TRAINER EVALUATION
Feedback from participants and their HR or Training Supervisors is an important source of evaluating MARKET LEADER language trainers’ performance. To make the information about the effectiveness of our trainers more reliable, our Training Department uses the following additional methods: Š Training method: in addition to materials, corporate language trainers receive detailed guidelines about the most effective ways to use the MARKET LEADER training methodology. Š Training content supervision: MARKET LEADER Training Supervisors check the structure and content of each session’s lesson plan beforehand. Š The mutual visit system: At least once during each MARKET LEADER training, another corporate language trainer joins the session and participates in his colleague’s class. The visiting trainer is not an observer: she joins the participants and this way experiences the training together with them, bringing important feedback back to MARKET LEADER and the client.

MEASURING LANGUAGE COMPETENCY
MARKET LEADER places great emphasis on measuring the language level of participants before, during and after the training. Our testing and measurement system helps trainers to compare the level of participants before they enter the training, during the training and at the final evaluation in a precise way. Also, the system allows us to provide our clients with clear and reliable reports about placement (assigning participants to different groups) and training progress. The six different language levels that we use to compare stages of language competency are based on a number of internationally recognized systems of English language testing. Although most of these systems are designed to test general English language ability, they are also useful to demonstrate how MARKET LEADER’s practical and skills-based trainings contribute to the progress of staff that will use English in their professional tasks. To keep our trainings focused on English used for professional purposes, our trainers use a Language Competency Matrix, based on the six language levels, to measure participants’ levels in eight different communication skills. With the help of the Matrix, our clients and trainers can gain a detailed idea not only about participants’ language level in general, but also about the differences in their passive grammar, vocabulary, and understanding, reading and writing skills. If our clients wish to emphasize on of these skills during the training (for example understanding fluent speech or writing skills), our system allows us to monitor the progress made in those skills more closely.
