The Outline

Title: The Survey of English Listening Ability

of English Majors

Abstract: After the collection and deliberation of the material of our school English majors' English listening ability, The writer find that the objective and subjective factors that restrict the improvement of our school English majors' English listening ability are those: the teachers' teaching means and methods; the English majors' listening skills and strategies; the listening equipment; the English majors' learning motivation. Thus, the writer make a questionnaire and makes use of the method of quantitative analysis to conduct an investigation on the status quo of our school English majors' English listening ability. Then the writer analyzes and ponders over the result of the investigation. Therefore, this paper put forward some approaches to strengthen the listening teaching and improve our school English majors' English listening ability.
