Open AI, the company behind the popular chatbot has now introduced a powerful new language model: GPT-4.On March 14, GPT-4 showed the world how smarter it is than the previous GPT-3.5. One of its best new features is that it can understand pictures. For example, if you show a picture of a phone using the wrong charger, GPT-4 can tell why the picture looks strange or funny. But GPT-4’s developments don’t stop there. The new language model can code classic games like Tetris (俄罗斯方块) in a matter of minutes, and produce the code and layout (布局) for a website based on a handmade drawing. It can also change the tone and style based on what you ask it to do. GPT-4 is much better than the older GPT at passing tests, which may worry teachers. According to CNN, GPT-4 did really well on a law school test, with a score in the top 10 percent of test takers. But GPT-3.5 only got a score in the bottom 10 percent.GPT-4 will also see greater use as a tool to power other apps and services. For example, the language learning app Duolingo plans to use GPT-4 in their upcoming version, Duolingo Max. Users can learn language by talking with AI. Another app, Be My Eyes, will have a digital assistant to help blind people better understand the world around them. 执信中学初二英语期中考试试卷解析
执信中学初二英语期中考试试卷解析全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Mid-Term English Exam BreakdownHey guys! I'm here to give you all the inside scoop on our recently completed mid-term English exam. I know a lot of you found certain parts tough, so let me walk through each section and share my thoughts. Hopefully it'll help make things clearer!Reading ComprehensionWe had two reading passages to get through for this part. The first was about the history of the Olympics which I actually found pretty interesting. The questions focused a lot on picking out specific details and facts from the passage. My advice would be to read carefully and underline or highlight any years, numbers, names etc. That makes it easier to locate the answers quickly. The second passage was trickier in my opinion. It was discussing environmental issues and climate change. There was some tricky vocabulary like "anthropogenic" and "mitigationstrategies." If you didn't know those terms already, it would have really thrown you off. For comprehension questions like these, skim through first to get the gist before going into the finer details.GrammarUgh, the grammar section...am I right? Those sentence correction questions are the worst! You have to be so precise in identifying errors. I missed a couple thinking the sentences were okay, only to realize later there were minor punctuation or verb tense issues. Pro tip: DOUBLE CHECK each underlined part no matter how confident you feel. The sentence restructuring questions were rough too. You have to literally rebuild the sentence from scratch based on the prompts. It really tests your grammar knowledge to the max. If you struggled with those, I'd recommend doing more practice questions of that type.WritingThere were two writing tasks - the easier one was writing an email to a friend about your favorite movie. The key there is using informal language and conventions you'd actually usewhen writing to a friend. Contractions, casual expressions, that sort of thing. The harder writing task asked us to discuss the importance of learning a foreign language. This required more formal language and tone. You had to structure clear arguments and provide specific examples to support your points. Time management was crucial as we only had 30 minutes to write it.My advice would be to very quickly outline 2-3 main points you want to make in the intro. Then you can expand on each one in the body paragraphs before concluding. Having that basic structure helps maximize the time.VocabularyAh vocabulary, the make-or-break section for many of us! There were some really obscure words being tested this time around. Words like "soliloquy" and "serendipity" came completely out of left field. Unless you're a total vocab nerd, I'm betting most people struggled or had to guess on those. The vocabulary questions ranged from filling in blanks, to matching words to definitions, to identifyingroots/prefixes/suffixes. My two cents? Make vocabulary practice a weekly habit rather than just cramming at the last minute.Create flashcards, look for pattern words, and incorporate new words into your daily vocabulary slowly but surely.SpeakingWe had to give a short individual presentation about our favorite teacher and why we appreciate them. Preparation is key for these speaking sections. You may feel okay winging it, but having a few notecards with key points jotted down goes a long way.Speak slowly, clearly, and don't be afraid of short pauses to gather your thoughts. The judges are listening for proper grammar, vocabulary, and overall coherence - not just how quickly you can ramble through it. If you did mess up, don't get flustered. Maintain that confident body language and facial expressions.ListeningMan oh man, those listening exercises...pourquoi sont-ils si difficiles?! Okay, let me break it down. There were a few different types - listening to conversations to answer questions, listening for specific details like figures or names, and my personal nemesis - putting pictures in the correct order based on the audio instructions. The conversations tried to trick us by having multiple speakers and side commentary to throw us off the key points. For those, focus only on what directly answers the questions, and try to tune out the rest. As for listening for details, make sure to write down ANY number, date, or proper noun you hear as it's being said. Don't risk missing it!And those blasted picture ordering exercises...I must have gotten the sequence mixed up at least twice. The only advice I can give is to visualize what you're hearing as clearly as possible. Create a mental storyboard of the steps as they're described. It's not easy, but mad props to anyone who nailed those!Phew! That about covers the big takeaways from thismid-term exam madness. Some sections went better than others for sure. But the key is to analyze where you struggled, get some feedback from your teachers, and make a game plan to improve those areas for next time. We're all in this English-learning journey together!Just remember, a mid-term is simply a milestone - not the final destination. If you scored lower than you hoped, that just means you've got even more motivation to work harder for the finals. You've got this! Keep that positive attitude and keep thoselanguage skills leveling up day by day. The payoff will be so worth it.Fighting to the last test, guys! That's all from me. Let me know if you have any other questions!篇2English Exam Analysis for Grade 8 - A Kid's PerspectiveHey guys! Did you just take the big English mid-term exam at Zhixin Middle School? I heard it was really tough this time. My older brother is in 8th grade there and he's been stressing out about it for weeks!Even though I'm just a kid in elementary school, I asked him to show me the exam after he took it. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. After looking through it, I can see why he was so worried. That test was no joke!Let me walk you through some of the sections and questions. Maybe it will help you understand where the tricky parts were if you get to take it next year.Listening ComprehensionThis part had some篇3English Exam Analysis for Grade 8 StudentsHey there, young learners! Did you just take the big English mid-term exam at Zhixin Middle School? I know it can be pretty tough, but don't worry, I'm here to help you understand it better. Let's dive right in and see what that exam was all about!First up, we had the Reading Comprehension section. This part tested how well you could understand written passages in English. There were probably a few different texts, like stories, articles, or even advertisements. The questions asked you to show that you could grasp the main ideas, pick out important details, and make logical inferences based on the information provided. For example, one passage might have been about a famous scientist and their groundbreaking discoveries. The questions could have asked you to identify the scientist's key achievements, explain why their work was so important, or figure out the meaning of certain scientific terms used in the text. Tricky, right? But don't feel bad if you found some of those questions challenging. Reading comprehension takes practice, and themore you read in English, the better you'll get at understanding different types of texts.Next up was the Writing section. This part evaluated your ability to express yourself clearly and effectively in written English. You might have had to write a short essay, a story, or even a letter or email. For instance, one prompt could have asked you to describe your favorite book or movie and explain why you enjoyed it so much. To do well, you needed to organize your thoughts logically, use a variety of vocabulary words, and follow proper grammar and spelling rules. Not easy, but super important for communicating well in English! The Grammar and Vocabulary sections likely gave you a chance to show off your knowledge of English language rules and word meanings. These parts often include multiple-choice questions or fill-in-the-blank exercises. For grammar, you might have had to identify correct verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, or proper use of articles and prepositions. As for vocabulary, you could have been tested on synonyms, antonyms, or how to use certain words correctly in different contexts. Finally, there was probably a Listening Comprehension part too. This section checked if you could understand spoken English by playing audio clips and asking you questions about what you heard. The clips might have been conversations between friends, announcements, or even short lectures on different topics. You had to listen carefully for key details, identify the main ideas, and sometimes make inferences about the speakers' intentions or emotions.Phew, that's a lot to cover in one exam, isn't it? But don't feel discouraged if some parts were really tough. Learning a new language takes time and effort, and every exam is just another step in your English journey. The most important thing is to learn from your mistakes, keep practicing, and never give up. My name is Lily and I'm a 5th grader who loves English. My older sister Sophie is in 8th grade at Zhixin Middle School, and she just took her English midterm exam. She let me take a look at it and I have some thoughts to share! The exam had five sections - listening, reading, vocabulary, grammar, and writing. Let me break each one down for you.Listening SectionThis part was pretty tough! The teachers played some audio clips and asked questions about what you heard. There were conversations between people as well as excerpts from news reports and stories. My tips? Listen very carefully for key details like names, numbers, dates, etc. Don't just focus on the general idea. Also, if you mishear something, read the answer choices carefully to see if one makes more sense than the others based on the context.Reading SectionFor this part, there were a few different passages to read - a newspaper article, a short story, and some information from a textbook chapter. Then you had to answer comprehension questions about each one.My advice? Read the questions first so you know what to listen for. Underline or make notes about the key details and evidence as you read. For inference questions, use clues from the text combined with your own experiences to make a logical guess.Vocabulary SectionThis tested your knowledge of vocabulary words through matching, fill-in-the-blank, and multiple choice questions. Many of the words were ones my sister has studied in her vocab units this year.Study those word lists thoroughly! Make flashcards, practice using the words in sentences, and quiz yourself regularly. Knowing lots篇5Hi there, young learners! It's your friendly English guide here to walk you through the recent Mid-Term English Exam at Zhixin Middle School. I know exams can be a bit daunting, but fear not! I'll break it down for you in a way that's easy to understand.Let's start with the Reading Comprehension section. This part tests your ability to read and understand different types of texts, such as stories, articles, or dialogues. The passages were about everyday topics that middle schoolers like you can relate to, like sports, hobbies, and school life. One passage was about a young basketball player who overcame her fears and won a big game for her team. The questions tested if you could identify the main idea, find specific details, and make inferences based on the text. It's important to read carefully and pay attention to the little clues the author gives you.Another passage was a magazine article about the latest trends in gaming. The questions focused on vocabulary in context, so you had to use the surrounding text to figure out the meanings of some tricky words. Don't worry if you didn't know all the words – that's why context clues are so handy! The Use of English section tested your grammar skills and ability to use the language accurately. There were questions onverb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and word forms (like changing a noun into an adjective). Some of you might have found the grammar questions a bit challenging, but remember, practice makes perfect! One part of this section focused on sentence completion. You had to choose the right word or phrase to fill in the blanks and make the sentence make sense. It's a great way to show off your vocabulary knowledge and your understanding of how words fit together in a sentence. The Writing section was all about expressing your thoughts and ideas clearly and creatively. One task was to write a short story based on a picture prompt. The picture showed a group of friends having a picnic in the park, so you had to use your imagination to create an interesting story around that scene.Another writing task was to write a letter to a pen pal, introducing yourself and describing your daily routine. This was a chance to practice your informal writing skills and show off your personality through your words. Finally, the Listening section tested your ability to understand spoken English. You had to listen to dialogues or monologues and answer questions about the main ideas, specific details, and the speakers' intentions or emotions. One listening passage was about a student giving a presentation on their favorite book. The questions checked if you could identify the key points the student made and the reasons they gave for liking the book.Another listening task was a conversation between two friends planning a weekend trip. You had to listen carefully to figure out where they were going, how they were getting there, and what activities they had planned.Phew, that was a lot to cover! But don't worry if some parts seemed tricky – that's totally normal. The important thing is that you gave it your best effort and learned from the experience.Remember, learning English is a journey, and every exam is just a stepping stone along the way. Keep practicing, keep learning, and most importantly, keep having fun with the language! If you have any specific questions or need further explanations, feel free to ask your teachers or me. We're here to support you and help you become awesome English learners! That's all for now, my young friends. Until next time, happy studying!篇6Zhongxin Middle School English Mid-Term Exam WalkthroughHi everyone! It's me again, your friendly neighborhood elementary student. My older sister just took her Englishmid-term exam at Zhongxin Middle School, and she's been stressing out about it big time. I took a look at the exam paper and I've gotta say, it seemed pretty tough! But don't worry, I'm here to break it all down for you.The exam had four sections - Listening, Reading, Writing, and Grammar & Vocabulary. Let's dive right in!ListeningThe listening part had three passages that were played via audio recordings. My sister said the audio quality was clear, but some of the accents were a bit hard to follow at times. The first passage was a conversation between two friends deciding where to go for lunch. There were multiple choice questions testing your ability to understand details like locations, food preferences, and reasons for their choices.Next up was a longer passage about the history of ice cream! Who knew there was so much to learn about frozen desserts? This one had some tricky true/false and fill-in-the-blank questions. The final listening passage was a radio interview with a children's book author. This one really put your listening comprehension skills to the test with some open-ended questions about the main ideas and specific details mentioned.ReadingIf you thought the listening part was tough, just wait until you see the reading section! There were three passages here too, each with around 10 questions to answer. The first passage was about the importance of recycling and taking care of our environment. The questions focused on vocabulary from the passage and making inferences based on what you read. My sister struggled a bit with the inference questions.Next up was a super long passage all about the history and cultural significance of the Chinese New Year celebrations. This one had questions on the main ideas of each paragraph and identifying supporting details. Whew, that was a dense read! The final reading passage was a fictional short story about a girl and her pet dog. There were some pretty challengingquestions asking you to analyze the characters' thoughts, feelings and motivations based on the narrative. English class isn't just about grammar anymore!WritingMy sister was most worried about the writing section. She had to write a short essay of around 200 words giving her opinion on whether middle school students should have access to smartphones at school. She found it really hard to organize all her thoughts within the word limit while also using a good variety of vocabulary and grammar structures from the prompts given. Writing essays in English is no joke!Grammar & VocabularyLast but not least, the grammar and vocabulary section! This part had all sorts of drills like:Filling in blanks with the appropriate verb tensesIdentifying and correcting grammatical errors in sentencesChoosing the right vocabulary words to complete collocations and idiomsMatching words to their definitionsMy sister said she made quite a few careless mistakes in this section from going too fast and not reading the questions carefully enough. Silly goose!Phew, that's about it for the mid-term exam breakdown! I don't know about you guys, but I'm feeling pretty intimidated just from looking at all those sections. It's amazing how much English the middle schoolers have to know these days.I'll leave you with a few words of wisdom - study hard, don't leave anything blank, manage your time wisely, and try your best! You've got this! Let me know if you need any other tips from your pal, the amazing elementary expert.Good luck on your exams!。

However, at that time the subject (被拍对象) had to keep still while a picture of it was being taken. Few people had ever tried to take photos of moving subjects. The first man to do so was Eadweard Muybridge, a world-famous photographer. He created the first moving picture. When a horse is running, do all four hooves (蹄) ever leave the ground at the same time? That was the bet (打赌) that a gentleman called Leland Stanford had with some of his friends. Most people believed that a horse always had one hoof on the ground, but Stanford didn’t think so. Because a horse’s legs are moving so fast, it’s impossible to tell just by looking.Stanford needed a way to record the movement of a running horse. In 1872, Leland Stanford offered Eadweard Muybridge $25,000 to find the answer. Muybridge had no idea if he could successfully set up and perform an experiment to settle ( 解决) the bet, but he thought he should give it a try.In 1878, after years of experiments, Muybridge got what he wanted. He had a sequence (连续) of 12 images (图像), and one of them clearly showed all four of the horse’s hooves were off the ground at the same time. In the end, Muybridge collected his well-earned $25,000 from Stanford.Though Thomas Edison is usually considered as the person who created the first cine-camera (电影摄影机) in 1889, it was the work of Eadweard Muybridge and the bet that led to Edis on’s invention.36.The underlined word “still” most probably means “” in Chinese.A. 安逸的B. 平衡的C. 直立的D. 静止的37.Leland Stanford thought that .A.a horse always had one hoof on the ground while runningB.a horse had all four hooves off the ground at some point while runningC.it was possible for Eadweard Muybridge to make a moving pictureD.it was impossible for Eadweard Muybridge to make a moving picture38.Muybridge finally found the answer to the bet in .A. 1839B. 1872C. 1878D. 188739.Muybridge’s experiments prov ed that it was _ who won the bet.A. 6.The man________from his seat and________a difficult question.
【点睛】make是使役动词,其后跟省略to的不定式作宾语补足语,make sb. do sth.表达“让某人做某事”例如The teacher made him wait outside.在被动语态的句子中,则要还原不定式的符号to。例如He was made to wait outside。make sb. doing sth.表达“让某人一直做某事”,强调动作的持续性。make sb. done中done是动词的过去分词形式,表达“让某人被……”,表示一种被动的含义。
考查动词的时态。根据“for seven years”和“since”可知时间状语从句部分用一般过去时态,而主句用现在完成时态。“来到这个学校”是过去发生的动作,用came;而”教数学教了七年”是持续性的动作,用has taught。故选B。
