Good morning everyone. It is my great honor to be here to present my lesson. Today I’ll talk about Unit 2 Is your food and drink healthy? from Junior English Book 1. My contents consist of 7 parts:
Part1. Analysis of the students
part2. Analysis of the teaching materials
part3. Teaching objectives
part4. Teaching model
part5. Teaching aids
part6. Teaching procedure
part7. Optional activity and homework
Part 1 Analysis of the students
These students who have come into middle school recently. They are exposed to English for the first time , so it is very important to develop their keen interest in English . It is necessary to use assistant teaching methods to arouse their attention。

Part 2 Analysis of the teaching materials The topic of this module is Healthy food, this unit is talk about the students' favorite food and healthy food . I will make good use of this topic to carry out various educational activities, then help the students improve their understanding of healthy food and cultivate the healthy eating habits.
Part 3 Teaching objectives
Next I’ll talk ab out teaching objectives.
1. Linguistic objectives
By the end of the class ,the students will be able to: (1) Use key vocabulary and key phrases from the text to describe what are healthy food;
(2)Use conjunctions but link sentences and clarify its meaning.
2. Strategic objectives
By the end of this class, the students will be able to develop the top-down reading skills and learn to find out difficult points themselves.
3. Emotional objectives
By the end of this class, the students will be able to capture information about healthy eating and cultivate the consciousness of a healthy diet by reading the passage about healthy food.
Part 4 Teaching model
Let’s move on to another part, teaching model. As we all know, one of the main instruction aims of learning english in Junior high school is to improve students’ comprehensive ability. So in this lesson I choose the Three-stage model. This model can help students develop their reading strategies and increase their language efficiency in general. The three stages are pre-reading, while-reading and post-reading.
Part 5 Teaching aids
In this class, I use PPT, blackboard, chalk, computer, , pictures, box.
I use paper、box and blackboard for activities or games. Using computer, I can present the lesson more coherently.
Part 6 Teaching procedure
Pre-reading
1. I ask students to answer whether the food healthy or not in order to activate their background knowledge they have known;
2. Show some pictures of food and drink on PPT to attract their attention.
3. Review the text of Unit 1 to review the words.
While-reading
1. Skimming: The purpose is to get the main ideas of the
text. Letting students divide the text into
several parts and write down the main
idea on the blackboard can cultivate their
ability of analysis and summary.
2. Scanning:
① Part 1: I Provide some pictures on a box,ask Ss to
draw a picture and say it is a healthy food or
an unhealthy food. The activity can let me
know the extent of the knowledge students
acquire, then I will show the correct way of
those food are healthy or not on the PPT.
Let students to enhance memory.
②Part 2: After letting students list the healthy food
which are good for your eyes/teeth.I divide
the whole class into 2 groups, Each group
sent seven students to play the words game
on the blackborad.The quick group is the
winner.In this Competition way, it can
improve students' learnning motivation.
③ Part 3: After learning this part, students can learn
what is the healthy advice from the
text.And let them Brainstorming their own
healthy advice.
Post-reading
1. Competition: I till divide the whole class into 2
groups, and give some statements one
by one, and ask Ss to tell whether the
sentences are “ True ” or “False” .
The group which can give the correct
answer first can be gotten one mark.
Accumulated to a certain fraction can
be exchanged for ing the
activity is to consolidate what
students have learnt. The competition
can inspir e the students’ passion,
active the atmosphere of the class,
and train students’ ability of
cooperation.
2. Ask and answer in pairs.
I ask students to talk about What is your favourite food and drink?Are they healthy?in pairs to practice their oral ability.
3.Join the sentences with but.Let student can use but skillfully.
Part 7 Optional activity and homework
I design the optional activity guess the word let students to understand and master what they have learned.About homework, it could let students know how to stay healthy.。
