点评：拟声词译法就是要闻声解译，采用恰当的翻 译方法。第一个词在文中的运用情境是 the assistant小声唤起the pastor的注意，因而我把 它译为“嘘，嘘！”。第二个考虑到它是面纱着 火时的声音，所以将其翻译成与发音十分相似的 “噗！”

词类转换是指英语中的某一词类译成汉语时转换 为另一个词。

注意：这句子本身很简单，但是为了与汉语的表达习惯相符 合，在此我根据上下文的表达意思，在"以为"后面加上了 “会是这样”（即上文提到的perfection），这样显得句子 更加通顺。
翻译技巧
• 减词（omission） 减词（omission）
由于两种语言表达习惯不同，翻译时如果一字不漏地 照搬，往往会显得累赘、拖沓、冗杂、或不合行文习惯， 甚至产生歧义。采取减词译法可以使译文言简意赅。 e.g.1) He put the scarf round his neck 他围上围巾 2)On condition that you sign this receipt, I will pay the money. 你在收据上签字，我就付款。 （原文是通过连词来表示“条件”，而汉语则是通过从句 和主句前后顺序来表达这一关系。）
• General Idea：
At a wedding, the pastor encountered a big problem that the Candelabra which was designed to hold the candles at the close of the ceremony was missing. Fortunately, an assistant came and helped him in time by a special way. But there were still various accident happening without any predication. To avoid more accident appearing, the paster had to finish the ceremony ahead of time. After that, each time when he heared some brides talking about the candles in the ceremony he would turn pale.

• 释义（paraphrase）
• 释义是指舍弃原文中的具体形象，直接解释出原文的意思。在翻译一 些具有鲜明民族色彩的词语（如成语、典故）时，如果直译不能使译 入语读者明白意思，而加注又使译文太噜嗦，并且原文重意不重形、 重意不重典时，可采用释义法。它既可使译文简洁明了，又不损害对 原文信息的传达。 • “宋代大诗人苏东坡把西湖比作西子。 Poet Su Dongpo of the NorthernSongDynasty(960——1127)compared the West Lake to the most beautiful woman in ancient China． 注意：’’中国人都知道“西子”即“西施”，是中国历史上四大美 女之一，并且能马上联想到其无与伦比之美。但是若直译成“Xizi”， 译文读者是不能理解的，用其解释来代替，就好理解得多。
翻译难点
• 1）The wedding party experienced the agony of smothered, stifled（窒息,抑制 ） laughter. Their only release（释放，发布） was the flow of hysterical （歇斯底里的,异常 兴奋的）tears while they thought to keep their composure. 婚礼上出现了想要极力抑制的笑声，他们 唯一的表现（？）就是因刻意保持镇定而涌 出的眼泪。
