not only about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauties and pleasures of life. Life is a balance of work and play. You have to decide how you want to balance your life. Define your priorities, and realize what you are able to compromise. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim of humanexistence. So, take it easy! Do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile; life is short. Do not take life for granted. Livea balanced lifestyle and enjoy life!2.Choose to Live Without Limits-Nick VujicicMany people look at me and simply see a man with no arms and legs. They pity me, failing to see my happiness beyond my circumstances—failing to see that I live a zealous life, characterized by a deep joy that is unhindered by my circumstances. Although I appear “incomplete” on the outside, I am whole on the inside. Sadly, there are so many people with arms and legs who are whole on the outside but are broken on the inside. Their lives are characterized by unhappiness, dissatisfaction and unfulfillment. My mission in life is to resurrect strength in these individuals, inspire them to fulfill their potential and motivate them to live life without limits!Having been born without limbs, I travelled a long road of unanswered questions. I traveled this road for so long that I eventually fell into a deep depression, telling myself that I could only survive as a burden to those around me. I felt like an inconvenience to my parents and a nobody at school. Although I was able to experience the ground-breaking opportunity of being the first “disabled”student to be integrated into Australian mainstream classrooms. I hated my life. Kids were kids, and I was ridiculed and humiliated. Teasing and rejection became the daily norm for me.Although I had many friends, my life consisted of so much daily bullying that I believed my life had two purposes: to be teased and to be a burden to others. My parents loved me and did their best to raise me and my two younger“ normal”siblings in love, support and encouragement. They helped me believe that there was a future and a hope for my life. They believed in God, but it was a god that I could not understand at the time. How could I have a future for my life when I could not see one? At age eight, my desperation led me to tell my mom that I wanted to kill myself. At age 10, I tried. Finally having had enough of life, I went to the bathtub and rolled over. Once…twice… three ti mes. The third time, I could not do it. I could not stomach the visual of my parents and siblings crying at my grave, asking “why?” and blaming themselves. Can you imaging if Ididn’t stick around in this life? I had no idea that I would complete a double-degree in Accounting and Financial Planning, or that I could type 43 words a minute, or by age 27 I’d be a world-traveler, meeting Presidents and speaking to crowds as large as 110.000 people. I had no idea that I would found two organizations, give to the needy and address four internationally-based congresses. Who could have imagined that a man without arms or legs would be the hands and feet of love, hugging teenagers around the world, telling them that they are loved, making them believe that there is hope and future for their lives?I hope helping people see that their value is not determined by their religion, looks, wealth or job. I love helping them embrace a genuine satisfaction in living, a peace in belonging, and an inspiration to believe that a rich man can be poor, and a poor man can be rich. Each of us can live a life of fulfillment despite our circumstances. We have a daily choice: we can choose to be angry about what we do not have, or we can choose to be thankful for we do have. Being angry is counterproductive and fear and pain can bedestructive. I believe it is far worse to be in a broken home than to have no limbs. I never try to pretend that I understand your pain, but I am here to tell you that there is hope, whether you see it or not. Just because you cannot see purpose in your life ,it doesn’t mean there isnone. You are here for a reason. Find it. Seek it. Live it. If my life’s journey can inspire you to live life to the fullest, never give up, dream big and believe in your potential. I am fulfilled. Why? Because I have come to understand that even when the clouds I my personal storm do not part, I can still carry someone else through their storm. I do not get a miracle, I can still be a miracle for someone else.Today, I challenge you. If this was your last day to live, who would you call? Who would you thank? What would you say you have taken for granted? Do your best. Set goals. That is success.3. Life Change at the Last MinuteLife is a work in progress. I’m not sure of the source f or that quote, but it rings true with me. Some argue that people don’t change; as our bodies develop, plateau, and then decline towards death, our spirits need not. We do have a too-human aversion to change, preferring the comfort of our old ways, even if these ways do us no good. Like the worn security blanket that Linus carried everywhere in the Peanuts cartoon, we take refuge in tattered habits. Yet, we are constantly writing and editing the story of our lives until the day when we die.My father’s face was so peaceful and full of naked and undisguised love, and then I got it: my father had always loved me fully but had been unable to show it, choosing to hide it deep withinhimself. Now with both his and my own efforts, he droppedall the veils and gave me the most precious gift in the world, one I feel unbelievably blessed to have received. The brief moment of his full love was so powerful that it seemed to make up for years of going without it.Three days later, my father died in his sleep at home, his heart open. Together, we worked until the very end to reshape and edit our father-daughter story, and we managed to give it a happy ending.4. My Big Sister YI YiShe is 17, in college, and her name is Yi Yi. In a couple of seconds you will read all about my big sister. Yi YI loves to laugh, take me to cool places, and she is very responsible about things.Yi Yi is always very responsible. When she was in high school, all her teachers loved her in their classes. Yi Yi passed in her homework on time. She never missed one day. Another thing that makes YiYi responsible is that she does not need to be told twice about doing anything. If my mom asks her to take the garbage out, she would get right on it. On the holidays we have days off. So Yi Yi comes home from college and cooks whatever I want for lunch. Anything! If we don’t have the ingredients, we go to the supermarket together and buy whatever it is that we need. Yi Yi always listens to other people. She follows directions very well. My sister is the most responsibleperson I know!Yi Yi is extremely friendly. She is always nice, and never mean! She will help anybody who is emotionally hurt or physically hurt. People love to be around Yi Yi because she is always in a good mood. Each time you see her, she has a big, huge smile on her face. She smiles so much! Sometimes I wonder if that smile is ever going to get stuck! Yi Yi loves to make other people laugh. She once said to me. “ Hearing people laugh makes me feel so good inside!”All her friends adore how much Yi Yi likes to make people happy. What is best about Yi Yi is that she cares about everyone around her. She will help you and make sure you would have tons of fun.Yi Yi loves to drive around Glastonbury. She does not have her own car, so she often uses m y mom’s car. I love it when Yi Yi takes me to places, for instance, shopping at the mall. We go to all different stores and shops for clothes and little, tiny and colored accessories. After that, we go to a restaurant for lunch. Yi Yi usually takes me to P anera’s. I get a chicken noodle soup and a smoked turkey sandwich. We talk about what we bought and decide where we should go next. Yi Yi thinks that we should go to Cold Stone for dessert. She lets me choose on what I want to get and gives me awesome suggestions on what topping I should get. She would say that Graham crackers would make ice cream crunchy when mixed with it. Sometimes I alsohave other places I need to go to. If I have a piano lesson or maybe swimming team practice, Yi Yi always makes sure that I have a terrific time.I wish everyone could have a sister like mine: as responsible, friendly and as helpful! But don’t get any idea about stealing mine! She is already taken!5. An Interview with Peter BuffettQ:There is a common phenomenon in China for the Chinese parents. They generally take their children to various extracurricular lessons like ballet, piano, painting, maths, taekwondo and so on. So Chinese children are really tired. I have been here in New York for 10 months but I didn’t see Ame rican parents are doing like that. What’s your opinion about that?PB: It strikes me whether the East or the West, they are curious and want to go that direction as if they are supposed to end up in a competition to have the best child. And the most interesting thing is that China now seems to be emulating the West in some way.As China is rising, the west is figure about how to emulate China. I feel like we are in a loop of competition. But the core is that whether wanting your child to be the best pianist or whether wanting the country to be the best country, I would love to find the way to break that cycle and recognize the cooperation and working together would ultimately lead to much better outcome than the concept that we have to be the best. Q: Then would you share with us about how you educate your own children?PB: Well, I am lucky that I have the example and I can live by that example. What I can have as the reference point is my own experience. One thing is to say something; another is to say with some experience and say it with action. I can tell my children. The conversation can be very difficult. Very emotional. The reason it is emotional is because they are real. I’m not trying to say this will bringyou own good or something. I just trying to say this is my own experience. So that’s really why I wrote the book. I’m not trying to give advice; I am trying to tell my story in a way that might be helpful. So with my own kids I am trying to do that too.I remember I was once in tight spot and I wanted my dad to help me financially. But he knew I could do it. And I had to work through that and in fact I did do it. I went to the bank and got the loan, and worked harder and got through the months. When you look back at it, you say, “wow, I did that. I am capable of doing that.” Those are critical moments. I know that if my dadjust wrote me a check somewhere in the back of my mind I would always wonder: “Can I make it myself?”I will doubt myself and my ability, and there is absolutely no substitute for your own experience and for your own learning.Q: But I want to know, were you a little bitangry when your father refused you? Because as a Chinese, I would think, you are my father; you are the person who loves me the most, but at this critical moment you refuse to help me!PB: And I would say there was more sadness than anger. Usually behind anger there is often sadness. I was sad, because the very thing you say, Gee, why won’t you? It was indeed very hard, but someone speaks the truth. There is sadness and anger, but you know you feel the truth in there and you have to work it through. I wouldn’t say he was always right but I knew his conviction was true. He didn’t want the money. He didn’t say it is good to you. You should get out of it. But he just said money can get in the way of relationship. Be that little ink drops in the pool of water and it can change everything. It doesn’t matter whether you lend your friends 10 dollars and they never pay you back. Withoutmoney, the relationship can be established just based on who the other person is. Frustrated, angry, sad as I might have been, I went it through. Then when you look back, You say ,” Boy, he was sure right!”Q: You know, Peter, with the fast economic development, some Chinese families are getting extremely rich in recent years. However, the entrepreneurial hardships of the first generation might well lead to their indulgence of their children. If you were in their shoes, what would you do? Any suggestions to these Chinese parents?PB: ……….Q: I know you and Jeffery are managing your NOVO Foundation with its main focus on helping girls, mostly in underprivileged nations. Why girls? Why not boys?PB: ……….Q: Peter, I believe your mother also plays an important role in your life. Would you say something about her?PB: I sometimes point out that people always talk about my dad. Of course what he does is honoring the society. My mother in general is like a teacher who hasn’t got the honor she really should. My mother really shows me that everyone has something to teach. Everyone’s story has value and you can learn from everyone. There is such dimensionality in every single person and in fact that reflects the landscape of humanity. From people around you, you can learn more about yourself. My mother is more of a listener, and she knows how to ask a question.。

Life Is Not Only About WorkA long time ago, there was an emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he liked, then the emperor would give him the area of land he would have covered.Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim of human existence. So, take it easy! Do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile; life is short. Do not take life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy life!2.Choose to Live Without Limits-Nick VujicicMany people look at me and simply see a man with no arms and legs. My parents loved me and did their best to raise me and my two younger “ normal”siblings in love, support and encouragement. Once…twice… three times. Who could have imagined that a man without arms or legs would be the hands and feet of love, hugging teenagers around the world, telling them that they are loved, making them believe that there is hope and future for their lives? I hope helping people see that their value is not determined by their religion, looks, wealth or job. Being angry is counterproductive and fear and pain can be destructive. I’m not sure of the source for that quote, but it rings true with me.
