1. Make the students grasp the rules of simple past sentences and enable them to ask questions on the basis of simple past tense. 2.Enable the students to describe and talk about things happened in the past.
Scott had a busy day last Saturday. He got up at 7:00. After that he brushed his teeth and took a shower. Then he ate his breakfast very fast. After breakfast he tried to take a taxi to go to work, and he waited and waited but there came no taxi. So he had to take bus number 17 instead. Because of the heavy traffic he finally arrived at the workplace at 9:15. He had two meetings in the morning and interviewed 4 university graduates for the report. He hardly had time for lunch. When he finally came back to home, it was already 9 pm.
