四 语义题

找到该词或短语所在的句子。 确定词性
确定词性以及单词、短语等在句子中所起的语法 作用，明确整个句子的含义。 联系上下文分析 对上下文进行分析，确定上下文中是否有该词的 定义、同义词、近义词或反义词，从而可以判断 出正确答案。 根据上下文逻辑关系 联系日常生活中的有关常识，分析出合理的场景 因素推断单词或短语的含义。
二主旨题
确定文章有无主题句，以及主题句在文
文章的主题句通常位于首段或尾段，有时也出现在文 章的中间段落。段落的主题句通常位于段首或段尾， 有时也在段落的中间。 如有主题句 就能很容易确定文章或段落的主题。 如果没有明显的主题句 就带着问题细读文章的首段和尾段找出其中心，抓住 每个段落的主题句，明确文章的中心思想。 注意：如 果文章主旨题出现在第一题，先不要做这道题，把后 面的题做完后再回头做第一题，这样可以节省很多时 间。

一：解题步骤:Step1
阅读题目预测文章内容，在 题目中划出定位词
预测题目目的：是指在阅读正文前， 正确理解题目所表达的内容,对文章进 行的预测性的主动思维。应该先读题目， 后看文章，同时根据题目设想一下文章 可能涉及的内容，以及所使用的词汇量 的类型与范围。
The report qualifies the more optimistic findings of another new paper which suggests that the world will not have to dig up a lot more land for farming in order to feed 9 billion people in 2050，as the Food and Agriculture Organisation has argued． Instead，it says， thanks to slowing population growth，land currently ploughed up for crops might be able to revert(回返)to forest or wilderness．This could happen．The trouble is that the forecast assumes continued improvements in yields which may not actually happen 61．What does the author try to draw attention to? 查读(Scanning): 目的主要是为了从大量 的资料中迅速查找某一项具体事实或某一项 特定信息,如数字、时间、人名、地名等。 在查读时 , 目光要 自上而下 、一目数行地寻 视与答题内容相关的词句 ,与此无关的内容要 很快略过（略读）。在最短的时间内掠过尽 可能多的印刷材料,找到所需要的信息。

Passage One Some of the world’s most significant problems never hit headlines．One example comes from agriculture．Food riots and hunger make news ．But the trend lying behind these matters is rarely talked about．This is the decline in the growth in yields of some of the world’s major crops ．A new study by the University of Minnesota and McGill University in Montreal looks at where．and how far．this decline is occurring． The authors take a vast number of data points for the four most important crops ：rice，wheat，corn and soyabeans(大豆)．They find that on between 24 ％ and 39％ of all harvested areas ，the improvement in yields that took place before the l980s slowed down in the l990s and 2000s．

There are two worrying features of the slowdown ． One is that it has been particularly sharp in the world’s most populous( 人口多 的 )countries ， India and China ． Their ability to feed themselves has been an important source of relative stability both within the countries and on world food markets ． That self-sufficiency cannot be taken for granted if yields continue to slow down or reverse ． Second ， yield growth has been lower in wheat and rice than in coll and soyabeans ． This is problematic because wheat and rice are more important as foods ， accounting for around half of all calories consumed ． Corn and soyabeans are more important as feed grains ． The authors note that“we have preferentially focused our crop improvement efforts on feeding animals and cars rather than on crops that feed people and are the basis of food security in much of the world ．”
