ⅠDirections: For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write a composition on the topic It Pays to Be Honest. You should write no less than 150 words according to the outline given below in Chinese:1.当前社会上存在许多不诚实的现象2.诚实利人利已,做人应该诚实参考范文It Pays to Be HonestAlthough honesty is believed to be a virtue, there are still dishonest people in our society. For example, some businessmen sell fake product to their consumers; some students cheat in the exams.Dishonest people are short-sighted. Those who sell fake products may make money at first, but consumers won’t buy their products any more. As a result, they will lose their fortune or even be sent to prison. By contrast, honest people gain a lot. Those who always tell truth or keep to their promise not only let others trust them but gain respect from other people as well. Such persons are sure to have a lot of good friends. Because they are trustable and respectable, everyone is eager to make friends with them. Besides, it is easier for a person with a good record to get a good job. Generally speaking, every employer wants his employees to be honest. So we can say that anyone who is honest will be paid back later. In a word, honesty wins trust, respect and honor. So it is important that we should be honest.ⅡDirections:For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write a composition on the topic:Practice Makes Perfect. You should write at least 120 words and you should base your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below.1. 怎样理解“熟能生巧”?2. 例如:在英语学习中.....3. 又如......参考范文Practice Makes PerfectThe famous saying “Practice makes perfect” is widely accepted today. It means if we practice unfamiliar things again and again, we’ll be able to perform it perfectly. The practice of learning English is a good example. We are not living in an English speaking country. So, in order to learn it well, we need extra practice, such as reading English books, going to English corners, or communicating with foreigners. Only sitting at the desk cannot lead to the mastery of English. As another example, if we want to be skilled in using the computer, we also need to practice using it. Some children become little experts in computer, just because they play with it everyday. On the contrary, if we just stick to books, we will still feel confused when using computers. Judging from the evidence offered, we might safely draw the conclusion that practice makes perfect.ⅢDirections: For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write a composition on the topic: Reading Selectively Or Extensively? You should write at least 120 words and you should base your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below.1. 有人认为读书要有选择2. 有人认为应当博览群书3. 我的看法参考范文Reading Selectively Or Extensively? Some people think when we read we should read selectively. That is to say, we should select some books we are interested in and ignore the others. Reading selectively can help us concentrate our limited time and attentionon those selected books.Others think we should read extensively. No matter what kind of book it is, we should look it over. We should read various kinds of books, whether we are interested in them or not. They maintain that reading extensively can help to enlarge our view and grasp the general knowledge in different fields. In my opinion, the two reading ways have their roles respectively in our reading. However, the disadvantages of each method are easy to see. If we only read the books we select or prefer, the framework of our knowledge may not be complete. Our knowledge would be rather limited. And if we read without selection, we may not have so much time and energy to be specialized in one particular field. Therefore, the combination of the two methods is more reasonableⅣDirections: For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write a composition on the topic: Harmfulness of Fake Commodities You should write at least 120 words and you should base your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below.1. 目前社会上有不少假冒伪劣商品(fake commodities)。

机会总是青睐有准备的人英语作文

机会总是青睐有准备的人英语作文

机会总是青睐有准备的人英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Opportunity Always Favors the PreparedHello everyone! My name is Emma and I'm going to tell you all about how being prepared helps you take advantage of opportunities in life. This is something I've learned from experience, and I think it's a really important lesson that can help you succeed. You might be wondering - what do I mean by being "prepared"? Well, it means getting ready ahead of time for things instead of waiting until the last minute. Like studying for a test instead of playing video games until bedtime the night before. Or packing your soccer gear the evening before your big game rather than scrambling around in the morning. Being prepared means thinking ahead and getting organized!I'll give you an example from my own life of how being prepared helped me. Last year, my class had a big science fair competition. The winners would get to go on a really cool field trip to the science museum. I really, really wanted to win and goon that field trip. So do you know what I did? I started working on my project almost two months before it was due!Every day after school, I would spend an hour or two researching my topic, designing my experiment, and getting my presentation ready. While my friends were watching TV or playing outside, I was hard at work getting prepared. Was it easy? No way! I had to make a lot of sacrifices and put in a ton of effort. But it was worth it.When the science fair finally came around, I was totally ready. My experiment was done perfectly, my presentation looked great, and I knew everything about my topic inside and out. I could explain it to the judges confidently. A lot of the other kids seemed flustered and underprepared on the day of the fair. Their projects were rushed or they didn't understand their own experiments fully.Guess what happened? I won first place! My hard work and preparation paid off big time. I got to go on that amazing field trip with a few other winners. We had a blast learning about science in such a fun, interactive way. It's a day I'll never forget. That's just one example, but there are so many others ways that being prepared has helped me out in life so far. Like the time I aced my math test because I had studied the conceptsthoroughly for weeks rather than cramming at the last second. Or when I made the travel baseball team because I had practiced and trained way harder than the other kids trying out.Opportunities are all around us in life, but they're no good if you aren't ready to seize them. That's why it's so important to always be prepared - whether it's for a test, competition, performance, or anything else important. Here are some of my top tips for how to be a prepared person:Make a plan far in advance for whatever you need to prepare for. Don't leave things until the last minute!Break down your overall goal into smaller, manageable steps that you can check off one-by-one as you prepare. If you need to study or practice something, make a schedule and stick to it rigorously until you've mastered the material.Get rid of distractions and make preparation your top priority for a period of time. That might mean no TV, video games, going out with friends, etc.Gather all the materials, equipment, or resources you need well before you need them so you aren't rushing at the end.Practice communicating or presenting your prepared work out loud. Being prepared isn't just doing the work - it's about performing it perfectly too!Don't be afraid to ask for help from teachers, parents, or coaches as you prepare. It's okay not to know everything as long as you're trying.Stay positive and confident in yourself. Negativity will undermine all your preparation. Believe you can do it!I know preparation isn't always fun. It takes hard work, discipline, and sacrifice to get truly prepared for something important. Trust me, I'd much rather be playing than spending hours studying or working on a project some days! But I've learned that when I put in that hard work of preparing, amazing things happen. Doors open, opportunities arise, and I get to experience really cool things.Meanwhile, I see other kids who goof off instead of preparing. They watch as I and other prepared kids get chances that they miss out on. They don't put in the effort up front, so they aren't ready when an opportunity comes along. How sad to see someone with potential miss out just because they didn't prepare! I never want that to happen to me.So from here on out, I'm going to keep on preparing and working hard every single day. I'm going to get ready for that middle school entrance exam coming up. I'm going to start training like crazy so I can make the competitive soccer team. I'm going to read as many books as I can so I'm prepared to be a great writer. With preparation as my secret weapon, I know I can achieve whatever I set my mind to. The kids who slack off don't stand a chance against us prepared people!Opportunity doesn't just randomly knock on anyone's door. Nope - opportunity favors the prepared ones among us. It opens its doors for those who have done the hard work and are ready to walk through. Thanks to what I've learned so far in my young life, I plan on being one of the prepared that opportunities smile upon. How about you? I hope you'll join me so we can seize every opportunity that comes our way!篇2Opportunity Knocks for Those Who are ReadyHave you ever heard the saying "Opportunity favors the prepared"? It means that chances and lucky breaks often come to people who have worked hard and made themselves ready for them. I've seen this to be true in my own life as a kid, eventhough I'm still pretty young. Let me share some examples with you.One time, my friend Sally was struggling in math class. She just couldn't seem to get the hang of fractions and kept failing the quizzes. Rather than giving up, Sally started staying after school for extra tutoring sessions with our teacher Mr. Patel. She also did tons of extra practice problems at home every night. At first it was really tough, but eventually it all started clicking for her. Then, our school announced they were having a math competition with a scholarship prize for the winner. Most kids didn't even want to enter because they thought the questions would be too hard. But Sally had been preparing so hard that she decided to give it a try. Sure enough, all her extra work paid off - she aced the competition and won the scholarship! If Sally hadn't put in all that effort to get better at fractions, she never would have been ready for the opportunity of the math competition when it came along. Opportunity favored the prepared student. Here's another example: My friend Marcus has always loved baseball and dreamed of playing on a travel team someday. For years, he practiced his hitting, throwing and fielding as much ashe possibly could. He also worked on building strength and speed by exercising regularly. Marcus prepared himself to be the best player he could be.Then one season, there was an open tryout for the city's elite travel baseball team. Even though Marcus was a little nervous, he went for it since he had been getting himself ready for years. His hard work showed, and he made the team! If Marcus had just sat around hoping and wishing instead of working hard, he wouldn't have been prepared when his big opportunity arrived.I've learned this lesson myself too. Last year, I really wanted a lead role in our school musical, but I'm actually a pretty shy kid who gets stage fright. Instead of avoiding it though, I made sure to practice public speaking as much as possible. I volunteered to do classroom presentations, speak at assemblies, and even took a drama class at the community center. When the musical auditions came around, I was as ready as I could be. I gave it my best shot and, you'll never believe it, but I got the lead role! The music teacher told me later that she could see how much work I had put into preparing and feeling confident on stage. An opportunity presented itself, and thankfully I was prepared for it.On the other hand, I've also had experiences where I missed out on chances because I didn't prepare properly. A few years ago, I really wanted to get my green belt in karate. But instead of practicing my martial arts skills and studying hard, I just kind of coasted along, sometimes practicing but sometimes not. When the test came, I failed because I wasn't ready. The opportunity was there, but it passed me by since I wasn't adequately prepared.Looking back, I realize how often opportunities come along for kids like me if we take the time to get ready for them. It could be doing well on an important test, making a sports team, or getting a special role in the school play. Whatever it is, those chances usually go to the students who have practiced, worked hard, and made sure they are prepared when an opportunity arises.Of course, sometimes unexpected situations or pure luck can help pull some unprepared people ahead. But more often than not, it's the people who put in the effort ahead of time who get to take advantage of opportunities that come their way. It's like my dad says: "The harder you work, the luckier you get." Simply hoping and wishing for something probably won't make it happen. You have to put in the effort to get yourself ready first. So if there's something you really want - to get better grades, to make a sports team, to earn a special award or recognition - don't just wait around and hope you get lucky someday. Figure out what skills and preparation you need, then start working towards it right away with effort and discipline. Study hard, practice diligently, and prepare yourself as best you can. That way, when an opportunity related to your goal finally does come knocking, you'll be ready to jump through that open door and seize it with both hands.Maybe you dream of becoming a scientist and discovering an amazing new invention someday. Well, you can start preparing now by studying science like crazy, doing lots of experiments, entering contests, and learning everything you can. That way, when the chance to make a groundbreaking discovery eventually comes along, you'll be positioned to take advantage of it because you took the time to get prepared.Opportunities are all around us, but they often favor the people who have made themselves ready to jump at them when they appear. So remember: if you want to turn your dreams into reality, start preparing today and work as hard as you can. That way, when the chance you've been waiting for finally arises, you'llbe able to seize it and make the most of the amazing opportunity in front of you. Opportunity follows preparation!篇3Opportunity Knocks for Those Who Are ReadyHave you ever heard the saying "Opportunity favors the prepared"? It means that chances and good luck tend to come to people who work hard and get themselves ready, rather than to those who just sit around waiting for things to happen. I know it might sound like one of those boring old sayings that adults are always repeating, but I've seen it be true in my own life already at my young age. Let me tell you a few stories to show you what I mean.Last year, our class was putting on a big play for the whole school. I really, really wanted one of the main roles - I dreamed of being the lead princess or the brave knight. But I knew the competition would be tough. A bunch of other kids wanted those big roles too. So rather than just hoping for the best, I prepared as much as I could. I spent weeks practicing different voices and expressions. I ran lines with my parents over and over until I had them memorized perfectly. I even made my own littlecostume pieces like a cardboard sword and a crown made of aluminum foil. When it came time to audition, I gave it my absolute best effort. And you know what? My hard work and preparation paid off - I got the role of the brave knight! If I had just winged it without any practice, there's no way I would have gotten such an amazing part. Opportunity smiled on me because I was prepared.Or what about last summer when my family went on a big hiking and camping trip? We were all really excited because we were going to spend a whole week in the beautiful mountains. But my parents kept warning me and my brothers that the hiking was going to be pretty challenging with some very steep climbs. Instead of ignoring them like I usually do when they nag me about stuff, I actually listened this time. For weeks ahead of the trip, I exercised by going on long walks around our neighborhood to build up my endurance. I worked on strengthening my leg muscles by doing squats and lunges. I drank tons of water to stay hydrated. You could say I got totally prepared, both physically and mentally. Then on the second day of our camping trip, we hit an absolutely grueling uphill trail that seemed to go on forever. Mylazy brothers could barely make it a mile before they had to stop and take breaks every five minutes because their legs felt like jelly. Not me though - thanks to all my preparation, I was able to power right up that mountain with my parents, stopping only for a few quick snack breaks. At the top, we were rewarded with an incredible view that took my breath away. If I hadn't prepared properly, I would have missed out on that amazing experience. Once again, opportunity came my way because of my hard work ahead of time.My final example actually just happened a few weeks ago. You see, we had a huge math test coming up that I was feeling really stressed about. Instead of waiting until the last minute to start studying like some kids in my class, I spent several weeks reviewing ALL the material we had covered, re-working practice problems from our textbook over and over until I understood every single type of problem. I made flashcards. I asked my teacher for extra help when I got stuck. I watched tutorial videos online. You get the picture - I prepared like crazy. When the day of the test arrived, I felt so calm and ready. And sure enough, I rocked that test, getting one of the highest scores in my class! Afterwards, my teacher even asked me to share my study tips with the other students who didn't prepareas much. See, my hard work created an opportunity to be successful AND to be a role model for my classmates. That never would have happened if I had slacked off and went into the test unprepared. So there you have it - three clear examples from my own life of how opportunity favors the prepared. Every single time I put in real effort to get ready beforehand, I was rewarded with a great chance at success, whether it was landing a dream role, experiencing something incredible in nature, or just totally rocking an important test. The opposite was also true though - any times where I didn't prepare and just winged it, I didn't get those opportunities. Like when I forgot to practice my times tables and then totally bombed that math quiz. Or when I didn't study for my spelling test and got a D. Missed opportunities, all because of laziness and lack of preparation.I think there's an important lesson here for all of us kids, but really for people of any age. If you want good things and exciting opportunities to come your way in life, you have to work hard and prepare yourself as best you can. It's not enough to simply wait around for chance or luck to fall into your lap. You have to make your own luck by getting ready.Does that mean you'll always get everything you want just because you prepared? Of course not - sometimes bad things happen no matter how hard you try. But from my experience so far, putting in the effort ahead of time gives you a way better chance at being successful. Opportunity loves to knock on the door for people who have prepared the way.So moving forward, I'm going to keep doing my homework and studying hard for tests. I'll keep practicing whatever new skills I'm trying to learn, whether it's playing basketball, speaking another language, or mastering a video game. I'll work on building myself up physically, mentally, and emotionally to prepare for new challenges. Because I've seen first-hand how much all that preparation matters. It creates opportunities and opens doors that otherwise would have stayed locked. My parents are always telling me "Well done is better than well said." Now I finally understand what they mean by that phrase. It's not enough to just talk about working hard and being prepared. You actually have to go out and DO it by putting in the real work and effort. Then opportunities and successes will follow. Those chances won't be just handed to you on a silver platter. You'll need to earn them through preparation.I might only be a kid, but I feel like I've figured out one of life's most important secrets - opportunity favors the prepared. So I plan to spend the rest of my childhood, and really my whole life, embodying that idea as best I can. By approaching everything, whether it's school, sports, hobbies, or future careers, with a hard-working, diligent, well-prepared mindset, I know amazing opportunities will keep presenting themselves to me over and over again. I'll be ready to seize them every single time.。

My View on Opportunity1.有的人认为机会是极少的,另一些人则认为人人都会有某种机会。

2.我的看法……3.结论.Different people have different views on opportunity. Some people think that there are few opportunities in the world, while others argue that everybody will have some kind of opportunity along his life route。

As far as I am concerned, I agree with the latter opinion. For one thing,I firmly believe opportunities are everywhere around us。

No person will be unlucky enough to have no opportunities all the time, because “every dog has his day"。

For another, since opportunities are transient, we have to make good preparations and improve ourselves。

Just think of Newton, who discovered the Law of Gravity when many people had watched an apple falling ahead of them。

Taking all these factors into consideration, we may safely come to the conclusion that there are quite a few opportunities in our society. Only if we get prepared can we seize the opportunities instead of letting them slip by, just as the saying goes, “Opportunities are only for the prepared minds.”My View on Job—Hopping1.有些人喜欢始终从事一种工作,因为……2.有些人喜欢经常换工作,因为……3.我的看法People’s opinions are always different once they talk about job—hopping. Those who never change their jobs throughout their lives maintain that they have accumulated enough experience to work smoothly and efficiently,so what’s the point in changing to another job? They also firmly believe that anyone who wants to excel in his specialty has to work hard on the same post for years to acquire the required skill and knowledge. Many people think otherwise。

Opportunity and Success英语四级作文篇1opportunities don't come often. they come every once in a while. very often, they come quietly and go by without being noticed. therefore ,it is advisable that you should value and treat them with care. when an opportunity comes, it brings a promise but never realizes it on its own. if you want to achieve something or intend to fulfill one of your ambitious, you must work hard, make efforts and get prepared. otherwise, you will take no advantage of opportunities when they come to visit you. the difference between a man who succeeds and one who does not lies only in the way each treats opportunities. the successful person always makes adequate preparations to meet opportunities as they duly arrive. the unsuccessful person, on the other hand, works little and just waits to see them pass by. in my opinion, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone in our society, but only those who are prepared adequately and qualified highly can make use of them to achieve their purpose Opportunity and Success英语四级作文篇2Opportunity is one of the elements of success. But opportunities don’t come often. And not all the opportunities can certainly lead to success. Moreover, opportunities are usually disguised as hard work; therefore most people don’t recognize them. So if you want to achieve something, you must makeefforts and get prepared. Otherwise, you will take no advantage of opportunities when they come to you. In my opinion, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone in our society, but only those who have made enough preparations and are highly talented can make use of them to achieve their purpose. 如何理解机会是留给有准备的人的英语作文

如何理解机会是留给有准备的人的英语作文

如何理解机会是留给有准备的人的英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Opportunity Favors the Prepared MindWe've all heard the saying "opportunity knocks but once." But that's only half the story. The full quote from 17th century philosopher Thomas Vollmer is actually "opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." It's a profound insight – simply having an opportunity present itself is not enough. To truly seize opportunities in life, we must cultivate a "prepared mind" that is ready to put in the hard work when fortune comes knocking. This lesson has been reinforced for me time and again through personal experiences. In 10th grade, I tried out for the lead role in our school musical despite having no prior singing, dancing or acting experience. I didn't make the cut, of course. At the time I was bitterly disappointed, but looking back it's obvious why I missed that "opportunity" – I was utterly unprepared for it.Two years later, an opportunity for a highly competitive summer internship at a prestigious tech company came onto myradar. This time, instead of just blindly grasping at it, I spent months beforehand preparing. I worked tirelessly on coding projects to build my skills, had my essays meticulously edited, and relentlessly researched the company and role. When the opportunity finally arrived, I was ready. My prepared mind allowed me to seize it.Examples like these have driven home for me the crucial distinction between a mere opportunity and a true, prepared-for opportunity. It's made me reexamine conventional wisdom that tells us to "take every opportunity." While optimistically chasing every fleeting chance might seem admirable, I've learned it's often an ineffective way to expend one's finite time and energy.A scattered approach of aimlessly pursuing any possibility rarely leads to fulfillment.Instead, I've come to believe the wiser path is to be highly selective about the opportunities we pursue based on our skills, interests and circumstances. Once we've chosen an opportunity aligned with our deepest values and aspirations, we must then fully commit ourselves to preparing relentlessly andsingle-mindedly for it. With this focused, strategic approach, we maximize our chance of success when that precious opportunity does arise.Of course, developing a prepared mind is much easier said than done. It requires delaying gratification, making sacrifices, and sustaining motivation through periods of intense effort. I've found it immensely beneficial to have a personal "board of advisors" – family members, mentors, and peers who can encourage me, keep me accountable, and remind me of the bigger vision when I start to lose focus.Adopting the right mental frameworks has also been key in my journey to developing a prepared mind. In particular, I've found the concept of an "opportunity mindset" transformative. This is the belief that opportunities are constantly emerging all around us through the natural unfolding of life – we simply need to have the eyes to perceive them and the readiness to capitalize on them. With this perspective, even setbacks or closed doors can be reframed as potential stepping stones or wake up calls urging us to rededicate ourselves to preparation.Another crucial mindset shift has been viewing skills not as innate talents, but as learnable, improvable capabilities through sustained effort – what psychologists call a "growth mindset." Under this paradigm, any inability or lack of preparation I may have is not a permanent deficiency, but simply a signal that more focused preparation is required. With discipline andperseverance, I can steadily increase my ability to seize the opportunities that arise.Of course, no amount of diligent preparation can guarantee success. Even a fully "prepared mind" may experiencegut-wrenching failure or have the rug pulled out from under it by factors beyond one's control. When this happens, it's natural and healthy to feel disappointment, regret, even grief. But it's important not to become disheartened or let these temporary setbacks erode one's belief in the vital importance of striving to be prepared. After all, many of history's most iconic successes were built on perseverance through repeated failures and setbacks. J.K. Rowling famously had her Harry Potter manuscript rejected dozens of times before finding a publisher. Oprah was fired from an early job because she "wasn't a good fit" for TV. Michael Jordan didn't make his high school varsity basketball team as a sophomore. In each case, the individual's preparation and commitment enabled them to dust themselves off, recalibrate, and continue pushing forward until their ultimate breakthrough. At its core, the principle of the "prepared mind" is about taking radical篇2Opportunity Knocks, But Only for Those Who Are ReadyThey say that opportunity knocks only once, but I've come to realize that's not entirely true. Opportunities arise all the time, but they often go unnoticed by those who aren't prepared to seize them. As a student, I've learned that success isn't just about working hard – it's about being prepared to take advantage of the right opportunities when they present themselves.I'll never forget the first time this concept really sank in for me. It was the summer before my junior year of high school, and I had been working hard to get good grades and build an impressive resume. One day, my English teacher reached out about a prestigious writing competition she thought I'd be perfect for. Part of me wanted to dismiss it – after all, I was just a high school student going up against people from all over the country. But another part of me realized this was exactly the kind of opportunity I had been preparing for. With encouragement from my teacher and family, I decided to go for it.For weeks, I poured my heart and soul into that writing submission. I did research, wrote drafts, got feedback, and refined my work until it was the absolute best it could be. Andyou know what? I ended up winning the whole thing. It was an incredible feeling, made even better by the fact that I knew my preparedness and hard work had paid off when the right opportunity came along. That experience taught me a powerful lesson about the relationship between preparation and opportunity that has stuck with me ever since. You can't just wait around for opportunities to fall into your lap – you have to actively prepare yourself so that when an opportunity arises, you're ready to seize it with both hands. In school, this means studying diligently, building a knowledge base, and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It means going above and beyond to develop expertise in your areas of interest. When an interesting project, internship, or scholarship opportunity is posted, you'll be prepared to craft a stellar application because you've done the hard work upfront. The opportunity doesn't create preparedness – preparedness allows you to capitalize on the opportunity. This principle extends far beyond academics too. In extracurriculars, it might mean putting in the practice hours to sharpen your skills as an athlete, musician, or performer. That way, when an elite team or competitive opportunity rolls around, you'll have what it takes to shine. In your personal life, being prepared could mean developing strong communication abilities so you can take advantage of networking opportunities that could lead to jobs or connections down the line. The key is to always be working on yourself, following your passions, and gathering the tools and experiences you'll need to be prepared for whatever opportunities may come your way. It's about adopting a mindset of continuous learning, growth, and skills development. When you live this way, you'll start to notice opportunities you never saw before because you'll have the framework to recognize them.Of course, preparedness alone isn't enough – you also have to actually take the leap when an opportunity presents itself. It's normal to feel nervous or intimidated, especially if it's a big, stretch opportunity. I've been there many times, filled with doubts and insecurities. In those moments, I remind myself of all the work I've put in to get to this point. I am prepared, and I owe it to myself to put that preparation to use. There have been times when I've hesitated on an opportunity, only to see it slip through my fingers to someone else who was ready to charge forward. Missed opportunities like that are tough, but they're also powerful motivators to prepareeven harder for the next one. The reality is that opportunities come and go – if you aren't prepared to seize one, you'd better be ready for the next.Preparing for opportunities isn't just about achieving specific goals like getting into a top university or landing a dream job (although those are great outcomes). It's also about challenging yourself, stepping out of your comfort zone, and giving yourself a chance to grow. Some of the greatest opportunities have been the ones that scared me at first but ended up expanding my skills and worldview. Putting yourself out there is uncomfortable, but it's how you'll uncover opportunities you may have never imagined.Throughout my educational journey so far, I've witnessed countless examples of how preparedness unlocks opportunity. I've seen friends miss out on amazing prospects because they hadn't put in the work, while others have catapulted to incredible new heights thanks to their readiness to seize unexpected chances. I've been on both sides of that coin myself at times. What I've learned is that you can't rely on opportunity alone – it's preparedness that puts you in a position to truly capitalize when opportunity comes knocking. The harder you work, the more expertise and experience you amass, the better preparedyou'll be to turn opportunities into realities. It's a cycle of preparation leading to open doors, which provide new preparation for future opportunities.Ultimately, every individual has to take responsibility for their own preparedness. It's about committing to consistent effort, determination, and personal growth in your areas of interest and strength. When you live with that mindset of constant preparedness, you'll find that opportunities seem to naturally gravitate towards you. It's not about getting lucky – it's about giving yourself the skills and mindset to make your own luck. The road isn't easy, and there will be plenty of struggles, failures, and missed opportunities along the way. But the more prepared you are, the more resilient you'll be to bounce back. You'll start to see those missed chances not as dead-ends but as motivators to get ready for whatever opportunities come next.As I prepare to head off to college soon, I know that my journey of preparedness has only just begun. The academic opportunities ahead will demand an entirely new level of diligence and expertise. The professional opportunities that await after graduation will require expanding my skills and experiences. Every step of the way, I'll keep reminding myself:opportunity is for the prepared. By staying ready, I can make sure I'm able to take full advantage of whatever amazing chances come my way.篇3Sure, here's an essay on "How to Understand that Opportunity Favors the Prepared" written from a student's perspective, around 2000 words long, in English. How to Understand that Opportunity Favors the PreparedAs a student, I've often heard the saying, "Opportunity favors the prepared mind." It's a phrase that has been repeated countless times, but it wasn't until recently that I truly grasped its profound significance. In a world where success is often equated with seizing the right opportunities, understanding this adage is crucial for navigating the challenges and uncertainties that lie ahead. At its core, the concept suggests that those who arewell-prepared, knowledgeable, and equipped with the necessary skills are more likely to recognize and capitalize on opportunities when they present themselves. It's a reminder that success is not merely a matter of luck or chance, but rather the result of diligentpreparation and a willingness to embrace opportunities when they arise.Let me share a personal anecdote that illustrates this principle. Last year, our school hosted a prestigious national debate competition. As an aspiring debater, I had been honing my skills for months, researching topics, practicing my delivery, and developing a deep understanding of various issues. When the competition came around, I was prepared – not just with knowledge, but also with the confidence and poise that come from thorough preparation.During one of the rounds, an unexpected opportunity arose. My opponent made a flawed argument, leaving a glaring hole in their case. In that moment, my preparation paid off. I was able to quickly identify the weakness, construct a compellingcounter-argument, and present it with clarity and conviction. The judges were impressed, and I emerged victorious in that round, ultimately securing a place among the top debaters in the competition. This experience taught me a valuable lesson: without preparation, I would have been ill-equipped to recognize and seize that opportunity. It was my commitment to honing myskills and deepening my understanding that enabled me to capitalize on the moment when it presented itself. The same principle applies to various aspects of life, whether it's academics, extracurricular activities, or future career endeavors. Consider a student who dreams of attending a prestigious university. Simply wishing for an acceptance letter is not enough; they must dedicate themselves to maintaining excellent grades, participating in meaningful extracurricular activities, and crafting a compelling application package. By doing so, they increase their chances of seizing the opportunity when it arises, as admissions committees seek well-rounded and prepared candidates. In the realm of entrepreneurship, the concept rings equally true. Successful entrepreneurs are often those who have spent years developing their expertise, cultivating industry knowledge, and building valuable networks. When a promising business opportunity emerges, they are prepared to capitalize on it, having laid the groundwork through their extensive preparation.Of course, preparation alone is not a guarantee of success. There will always be elements of luck, timing, and external factors beyond our control. However, by being prepared, we increase our chances of recognizing and seizing opportunitieswhen they present themselves, thereby increasing our likelihood of achieving our goals. So, how can we, as students, embrace this principle and position ourselves for success? Here are a few practical tips:Cultivate a growth mindset: Approach every learning experience as an opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and be willing to step out of your comfort zone.Develop a diverse skillset: In today's rapidly changing world, versatility is key. Pursue a well-rounded education that combines academic excellence with extracurricular activities, leadership experiences, and personal development.Stay curious and informed: Keep abreast of developments in your areas of interest, whether it's through reading, attending seminars, or engaging with experts in the field. This will help you identify emerging opportunities and be better prepared to seize them.Build a strong network: Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who can provide support, guidance, and potential opportunities. Attend networking events, join relevant clubs ororganizations, and actively seek out mentors who can share their wisdom and experiences.Embrace a proactive mindset: Don't wait for opportunities to come to you; actively seek them out. Volunteer for projects, apply for internships, or explore entrepreneurial ventures that align with your goals and interests. As I embark on my academic and professional journey, I carry with me the invaluable lesson that opportunity favors the prepared mind. While luck and circumstance may play a role, it is ultimately our dedication to continuous learning, skill development, and readiness that will position us to seize the opportunities that come our way.In a world where change is the only constant, embracing this principle is not just a key to success; it's a way of life. By cultivating a prepared mindset, we equip ourselves with the tools and resilience necessary to navigate the challenges and uncertainties that lie ahead, turning obstacles into opportunities and paving the way for a fulfilling and impactful future.。

版本一:These is no consensus of opinion among people as to how to view opportunity. Some people suggest that opportunities are so rare that only the luckiest persons can obtain them while some other people argue that in a sense everyone has some kind of opportunity from time to timeAs far as I am concerned, I agree with the latter opinion to some extent. As a western saying goes,” Every dog has its day which means everybody has an opportunity to be successful in his or her life. In fact, no one can be denied access to opportunity. Those who claim that they have been out of luck just can't recognize or make good use of opportunities. So, we must try our best to search for and create more opportunities. Let's take Newton, the world-famous scientist, as an example. Before him almost everyone had seen an apple falling from a tree, but only Newton discovered the law of gravity. The reason is that he had developed a good habit of thinking over answers to problems and stuck to his studies in spite of difficulties. This story tells us that a wise man is always creating his opportunity rather than waiting for itIn conclusion, I believe that opportunities are abundant in our society. We can acquire them only if we are well-prepared and qualified. As a -proverb says,” Opportunities are only for the prepared mind."版本二:Different people have different views on opportunity. Some think that there are only few opportunities in this world while others believe that everyone will have one kind of opportunities in his or her life.As far as I am concerned, I am in favor of the latter. Everyone is born equal in this world, hence everyone is to be favored with opportunity. Those who are well prepared can seize the opportunity when it comes and achieve success. Those who remain idle all the time will be bound to failure even if they are surrounded by opportunities. For example, many people had watched apples falling from apple trees but only Newton discovered the Law of Gravity. Therefore, we can come to the conclusion that everyone has opportunities but only the prepared person can seize them and achieve success. So be prepared and your opportunity will favor you soon.。

Without opportunities, we would be stuck in the same place, unableto progress or reach our full potential. For example, when I was in college, I had theopportunity to study abroad for a semester. This experience not only allowed me to immerse myself in a differentculture and language but also helped me gain a broader perspective on the world. It opened my eyes to new possibilities and ultimately shaped my career path.In addition, opportunities often come when we least expect them. 机不可失,时不再来Directions : In this part, you are to write an essay on “Opportunity and Success “. You should write about 200 words within 40 minutes on ANSWER SHEET2. Your essay should be based on the following outline:1. Contingency (偶然性) of opportunity2. Relationship Between opportunity and success3. My view on opportunity机不可失,时不再来。

Opportunities don’t e often. They e every once in a while. Very often, they e quietly and go by without being noticed. Therefore, it is advisable that you should value and treat them with care. When an opportunity presents itself, it brings a promise but never realizes it on its own. If you want to achieve something or intend to fulfill one of your ambitions you must work hard, make efforts and get prepared. Otherwise, you will take no advantage of opportunities when they e to visit you. It is clear that in order to be highly qualified for out future jobs, we should make every possible preparation. The difference between a man who succeeds and one who does not lies only in the way each treats opportunities. The successful person always makes adequate preparations to meet opportunities as they duly arrive. Theunsuccessful person, on the other hand, works little and just waits to see them pass by. Obviously, the two different attitudes towards opportunities may lead to quite different consequences. In my opinion, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone in our society, in our society, but only those who are prepared adequately and qualified highly can make use of them to achieve their purpose. 英语演讲关于opportunity机会演讲稿

英语演讲关于opportunity机会演讲稿

英语演讲关于opportunity机会演讲稿篇一Honorable judges, ladies and gentleman, good afternoon!Today it’s my great honor here, standing on the stage, to share my view points on “opportunity and challenge”.The tempo(速度) of modern civilization has been much quickened in the last twenty years. While witnessing the dramatic changes in the better-offsociety, people begin to reconsider the question of "survival". "Survival" in the old sense does not bother us anymore. Instead, we are more concerned about how to "survive" in the human world full of petition.Competition always carries abreast challenges and opportunities toeveryone involved. It might appear in an entrance exam, in a regular class, or in a small public speech. Those who fail to detect its real nature-whether an opportunity or a challenge a petition really is- will lose something more or leconducive to our growth. Of course, if we take the petition as an opportunity, wewill favor it intentionally because they can help us outstand from the average; they will make us bee the focus of public attention; they will grant us more chances and rights to succeed. As a matter of fact, opportunities are supposed to be more perceptible and weling thanchallenges. The truth is, however, we will lose more opportunities when wechoose to take the "opportunity" fork at the crossroads. The other fork, ignored by us and defined as "fearful challenges", offers much more chances for the walker in petition. We have such an inclination(倾斜) in life to overestimateourselves and hold a thoughtleattitude towards the negative outlook of things. We believe in the old saying, "Opportunity knocks but just once," so we always wele it and devote all our spirit and efforts to it. The most devout believer of this saying are the graduates. Why? There are quite a number of them who pay full attention to positionsin big cities and are willing to flood into developed areas under any circumstances, even though there will be too much uncertainty for their choices. Innumerable cases go straight to the same miserable end: God seems to refuse to help too many of His worshipers. In conclusion, to define the quality of petition seems to be far from valuable sense, for no matterwhat a petition is, an opportunity or a challenge, it will create nutritious elements for our growth. So take a positive look at everything around. Keep our face to the sunshine, and we will not see the shadows. That’s all of my speech, thank you very much!篇二The present is my top concernGood afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Today thetitle of my speech is the present is my top concern.Actually I got the assigned title just the day before yesterday. So, as you might imagine, I was so anxious about this speech contest at that moment. Because I’ve got no draft yet while I got only two days to prepare for my speech. So the main contradiction to me then was to make a draft. I searched for a proper topic I concerned most in my mind over and over again, but I was always suspicious if there is another topic I concerned more. So I kept on searching. When I was attending a class, I was searching; when I was having dinner, I was searching, and when I was lying in the bed and going to sleep, I also didn’t stop searching. I found that I was in such a situation where there is nothing in my mind but the topic and the speech. Gibran’s words suddenly came to my mind that we went too far to remember whywe start. And I finally found out what I concerned most at that moment was just that moment itself. We view our life as a long trip, and we each have an ideal destination. But some of us valued that destination so much that they missed the beauty alone the journey. Some of us valued that destination so much that they got afraid they fail to get there. But sooner or later, they will find out there’s no such a destination to arrive at once and for all. So whydon’t we just cherish the moment right now instead of wasting time striving for a so called destination?John Lennon once said life is what is happening while we are busy making other plans. However, cherishing the moment doesn’t mean we don’t eventhink about or make plans for the future. The truth is, we are not going to worry about the future. Cherishing the moment can just enable us to discover the beautyof life and enjoy the richneof life. And for mycollege life at present, I’d like to try to set foot in as many strange fields as possible; I’d like to make friends of all kinds; I’d like to do some work out to keep fit; and I’d like to do my best to help people in need. And I believe that is the ideal tripof my life; and I believe that is the very essence of life. Thank you very much.篇三Opportunity and ChallengeHonorable judges, ladies and gentleman, good afternoon!Today it’s my great honor her e, standing on the stage, to share my view points on “opportunity and challenge”.First of all: Definitions of the opportunity and challenge. So, what’s an opportunity? Opportunity is a time when a particular situation makes it possible to do or achieve something. It is not acplish of our goal, it may be just a good begninning; it is not achievement of another seashore, it may be just the fair-weather on the day we set out; it is ont a matter of flowers, applause or success, it is a great chance which god provides us, helps us to realize our dreams, it is an advantage we won over for our success, it may be just a platform to show ourselves, maybe just a proper position. But if you are right at a window of an opportunity, “take it, seize it and make good use of it.” I believe in an old saying, "Opportunity knocks but just once",everyone is longing for an opportunity, but once an opportunity goes by, cause of some objective or subjective reasons, they hesitate, thereby, time flies and opportunity is gone. It is too late when you realize this problem, but the opportunity never returns. So, when an opportunity es, grab it tightly, and devote all our spirit and efforts to it. God seems to refuse to help too many of His worshipers. Then, what about challenge? Challenge is a new or difficult task which test our ability and skill. It is not just hurdles on the way, it is the spirit of drawing sword; it is a chance to say “I can”, it is a fighter, a sense of courage, the fearless spirit towards all difficulties, it is the untamed spirit resourced from our deep inside. Many people are afraid of challenging or being challenged, worry about change, failure or other factors. But I think as a human, we should wele challenging and as a man, we should wele being challenged. We should be challenging, there are so many things arounds us which should be broken, such as the old, the stereotype, research fields and so on. The more challenging the better, the more challenging, the more chances we get to improve our world. Also we should enjoy being challenged. It is a world full of petitions, if you avoid it deliberately, you will fall behind very quickly. If you are challenged, first rule, don’t be frustrated. If you are right, it’s avictory for you and if you are wrong or say not perpect, it’s also an supplementary for you or your knowledge, you have also learned a lot of things. What did you lose! It’s a win-win strategy! Why feel frustrated? So, enjoy being challenged, it’s also a state of mind which make you to improve.Secondly, what’s the relationship between the opportunity and challenge? It’s obviously that these two themes always e along. No challenge,no opportunity, vice versa. Every Chinese people will never forget that during the 2008summer Olympic games held in Beijing, eyes all over the world were focused on our country. Hosting the Olympics presents a range of opportunities, of coures, together with many challenges such as environment, international relations, urban development and so on. Another example, along with the opportunity, with the high speed of our country’s financial development, we meet with many challenges, say, severve problems such as inflation recently, high unemployment rate, medical insurance problems, etc. So these two themes always es along, only by dealing with both of them properly can we develop continiously. All in a word, hold the opportunity tightly, face the challenge bravely and adjust your state of mind, success is right at the corner! That’s all of my speech, thank you very much!篇四Everybody good afternoon:.First of all thank the teacher gave me a story in my own future ideal job.Everyone has a dream job. My dream is to bee a boss, own a pany.In order to achieve my dreams, I need to find a good job, to accumulate some experience and wealth, it is the necessary thingsOf course, in the school good achievement and rich knowledge is also very important. Good achievement and rich experience can let me work to make the right choice, have more opportunities and achievements. At the same time, munication is very important, because it determines whether my pany has a goodfuture development. So I need to exercise their municative ability. I need to use all of the free time to learn all. Because I believe, there is nothing in the world can shake my determination. You will be successful, as your own efforts. So seize the time, we have no time to waste.Nothing in the world can change their patience ( confidence ).篇五Knowledge collaboration and all-round educationLadies and gentlemen,We engineering students take it for granted that technology is changing incredibly fast. We arethinking nervously and seriously whether our colleges are failing to provide a foundation in the skills currently needed in industry. Take my major telemunications for example. Scientists say that 21st century is a biomedical time, not an electrical time. But without the help of electronic data processing and transformation, biomedical technology alone cannot go too far. Funny enough, the word biomedical itself isjust a bination of two disciplines. So the interdisciplinary exploitation serves as the critical part for our electric and electronics world as well as any other fields to find new way of being. But the power of knowledge collaboration is certainly not restricted to science and engineering; it is in the full munity of learning. Walking around campus I absorbed a reality that there is a seamless web between students from different professional backgrounds. The engineering students are discussing animatedly in a philosophy lecture, speaking passionately in the public speaking club, and looking for sparkling ideas from learning history and arts. How wonderful that is! That, ladies and gentleman, is just a significant step forward to be well-rounded because once we jump out of the circle we can see the bigger picture. My friends, I hope that you have already got what university is all about. Please let me end my speech with the Nobel Prize winner Li Zhengdao’s words: “The re alization of the perfect bination of science and engineering, science and arts, technology and humanity,is the greatest symbol of a university’s success.” Thank you.。

我对这个机会的看法英语作文

我对这个机会的看法英语作文

我对这个机会的看法英语作文My Perspective on This Opportunity.Opportunities are like stars; they seem to twinkle inthe distance, bright and enticing, until one decides to embark on a journey to reach them. The opportunity I am referring to in this context is not just a fleeting chance but a potential gateway to new horizons and possibilities. For me, an opportunity is not just an occurrence but a momentous convergence of favorable circumstances. It'sabout being able to recognize a window of potential, assess its worth, and then act decisively to seize it. This particular opportunity has presented itself at a time whenI am ready to take on new challenges and expand my horizons. The allure of this opportunity lies in its potential to offer growth and learning. It's not just about achieving a goal or reaching a milestone; it's about the journey itself and the lessons that will be learned along the way. Thechallenges that lie ahead are exciting, and they promise to push me out of my comfort zone, leading to personal and professional growth. Moreover, this opportunity aligns perfectly with my interests and aspirations. It's not often that one comes across a situation where one's passions align with the demands of a given opportunity. For me, this is such a moment. I believe that my skills, experiences, and enthusiasm will be put to good use, enabling me to make a valuable contribution. However, opportunities are not always without their risks. There are always unknowns, and there's a sense of uncertainty that accompanies any new endeavor. But I believe that risk-taking is integral to personal growth and success. By taking on this opportunity, I am willing to embrace the unknown, learn from my mistakes, and grow stronger. The benefits of seizing this opportunity are numerous. There's the potential for career advancement, increasedresponsibility, and the chance to make a real impact. But more than that, there's the personal satisfaction of knowing that I have taken a leap of faith and trusted my instincts. There's the pride in knowing that I have chosento follow my heart and pursue something that truly mattersto me.In conclusion, this opportunity represents a crossroads in my life, a choice between staying comfortable and embracing change. It's about taking a leap into the unknown, but one that I believe is worth taking. It's about trusting my instincts, following my passions, and seizing the day.As I stand on the cusp of this new journey, I am excited, nervous, but mostly ready. I believe that this opportunity has the potential to transform not just my career but mylife in ways I cannot even imagine yet. And for that, I am grateful.。

机会都是给有准备的人的英语作文

机会都是给有准备的人的英语作文

机会都是给有准备的人的英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1Opportunity Favors the PreparedThey say that luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. Throughout my life, I've found this to be absolutely true. The biggest accomplishments and most rewarding experiences haven't just fallen into my lap by chance. Rather, they've arisen because I put in the hard work beforehand to prepare myself, allowing me to seize opportunities when they presented themselves. Opportunity favors the prepared mind and spirit.Think about the successful people you admire - were they just lucky? Or did their achievements come from years of toiling away, acquiring knowledge, skills, and experiences that positioned them perfectly to capitalize on an opening when it appeared? Nobody becomes an Olympic athlete, renowned scientist, prosperous entrepreneur, or respected leader overnight. It takes purposeful preparation over a long period of time.I've learned this lesson firsthand through my experiences in school, extracurriculars, work, and life in general. Whenever I've gone into a situation half-baked and unprepared, I've struggled and failed to make the most of it. But when I've taken the time beforehand to really get ready - studying hard, practicing diligently, and doing my research - that's when opportunities have blossomed and allowed me to shine.Academically, this has played out time and again. Classes and exams that I skimped on preparing for never went well. I'd walk in feeling anxious, make careless mistakes, and leave disappointed with my performance. In contrast, when I buckled down ahead of time - reviewing all the material thoroughly, doing practice problems, and getting enough rest - I was cool, calm, and collected come test day. My hard work paid off as I was able to demonstrate what I'd learned and do myself proud. This has been equally true with extracurricular activities like clubs, sports, and volunteering. Early on, I made the mistake of joining lots of things without being adequately prepared. I'd show up to meetings or events without clear goals or having put in the proper advance work. Not surprisingly, I got little out of many of those experiences and dropped most activities after being stretched too thin.I learned it's far better to pursue just a couple extracurriculars at a time, but to invest myself fully in preparing for them through research, training, and focused commitment. That's opened up amazing opportunities that enriched my life and looked great on college applications. From planning community service projects to serving as a leader in certain clubs to improving enough athletically to make traveling teams, being prepared unlocked doors that otherwise would have remained shut.Looking ahead, I know this lesson of preparation enabling opportunity will serve me well at university and beyond. Getting into a top program requires years preparing a strong academic record through sustained effort, not just lukewarm studying for key tests. The internships, study abroad experiences, research assistantships, and other collegiate opportunities will go to those who demonstrate initiative and readiness, not those who just blindly apply on a whim. After college, the importance of preparation will only be amplified in the working world. Rising through the ranks of any organization demands a tireless work ethic, continuously upgrading skills, and positioning oneself to take on increasing responsibilities over time. Aspiring entrepreneurs don't just wakeup one day with a brilliant idea and successful business - it's years of preparation through education, work experience, saving capital, and meticulous planning that lets them seize the opportunity to launch and grow something transformative. The examples are endless across all walks of life. An opera singer perfecting their craft through thousands of hours of vocal training to be ready for that big break. A scientific researcher grinding away at experiments for decades before chancing upon a game-changing discovery. A political candidate investing years traveling their territory, listening to constituents, honing their policies and platforms to eventually win office and enact change. Opportunity may seem like it strikes suddenly, but it's always years of preparation that put people in a position to seize it.As I prepare myself for the transition to college and then the working world in just a few years, this reality motivates me. I know that coasting by without sustained effort won't lead anywhere fulfilling. But if I can challenge myself to continually gain knowledge, skills, and experience through purposeful preparation, then life's greatest opportunities will find their way to me when the time is right. While my path remains uncertain, developing myself through preparation ensures I'll be able to walk throughwhatever doors may open with confidence. By studying diligently at school, taking advantage of extracurriculars, potentially working or interning, and perpetually investing in self-improvement, I'm laying the foundation to capture opportunities as they present themselves during this pivotal transition in my life. It's daunting to think about, but also exciting. With hard work and determination, the world's opportunities are there for the taking for those willing to prepare. While some may view preparation as a drag, I've come to cherish it as the catalyst to making the most of life's inevitable twists, turns, and fortunes. Opportunity favors the prepared, and I intend to be ready when it comes knocking.篇2Opportunities Are For Those Who Are PreparedIt's a common saying that opportunities only come knocking once. But in my experience, opportunities seem to find their way to those who are ready and willing to seize them. It's all about preparation meeting circumstance at just the right moment. Luck certainly plays a role, but I believe creating your own luckthrough hard work and foresight is key to taking advantage of life's opportunities.Just look at some of the most successful people - were they just born under a lucky star? Maybe to some degree. But dig a little deeper and you'll find years of toil, sacrifice, and commitment to being prepared for when that big break finally came along. Let me give you some examples from my own life of how preparedness opened doors.Last year, our school held an essay writing contest with the prize being a brand new laptop. Now you'd think the straight-A students or those known for being great writers would have the edge. But I was determined to win that laptop, so I got to work researching the contest topic inside and out. I read books, scoured the internet, and even interviewed experts to gather unique insights. When it came time to write the essay, I was incredibly well-prepared with facts, examples and a distinct perspective that made my essay stand out. Sure enough, I ended up winning that shiny new laptop.Or take my experience trying out for the school play. I'm not what you'd call a naturally gifted actor, but I desperately wanted one of the lead roles. So in the weeks leading up to auditions, I worked tirelessly -- running lines with friends, watchingperformances of the play online to study the characters, and even taking an acting class at the community center. When audition day rolled around, I was pouring with sweat and my heart was beating out of my chest. But I nailed every line and embodied that character through all the preparation I had done. Not surprisingly, I landed one of the most coveted roles. You see, in both these instances, hard work and diligent preparation put me in a position to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise may have passed me by. It's not just about showing up and hoping for the best. It's about doing the hard work ahead of time to make sure you're truly ready when that moment of opportunity arises. This mindset of relentless preparation has helped me academically as well. You can bet I don't leave exam studying to the last minute. I carefully go through all materials starting weeks in advance, making detailed outlines and notes. I make sure to attend all study sessions and ask the professor tons of questions to solidify my understanding. Then when the exam comes, I'm completely prepared to demonstrate my hard-earned mastery of the content. It's the same approach I take for major school projects and assignments too. Planning out every step, doing the researchupfront, and laying out a schedule to ensure I make constant forward progress. There's no such thing as "winging it" if you want to produce high quality work. Opportunities for great grades and teacher recommendations go to the students who prove themselves to be exceptionally prepared. Now don't get me wrong - even with tremendous preparation, you won't be able to seize every opportunity that comes your way. Some things are just out of your control orill-timed. But I'd say 90% of the time, being that well-prepared person puts you in prime position to capitalize when luck strikes. It's about playing the odds and maximizing your chances of success.Just imagine being next in line for your dream job or internship, but not getting it because you were underprepared compared to other candidates. Or blowing an important presentation or interview due to lack of practice and preparation. Missed opportunities like those are devastating because they are entirely preventable with the right foresight and work ethic. The key is to always be in a state of readiness for the opportunities you want in life. Do your homework, put in the practice reps, ask for feedback, and make sure you show up overprepared. That's how you turn luck and chance into real, lasting success. It's about shifting the odds as much as possible in your favor through sheer determination and preparation. Some may call it being a perfectionist or an over-achiever. I just call it being smart and pragmatic. Why go into any situation at anything less than 100%? If you want to be a top performer who constantly takes advantage of opportunities, you have to live by the mindset of "opportunities are for the prepared." Adopt that attitude and watch how many more doors open up for you in life.So thank you to all those who instilled this philosophy in me from an early age - coaches, teachers, parents, mentors. Their lessons about preparation and hard work being the keys to seizing opportunities really struck a chord with me. It's a principle I now live by each and every day, and it has already paid huge dividends in terms of achieving my goals and aspirations. To anyone reading this, I hope you'll take my advice to heart. Be that person who simply outworks and outprepares everyone else. When you live in a perpetual state of readiness like that, you'll be amazed at how many more opportunities fall into your lap. Luck doesn't discriminate - it favors the prepared. So control what you can control by doing the hard work ahead of time. That's the true path to turning your dreams into reality andputting yourself in a position to capitalize on the chances that life provides. The opportunities are there, but it's up to you to be prepared to seize them.篇3Opportunities: A Chance for the Prepared MindAs a student, I've often heard the phrase "Opportunity knocks but once" or some variation of it. However, through my experiences and observations, I've come to realize that this adage doesn't quite capture the whole truth. Opportunities, in reality, present themselves to us frequently, but it's our level of preparedness that determines whether we can seize them or let them slip through our fingers. The world we live in is constantly evolving, and with each change comes a multitude of prospects, waiting to be grasped by those who are ready. Whether it's a coveted internship, a scholarship, or a chance to showcase our talents, these openings arise at unexpected moments, and it's up to us to be vigilant and equipped to make the most of them.Preparation, in this context, isn't just about accumulating knowledge or honing skills; it's about cultivating a mindset that embraces challenges, adapts to new situations, and remainsever-ready to act. It's about developing a resilient spirit that doesn't falter in the face of setbacks but learns from them and grows stronger.I vividly remember the time when my school announced a prestigious writing competition, and the deadline for submissions was only a week away. While many of my classmates felt overwhelmed and decided not to participate, I saw it as an opportunity to showcase my passion for writing. Thanks to my consistent practice and dedication to improving my craft, I was able to put together a compelling piece within the given timeframe. And although I didn't win the competition, the experience taught me a valuable lesson: being prepared isn't just about winning; it's about having the courage to step forward and embrace opportunities when they arise.Preparedness also means being adaptable andopen-minded. In today's rapidly changing world, the skills and knowledge we acquire today may become obsolete tomorrow. Therefore, it's crucial to cultivate a lifelong learning mindset, continuously seeking out new information, and embracing change as an opportunity for growth rather than a threat. One example that comes to mind is the shift towards remote learning and online platforms during the COVID-19 pandemic. While many students struggled to adapt to this new reality, those who had developed strong time-management andself-discipline skills were better equipped to navigate the challenges of virtual classrooms and independent learning. They saw the opportunity to explore new technologies and develop digital literacy, skills that will undoubtedly serve them well in the future.Preparation isn't just about academic excellence or professional pursuits; it's also about personal growth and development. Being prepared means cultivating emotional intelligence, building strong relationships, and developing a solid understanding of oneself. These qualities not only enhance our ability to seize opportunities but also contribute to our overall well-being and success in life.I recall a time when a leadership opportunity arose within my school's student council. While many of my peers were hesitant to step forward, fearing the added responsibility, I saw it as a chance to challenge myself and develop crucial skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Thanks to my commitment to personal growth and my willingness to embrace new challenges, I was able to successfully navigate the role andgain invaluable experiences that have shaped me into a more confident and well-rounded individual.Of course, being prepared doesn't guarantee success in every endeavor. There will be times when our best efforts fall short, or circumstances beyond our control intervene. However, it's during these moments that our level of preparedness truly shines. Those who have cultivated resilience and adaptability are better equipped to bounce back from setbacks, learn from their mistakes, and continue seeking out new opportunities. In the end, opportunities are indeed abundant, but they are not equally accessible to all. It's those who have taken the time to prepare themselves, both mentally and practically, who are truly poised to capitalize on the chances that come their way. Whether it's through dedicated study, personal development, or a relentless pursuit of growth, preparation is the key that unlocks the door to success. As I look ahead to the future, I am reminded of the importance of preparedness in all aspects of life. It's not just about excelling academically or professionally; it's about developing a mindset that empowers us to navigate theever-changing landscape of opportunities with confidence, resilience, and a hunger for growth. By embracing this mindset,we can truly unlock our full potential and create a life filled with meaningful achievements and fulfilling experiences.。

In a word, only those who are always prepared and qualified can obtain opportunities and make use of them. So I believe the proverb, "Opportunities are only for the preparet there are opportunities everywhere for everybody. For example, Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain and Thomas Edison achieved great success in their lives though they had very little schooling. What they had in common was that they kept on working hard, and at last opportunities favored them, thus they became US President, writer and inventor respectively. This shows that "success belongs to the persevering." As a proverb says, "Diligence is the mother of good luck (or success)." If you want to get an opportunity to succeed, first of all you have to be diligent. As students, we should work hard all the time instead of complaining about lack of opportunities. It is only those who have been industrious, making constant patient efforts at an aim that can recognize, seek and finally make full use of opportunities coming their way.
My View on Opportunity
People have different views on opportunity. Some think that opportunities are so rare that only the luckiest people can get them. Others argue that everyone has opportunity at one time or another in his or her life. As far as I am concerned, I agree with the latter.
