本单元的主题是“人与自然”，本堂课的阅读主题是“人与自然”主题话题下的“人与城市”。
文本以对话的形式介绍了厦门的地理位置、气候和城市概况，比如architecture 、business 、tourist attractions 等。
该课例是一堂阅读公开课。
通过文本的学习，学生可以对厦门这座城市有所了解，学会如何介绍一座城市，并且进一步从情感角度升华到对自己家乡的热爱。

二、学情分析我所教的班级大部分学生基础比较薄弱词汇量小英语阅读能力相对较差学习也不是很积极。
另一方面由于刚升入高一初次接触较长篇幅的课文大多数学生都不会跳读、略读等阅读策略。
但是好的是大多数学生有学好英语的愿望希望自己能在新的阶段取得进步。
在课堂上他们能够尽力地配合老师用简单的英语进行表达。
对于这样一群学生我会尽量设置一些简单的阅读任务促进他们的成就感激发他们学英语的兴趣同时运用多媒体去启发他们思考主动地去参与并解决课堂上所设置的一些教学任务最终希望他们能在英语上有大的进步。
三、教学资源与策略本节课除外研版必修一教材、录音资料外还借鉴了学英语报和金色教案中的一些好的方面同时也通过互联网搜索了有关厦门的一些美丽的图片。
主要采用的教学策略有: 任务型阅读教学法和交际式教学法。
四、教学目标 1. 知识与能力 1掌握文中的词汇和语言点。
2理解文章大意并能完成相应阅读任务。
3) 能够复述文章并介绍自己的城市。
