本单元以“自然灾害”为话题,包含了地震、火山喷发、海啸、飓风等自然灾害的介绍,以及如何在灾难中自救和救人的方法。

本单元旨在让学生了解自然灾害的种类、发生的原因、危害以及如何自救和救人。

让学生对Natural Disasters 的知识有一定的了解,并明白各种自然灾害的破坏性。

使学生在认识的基础上进一步学习阅读课文里有关灾难——地震来临前的征兆和地震过程中的相关知识,并懂得在地震中如何自救,如何救人等内容。

一.教学内容分析本单元话题为“地震”,主要描写了1976年唐山大地震,各项语言活动也都是围绕地震展开。

本单元共分八个部分。

Warming-up 部分通过两张图片引出话题“一旦地震发生,将会造成怎样的危害”,为后面的主题作了一个热身运动。

Pre-reading 部分设置了两个开放性问题,目的是增加学生的生活常识,提高他们的应变能力。

这部分为接下来的阅读作了很好的铺垫,学生可通过套乱,参阅有关地震的书籍并运用一些生活常识来回答这两个问题。

Reading 部分具体描写了1976年唐山大地震的震前、震中和震后。

It is believed to be the largest earthquake was near Tangshan in Hebei, People’s Republic of China, an industrious city with approximately one million inhabitants(居民). The number of deaths initially reported by the Chinese government was 655,000. A further 164,000 people were recorded as being severely injured. Chinese government’s official sources stated 7.8 on the Richter magnitude scale, though some sources listed it as high as 8.2.
