Amount 还可以做名词。总量,数额

典句忆析
A.完成句子
1.否定词+比较级表最高级含义
Nothing ________________(更好的了).
2.must have done表对过去的推测。
Something terrible ________________ (一定发生了) if Li Chang was not coming to eat in his restaurant as he always did.
由于表推测时情态动词没有过去的含义(must无过去时,can 和could只有语气强弱的区别),故而只有借助完成时态。
- Where is Tom? - He could have gone home.
Tom 在哪里?他可能回家了。
3.have+宾语+现在分词作宾语补足语
He could not ________ Yong Hui ________________ (哄骗人们却不受罚)!
Have 这时表示让的用法,同make。Have sb\sth do sth(主动), have sb\sth done(被动).
I have him locked in the room. I have him wait outside.
Have sb. doing 是have 特有的结构。此时也表主动,但强调持续,正在发生或含有感情色彩。
Don’t have the baby crying.
You’d better have your car driving slowly.
4.The competition between the two restaurants was on.
On表示开始,播放。Off 则可以用于表示结束,放假等。
I want to have several days off. 我想休假几天。
5.such...that引导结果状语从句. Their balanced diets became ________________ (如此大的成功以至于不久以后) Wang Peng became slimmer and Yong Hui put on more weight.
Such翻译为如此,但为形容词,故而后接名词。接单数名词前需要放在a\an 之前。
The movie is such a success that almost all the actors become famous.

宾语从句
一.宾语从句的引导词及语序问题
1、当由陈述句充当宾语从句时,用that引导,that无词义,在口语或非正式文体中常省略。如:
She said that she would leave the message on the headmaster's desk.
她说她会把留言条放在校长桌子上。
He said that he could finish his work before supper.他说他会在晚饭前完成工作
2、当由一般疑问句充当宾语从句时,用if或whether引导,意为“是否”。从句使用陈述语气。
Alice wanted to know if/whether her grandmother liked the bag.
爱丽斯想知道她祖母是否喜欢这个包。
I don't know whether he'll come the day after tomorrow.
我不知道他后天是否会来
但直接与or not连用时,往往用whether如:
Let me know whether he will come or not.(= Let me know whether or not he will come )让我
