Step I Revision

1.Revise the words and the sentences“What’s this in English?”

2.Do 1a. Ask students to look at the picture. Hold up the picture and point to an object in it. Ask

a student: What’s this? If the student can’t answer, ask other students until one gives you the

answer. Then check students’ answers. Ask students to call out their words and spell them. 3.Teach new words to the Ss and then let them read.

Step II Pairwork

Greet people and introduce yourself.

Step III Presentation

1.Look at the picture 1a, listen to the conversations.

2.Do 1b.

Play the recording the first time, students only listen.

Play the recording the second time, students number the conversations.

Check the answers.

3.Listen and repeat the conversations.

4.Pairwork 1c.

Read the conversation in 1b,substituting the names of students in the class. Have students repeat.

Ask students to practice the conversations in 1b with a partner. Ask them to use their own names.

After students have practiced several times, ask pairs to go to then front of the class and greet each other using their own names.

Peport:self-introduction

Use: My name is…

I am …

I want t be your good friend.

Step IV Listening

1.Look at the picture 2a, listen to the conversations.

Write “my, your,his ,her” on the blackboard. Give sentences such as My names’s_____. Your names’s_____. His names’s_____. Her names’s_____. Explain the differences between his and her.

2.Play the tape.

3.Teach the class to read the names.

4.Do 2a & 2b.

Step V Pairwork

Do P2-2c.Then role-play 2d.

Step VI Grammer Focus

1.Let Ss read and ask any questions.

2.Teach them how to write the sentences.

Step VII Homework

Let students make a dialogue “How do you meet new students at school?”

【学习目标】

Step I Revision

1.Revise the words the students have learned from last class.

Ask students to call out the words and spell them.

Grammar Focus.

Check if they have remembered the possessive adjectives such as his, her, your, my.

Role-play the conversation on P2-2d.

Encourage students to practice the dialogue again, and let them create their dialogues like that. Step II Activity 3a.

Do it by themselves.

Check the answers.

Practice the conversations.

Step III Pairwork 3b.

1.Check the answers.

2.Practice the conversations.

Step IV Name game 3c.

Rules: Every student should introduce himself and herself, but at the same time he/she should repeat all the above-mentioned classmates’names. The winners of the games will get some prizes. Step V Test in this part.

Step VI Learn an English song “The More We Get Together”

The more we get together, together, together, the more we get together, the happier

we’ll be! For your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends, the more we

get together, the happier we’ll be!

Step VI Homework

Now you have known something about introductions and greetings. Try to imagine that you are in a new place, how do you introduce yourself and greet others? Please write a short dialogue about it.
