As the raven "still is sitting", which indicates the fact cannot be changed, his soul is trapped beneath the raven’s shadow and shall be lifted“nevermore”.

the hero still insists on asking the raven all sorts of questions from weak to strong ones progressively and hopes it can bring satisfying answer for him but the raven replies the only answer for all the questions , which makes the hero suffering more and more severe setback psychologically. Firstly, He becomes angry, calling the raven a "thing of evil" and a "prophet", and later, he asks the raven whether he will be united with Lenore in Heaven. When the raven responds with its typical "Nevermore", he even shrieks and commands the raven to return to the "Plutonian shore"! Although he knows she will never come back, he cannot accept the fact as well as refusing the raven’s response-nevermore
madness.
