而本单元的话题是谈论习俗，通过用新的目标语言：be supposed to do sth来谈论，让学生知道那些事应该做的，哪些是不应该做的。
在表达“应该做与不应该做”时两种方法都行，所以在学生掌握了“谈论习俗”的基本用法后就能够运用新的目标语言进行交际，来谈论各国的不同的文化习俗。
