Welcome to the unit

Teaching Aims:1.To talk about Ss’ dream homes.

2.To recognize the architectures in different countries.

3. To know how to express different countries and their capitals in English.

How to ask and answer about different countries and their capitals in English.

Teaching steps:

Step1 Lead-in

1. Ask questions: How many countries do you

know?

Can you tell us the names of the countries?

2. Show the map of the world to the students and

teach the different countries

Step2 Welcome to unit

1. Show students some famous pictures and ask:

Do you know the names of these famous places?

Which countries are they in?

2. Teach the countries and capitals

3. Practice in pairs

B: The capital of ……is ……?
