If you see someone fall onto the ground because of a heart problem, what will you do before doctors come? Chen Wenqiao set a good example when he was 14. He did CPR (心肺复苏) in his school and saved a man's life in 2013. Chen showed that it was quite useful to know how to do CPR.

According to medical experts, there is a "golden period(黄金期)"—the first 4 minutes of a heart problem. During the time, CPR makes the biggest difference. Unluckily, only less than I percent of Chinese adults have known the skill of CPR, while many even have never heard of it. On August 24 of 2020, the Ministry of ERCSC made a joint guideline (联合指示) to ask all public schools to give first-aid(急救) courses, including (包括)CPR training.

CPR is not hard to learn. All that one needs to do is how to watch and decide if a person is unconscious (失去知觉的), where to press on the patient's chest, and how to blow air through the mouth and into the lungs(肺).

A 2017 study showed that 65 percent of Americans had received CPR training. In Switzerland, all people are asked to be trained in first aid, including CPR: tn Germany, everyone must be trained before getting their driver's license, which means about 80 percent of the country has received first-aid training. Forty percent of people in France are also trained in first aid.
