design requires constant improvement, increasing enhancement, self-challenge and self-declaration. The key of design is discovery, only by constant thorough（深入的 ）feeling and experience. Touching people is a challenge for designers.

▪ The concrete expressing form is a natural form loyal
to object matters by highly-summarized(高度概括） and extracted（提炼） concrete designs. Being distinctive（鲜明） images and features, the form concentrates（浓缩） and extracts, summarizes and simplifies, emphasizes and exaggerates its essential elements（本质因素）. The concrete expressing form can be divided into: human body modeling （造型） patterns, animal modeling patterns, plant modeling patterns, appliance（器物） modeling patterns, and nature modeling patterns.

1. Definition of plane design
▪ In a broad sense, plane design means shaping
activity plan（造型活动计划）; in a narrow sense, it means pattern decoration（图案装饰）. In plane design, you need to broadcast your idea and plan by visual elements. The plane design includes designs for reading ways of printed matter, cultural commercial advertisement, and probing into design technique method（设计技术方法探讨）, etc.

Feature of plane design
▪ Design is integration（结合） of science and art, as
well as product of commercial society. In commercial society, plane design needs balance of art design and creation ideal, needs objectivity（客观） and restraint（克制）, and needs to express the entruster’s（委托人） ideas by creators. Design is different from art, because design should not only conform to aesthetics（审美性） but also be of practical uses. Being considerate and thinking of other people, based on people, design is a need not merely decoration, adornment（装潢）.
