Traditional intuitive experience methodfocuses on personal experience and intuition,manual methods or introspective method whichcould acquire linguistic knowledge only from limited data of language materials. This method ofacquiring linguistic knowledge is not only inefficiency but also more subjective which inevitablyleads a effect on the accuracy of final result. However, corpus-based approach is totally different.Corpus can find the target data quickly by using computer software for scientific analysis, andovercome the limitation of traditional research on the subjectivity and one-sidedness. Thismacroscopic method can carry on a multi-level and all-rounded research on the basis of a largenumber of real data, and effectively promote the new theoretical model and research paradigm. Sinclair broke the previous rules of describing vocabulary and grammar in aseparate way. Therefore, a new point of view has been proposed. Then he proposed lexical grammar, and believed thatvocabulary and grammar are equally important, in which vocabulary is the starting point forbuilding the language model. The primary sources for the corpus are about 300 pieces of news headlines from the New York Times, the Times and China Daily. Such a corpus can help the author acquire a more objective conclusion after adequate quantitative analysis.Findings from a corpus-based research are more reliablethan what is gained from intuition or case studies on individual tests. The corpus can present some information about the frequency of certain phenomena. Hence, the corpus-oriented research on news headlines can show the frequency of metaphor and other rhetorical methods, which may not be available for other research methods. Nowadays, a particular corpus for news headlines is not yet realized. However, the feasibility of setting up such a corpus has been confirmed in many cases. Deignan (2005) states in her book the feasibility of building a corpus for certain field studies has been verified in many cases. 首先,集中于对《伤心咖啡馆之歌》的研究,其他作品极少涉及目前,国内对于麦卡勒斯作品的研究论文共有二十多篇,其中12篇是对《伤心咖啡馆之歌》的评述,4篇是对《心是孤独的猎手》的研究,而对麦卡勒斯的其他作品的研究只有两篇(《〈一棵树、一块岩石和一朵云〉的标题的象征意义》和英语硕士论文《论麦卡勒斯〈婚礼的成员〉的怪诞色彩》)。
2.国内外研究现状综述:
①国外研究状况
国外对麦卡勒斯小说的研究主要有三种主要力量,即“新批评”、“女性主义批评”、以及新兴的“酷儿理论”研究。
“新批评”提倡的“文本细读法”过度重视文本。研究者林斌在其学术论文《卡森·麦卡勒斯20世纪四十年代小说研究述评》中指出“‘新批评’导致评论界长期忽视了麦卡勒斯作品在具体政治文化语境中的意义,以至于作者对上个世纪中期特别是二战前后美国社会主流意识形态的批判立场没有得到充分认识,从而导致作品主题的误读。”“麦卡勒斯在《伤心咖啡馆之歌》中提出的爱的理论就是一个典型例证。叙述者宣称,爱作为一种不可理喻的行为,其施动者与受动者之间处于不平等地位,难以沟通,前者虽然饱尝孤独的痛苦折磨却掌握着主动权,而后者则由于受制于人而产生恐惧和憎恨情绪;这个观点一直被公众当作普遍真理乃至警世恒言反复引用。这种做法最终造成的结果是,以“新批评”为导向的麦卡勒斯研究大多忽视甚至割断了个人遭遇和生活感悟与机构化暴行二者之间的关联,诗性分析掩盖了文学作品的深层社会意义。”;女性主义批评主要是从三个方面对新批评作了修正,即:女性形象批评、在女性文学传统中分析文本以及在意识形态领域对文本进行文化研究。这三方面的努力弥补了新批评中性别缺失的不足,较全面的分析了麦卡勒斯作品中的性别因素。代表文章即后殖民主义理论家斯皮瓦克的《三个女性主义读本:麦卡勒斯、德拉布尔、哈贝马斯》;酷儿理论是近年来麦卡勒斯研究中较为新颖的理论。酷儿理论对麦卡勒斯小说的研究是具有开拓性的,主要从性别角度入手进行研究,对麦卡勒斯文本中的双性同体进行深入研究。它不仅给小说中“怪诞”的人物形象一个相对合理的身份定位,还更正了传统研究中对“精神隔绝”的普遍价值说,发掘出小说背后的社会背景事件,如二战的结束,冷战初期的偏执等等,发现小说中“freak”和“queer”与种族性别之间的关系。而且在对麦卡勒斯小说的研究中,酷儿理论家还发现了麦卡勒斯创作中的某种身份认同,麦卡勒斯把现实中自己的某些身份上的焦虑和困惑反映在了自己的创作中,正如同性恋作家萨拉.舒尔曼所说“因为她没有找到自己所属的类别,所以她将自己的影子投射到形形色色、身份各异的一系列遭到惩罚、受到鄙视的人身上”。酷儿理论的引入为麦卡勒斯研究提供了一种新的研究方法,启发研究者们抛开二元思维方式,开拓思维,多角度的思考问题,为麦卡勒斯研究注入了新的活力。
2.本项目的创新之处
将福柯思想贯穿于对作品中身份政治与自我建构问题的探究,以福柯视角凝视作品中的“他者”,在“出入”文本的同时开拓对世界的看取方式,赋予作品以谱系学与伦理学双重意义。

麦卡勒斯的作品《伤心咖啡馆之歌》、《心是孤独的猎手》、《婚礼的成员》等
大部分主要作品已翻译成了中文。国内最早的评论是赵衡毅写的《孤独者的悲歌》,内容和艺术手法两方面对麦卡勒斯的小说一一分析并指出其小说的孤独主题。九十年代以后,国内的学者对麦卡勒斯给予了更多的关注。一方面,新出的美国文学史,如李公昭主编的《20世纪美国文学导论》和汪敬着的《20世纪美国文学史》都会对其专门介绍一番;另一方面,评论文章相继问世,评论角度也日趋增多,但仍留下大片空白。

其次,集中于对作品的主题研究,没有对人物形象全面而细致的解读。国内对于麦卡勒斯作品的研究论文大部分都集中于对主题的解读,《猎手的悲歌——浅论麦卡勒斯小说主题》(王媛媛,2003年)、《生死都寂寞,爱恨皆孤独——卡森·麦卡勒斯小说孤独主题研究》(施玲,2005年)和《怪诞不怪,怪中寓真——评麦卡勒斯的小说〈伤心咖啡馆之歌〉》(蔡春露)等。虽然也有个别对于作品叙事、性别观等的研究,但数量极少,如《文本“过度阐释”及其历史语境分析——从〈伤心咖啡馆之歌〉的“反犹倾向”谈起》(林斌,2004年)、《〈伤心咖啡馆之歌〉中“狂欢乌托邦”的诞生与灭亡》(林斌,2004年)、《〈伤心咖啡馆之歌〉的“二元性别观”透视》(林斌)、《〈伤心咖啡馆之歌〉的互文性解读》(袁曦,2006年)等。目前国内极少有对麦卡勒斯小说中人物形象及其命运给予重点关注并进行分析的研究。
