教材分析

本课新单词有born, as,became,herself, role model，词组是all over the world，主要句型是She couldn’t …. She could ….本课主要从学生兴趣出发，联系学生已有的对名人的了解，通过dialogues、readings、picture talking等多种活动，使学生学会运用could和couldn’t描述某人过去能做和不能做的事情。同时，通过学习美国著名盲人作家Helen Keller的故事，教育学生要坚强勇敢地向命运挑战。

教学目标１、知识与技能目标

（1）四会新单词、新词组和2个新句型，做到发音准确、清晰；

（2）熟练运用新句型与同桌进行相互问答；

（3）能够借助课文中的照片和图片，进行看图问答或综合说话；

（4）能够根据多媒体课件自主读写英语短文材料。

２、过程与方法目标

（1）通过师生问答、两两对话、角色扮演等多种言语交际活动，培养和提高口语交际能力和在日常生活中运用英语的能力；

（2）能够仔细倾听老师和同学的发言，有语言表达和同学交流的愿望。

教学过程

1. Warmer

1) Greetings.

2) Free talk:

A: What day is today? What’s the weather like today? What do you usually do at the weekend? What did you do last weekend?

B: Guess what the teacher did last weekend?

2. Presentation:

1) Show the book the teacher read last weekend.（Three Days to See）

Ask the students who wrote it? Helen Keller

2) To announce the topic of the lesson

Questions: When and where was Helen Keller born? She wrote a book about herself, didn’t she? Did she go all over the world? Is she a model?

此环节让学生带着问题学习课文，为学习新的阅读材料理清思路，也有利于学生自主学习。

3) Answer the questions, and lead out new words. (born, herself, all over the world, model)

通过回答问题，进而引出新词、词组，以强化知识目标的达成。

4) Listen and repeat again, and underline the sentences with “could”and “couldn’t”. (Emphasize “could/can, couldn’t/can’t)

此环节的读、划Key words，有利于对重、难点知识的敲打。

1）Game: Encourage the students to say something about the topic. “As a small child, what could/couldn’t you do?”

教师通过PPT出示自己儿时的照片，用本课学习的新句型介绍自己小时候能做的事和不能做的事，进而鼓励学生谈论自己的情况，既起到的示范作用，又拉近了师生间的距离。2）Show the PPT of little Helen. Ask and answer: What could/ couldn’t Helen do? (Two pictures) 3）Fill in the blanks.
