在a tall boy from Class Three这个例子中,tall一个单词,高个的,在名词boy前作前置定语;from Class Three,来自三班的,不再是一个单词,而是一个介词短语,需要放在名词boy后作后置定语。

Pluff! A hundred and eighty-five kilograms."但是让人感到不快的是,我们从注释中得知某诗行讲述的是一个土耳其军官和一个保加利亚军官在桥上动手打架并双双掉进河里的事情,而后我们却发现该行诗中不过只充斥着"扑通,扑通,185公斤重"这类对他们落水时的动静以及对军官们体重的描写时。

If you do, you must be a person full of hopeful happy feeling about life. Do you like grey and blue? Then maybe you are quiet, and you would rather go after than go before. And sometimes you feel unhappy. If you love green, you arestrong-minded. You wish to do everything well and want other people to see you are successful. At least this is what psychologists tell us. They tell us that we don‘t choose our favourite colour as we grow up. If you happen to love brown, you did so as soon as you opened your eyes, or at least as soon as you could see clearly.A yellow room makes us feel happier and more comfortable than a dark green one; and a red dress brings warmth and gladness to the saddest winter day. Light and bright colours make people not only happier but more active. It is a fact that factory workers work better, harder and have fewaccidents when their machines are painted orange rather than black dark grey.Remember, then, that if you feel low, you can always brighten your day or your life with a new shirt or a few colourful things. Remember also that you will know your friends better when you find out what colours they like and dislike. And don‘t forget that anyone can guess a lot about your character when you choose something in different colours.26. If you love green, ___________.(A) you feel unhappy(B) you are strong-minded(C) you are happy(D) you feel comfortable27. Factory workers will have fewer accidents when ______.(A) they work in yellow or orange rooms(B) they work harder in red coats(C) they work on the orange machines(D) they work on the black machines28. 英译中Head InjuriesAlice was a B-plus student through her first three years at college. During the winter holidays in her senior year, while she was driving during a storm, her car ran off the road and hit a tree. Alice banged her head on the steering wheel but never lost consciousness. She was treated for bruises and discharged from the hospital within a day. But, back at her studies, she began to have difficulties. Suddenly her As and Bs were becoming Cs. She had trouble remembering what she'd read and was irritable and easily distracted.Alice was referred to a neuropsychologist for further examination. Although her IQ hadn't changed and standard neurological tests were normal, detailed neuropsychological tests showed she was having memory problems. She could still process new information, but it took longer than before and she became "overloaded" if she tried to do too much at once.Head injuries are often fatal, or of sufficient severity to require the hospitalization of victims. But there is a large group of people who sustain head injuries which can go undetected through ordinary medical examination. These are the people who seemingly recover from their injuries but still suffer subtle intellectualand behavioural effects that may seriously impair their ability to work and interact normally with other people. They are the victims of what experts call a "silent epidemic". Some never lost consciousness and others never even suffered a direct blow to the head, yet brain damage occurred.参考译文头部受伤爱丽丝在大学的前三年,一直是个4+分的学生。

2020年11月全国翻译专业资格考试一级笔译实务真题(CATTI)
2020年11月全国翻译专业资格(水平)考试英语一级《笔译实务》真题编辑:李振龙2020年11月CATTI全国翻译专业资格(水平)考试英语一级《笔译实务》试题Section 1: translationPart 1 English-Chinese translation(英译汉)(40points)Alice Munro, winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Literature, once observed: “The complexity of things —the things within things —just seems to be endless. I mean nothing is easy, nothing is simple.”That is also a perfect description of Ms. Munro’s quietly radiant short stories — stories that have established her as one of the foremost practitioners of the form. Set largely in small-town and rural Canada and often focused on the lives of girls and women, her tales have the swoop and density of big, intimate novels, mapping the crevices of characters’ hearts with cleareyed Chekhovian empathy and wisdom.Fluent and deceptively artless on the page, these stories are actually amazingly intricate constructions that move back and forth in time, back and forth between reality and memory, opening out, magically, to disclose the long panoramic vistas in these people’s lives (the starts, stops and reve rsals that stand out as hinge moments in their personal histories) and the homely details of their day-to-day routines: the dull coping with “food and mess and houses” that can take up so much of their heroines’ time.Ms. Munro’s stories possess an emotio nal amplitude and a psychological density that stand in sharp contrast to the minimalistic work of Raymond Carver, and to Donald Barthelme’s playful, postmodernist tales. Her understanding of the music of domestic life, her ability to simultaneously detail her characters’ inner landscapes and their place in a meticulously observed community, and her talent for charting “the progress of love” as it morphs and mutates through time —these gifts have not only helped Ms. Munro redefine the contours of the contemporary short story, but have also made her one of today’s most influential writers. In short fiction that spans four and a half decades. Ms. Munro has given us prismatic portraits of ordinary people that reveal their intelligence, toughness and capacity to dream, as well as their lies, blind spots and lapses of courage and good will. Such descriptions are delivered not with judgmental。

The idea of women in the business was unthinkable. No “nice” woman would dream of entering what was strictly a “man‘s world”.Teaching was the first profession open to women soon after 1800. But even that was not an easy profession for women to enter because most high schools and colleges were open only to men.Hospital nursing became respectable work for women only after Florence Nightingale became famous.
