There was a game room with arcade games and air hockey tables. We also went to listen to live guitar players and hula dancers perform some traditional Hawaiian music and dances. So beautiful and graceful!Another day, we went on a guided hiking tour through the jungle and up a dormant volcano. I had never seen so much green all around me - the plant life was incredible with huge leafy bushes and twisted vines hanging from the trees. Our guide taught us about the island's history, culture and legends. We even got to sample some fresh pineapple and coconut right off the plants.Towards the end of our trip, we took surfing lessons from a local instructor down at the beach. It was much harder than it looked to catch the waves properly! I fell into the water more times than I can count, but it was still really fun. By the end of the lesson, I was able to successfully ride a few small waves for a little while before wiping out.All too soon, it was time to leave paradise and head back home. I was really sad for our incredible vacation to be over, but so grateful to my parents for giving me the chance to experience such an amazing adventure.As we lifted off from the runway, I looked down at the island getting smaller and smaller through the window. "Goodbye Hawaii," I whispered. "I'll never forget you and I hope I can come back again someday."The flight home seemed twice as long, probably because I didn't want it to end.
