学院位于伦敦北面50里以外的剑桥镇，这是一个没有指定校园、没有围墙，也没有校牌的开放式殿堂；绝大多数的学院、研究所、图书馆和实验室都建在剑桥镇的剑河两岸，以及镇内的不同地点，智慧王国的“剑桥之名”也由此而来。
