why you think it was interesting. Include reasons and details in your response.
2.Some students prefer to take an essay question where they must write an essay to
a question. Other students prefer to take a test with objective questions. Which
type of exam question do you prefer? Give reasons and examples in your explanation.
As for me, I prefer to take an essay question for the following reasons. First of all, on some degree, I think objective questions are somewhat unfair. People who don’t know the answer at all may choose the right answer. In contrast, essay questions test the true ability of student because only when the students know the answer, can they get the score. Second, essay questions leave more room for the students to imagine and express. They can totally deliver their own ideas by their own word. And the essay questions test not only the knowledge of the students but also the ability to express themselves. I like to express my ideas in the exams, so I prefer to take the essay questions.
3.Among the following three types of professions, which do you think makes the
most important contribution to society? Primary school teacher, nurse, artist.
As far as I am concerned, I think primary school teacher makes the most important contribution to the society. Being a primary school teacher is a sacred duty. Since children are the future of the country, people pay more attention to the education nowadays, especially the primary education. They deliver the fundamental knowledge to the children, teach them to learn and create. In other word, they are nurturing the flower of the country. Additionally, they take the responsibility to take care of the children, which makes the parents spend more time in working. In hence, primary school teachers are more important because they need to lead the children to their future safely and happily.
4.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People who are 18 years
old are not mature enough to vote.
I do agree with the point that people is not mature enough to vote when they are 18. Even though they are adults legally, most of them are still at school. Because of the heavy schedule, seldom do they pay attention to the local politics. Meanwhile, they never really step into the society and can not distinguish what is wrong and what is right in some cases. Some of my classmates get involved in the elevation last year, but I think they did nothing useful because they even don’t know any of the candidates. They just choose a name they like. So I think only when we step into the society , are we mature enough to vote.
5.Our society is now facing very serious environment problems. Choose one
approach that you believe to be useful to save our planet.
To save our planet, I think limiting the use of cars is a down-to-earth and efficient way that we can do now. As we know, since more and more cars are produced, the roads become quite crowed. In the meanwhile, more and more exhaust gas are emitted into the atmosphere. It is reported that the emission from the cars in the city plays a significant role in air pollution and cause of certain illness like cough, lung disease. So limiting the number of cars in cities is necessary. The government should encourage the citizens to choose other way to go out like by bus, by subway or by bike. Maybe it makes little sense for a certain person, however, if everyone make an effort, the result will be fascinating.
6.Are you willing to carefully choose the gift which your friends like or choose
whatever you like?
Of course, I am willing to choose the gift my friends like. The taste differs from person to person. The gift that think is best may not suit my friend’s taste. For example, once I need to buy a gift for one of my friend’s birthday. Since my friend is a girl. I think a purple bag would be suitable. However, I never saw her use the bag, later on ,I heard from other people that purple is not her taste. Since then, every time I choose a gift, I pay more attention to the need of my friend. I may ask other people for information or I directly ask my friend what he or she like most.
7.描述Mystery, science fiction, biography三类书中你最不喜欢哪类?Why? Among the three types of books, I like biography least. My reasons are as follows. First of all, biography is always long an d tedious. The book talks about one’s whole life, from a little child with big dream to an old man with rich experience. And the story in the book may not be so passionate. The author just record what he think is interesting. I always lose my patience when I read the biography. Mystery is always interesting and imaginative. And science fiction is full of passion and I like these two types of books very much.

As for me, I prefer to travel with my family. Since I am busy with my study and seldom go home in holidays, I treasure the chance to go to vocation with my family. During the vacation, I talk to my parents, we enjoy the scenery, eat the local food, feel the local culture together. Furthermore, I think travel with my parents is safer than travelling alone. They know what is dangerous more clearly. I may get hurt or cheated when I go to another place alone because my social experience is limited. And the last
reason I like go travelling with my parents is that I can depend on my parents. They arrange the plan, they book the hotel and I just enjoy the vocation.
9.Describe a good study habit you have that is different from other students.
I think a good study habit I have that other people may not have is the review habit. Unlike other people, I review what I learn that day before I sleep. Usually I will write a summary of what I learn in a paper during the day, then before I sleep, I will take out of the paper to review. I always ask myself what I learn that day, what I don’t underst and yet. Then I take down what I really don’t understand and the next day, I go the teacher for help. This habit helps me to handle the heavy schedule and figure out my weak points. Thanks to the habit, my academic work goes pretty pleasant.
10.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Playing computer or video
games has a negative influence on teenagers.
Personally speaking, I agree with the point that playing computer or video games is more curse than a bliss for teenagers. First of all, teenagers should focus on the study instead of computer games. They cannot balance the study time and game time. As long as they get addicted to the game, they can hardly concentrate on study again. Second, playing computer games for too long does harm to tee nagers’ health. Many teenagers are short-sighted, computer games should be responsible. It is reported that some teenagers even died because of playing computer games too often. Since teenagers spend too much time in computer games, they have fewer chances to communicate with their family , friends or teachers.
11.What kind of music do you like the least? Give reasons why you do not like this
kind of music.
As for me, I think rock music is one type of music that I like least. My reasons are as follows. First of all, the rock music is too noisy for me. I am a silent people so I like listen to soft music like country music and light music. They get me into peace. In contrast, rock music makes feel annoyed. When I listen to music, I always carry on other things like reading. Rock music just disturbs me and I cannot concentrate on other things. Second, I can hardly understand rock music. The rhythm is fast, the lyric is obscure. I can not hear the lyric clearly and even I can distinguish what the singer is singing, the lyric itself is always meaningless for me.
12.Some college students like to spend their time free time studying another course
or doing schoolwork. Others like to join a club and enjoy club activities. Which do you think is better and why?
As far as I am concerned, it is better for students to join a club and enjoy club activities. Firstly, social activities help students to gain much more experiences before they step into society. In a club, they may contact all kinds of people and receive much more information from them. Secondly, students can recognize themselves
better by attending club activities. They can find out what they are skilled in and what they really want to do. Thirdly,by touching all kinds of club activities ,students can practice other abilities like cooperation and leadship, which help them to get well prepared for the future career . So, club activities colour the college life and benefit the student in many aspects.

Among the three types of people, I admire the people with artistic skills most. First of all, I like art such as painting, music and sculpture very much but I cannot be skilled in any of them. It cost a lot of time for a people to become a real artist. To become a artist, people need both talent and hard work, some people even spend their whole life to become an artist. Second, I regard those people with artic skills as the successors of the culture. They look deep into the heart of the country and express the spirit with beautiful work like a piece of music or a picture.
14.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? All high school students
should take economic classes.
I don’t agree with the statement that all high school students should take e conomic classes for the following reasons. First of all, the time for the students to study is limited. For science students, they need to handle other subject like chemistry, physics and biology. I’m not saying that economic classes are not important, I j ust reckon the schedule will be too heavy for the students. Second, some students may not be interested in economy, they may intrigued by science. In that case, taking economic classes is meaningless. Since they are not interested, they pay little attention to the classes. I think it is a waste of time for those students.

should learn how to manage their time more efficiently.
Of course I agree with the statement that university students should learn how to manage their time more efficiently. Compared with the high school, college life is more flexible. There is much extra time for the students. For example, in my major, we often have 6 class one day. Some of my classmates just sit at the dormitory, playing computer games, some other people manage their time more efficiently. They finished their tasks as soon as possible and learn other subject like economy, management, which they are interested in. Actually, we can learn more in college than in high school as long as we manage the time more efficiently.
16.Some people think it is better for students to study in a classroom building. Others
think that it is better for students to study on the Internet. Which do you think is better and why?
Personally, I think studying in a classroom building is more reasonable. My reasons are as follows. First of all, students get used to have classes in classroom , the study efficiency will low down if they change the way. In classroom, students pay more attention to what the teacher say. The process is vivid. The teacher can also ask students to answer questions to make sure the students get the point. If they study on the internet , they may not have the chance to practice their answer skills. Second, students can communicate with each other if they are studying in the classroom. They can express their opinions to each other. If they get some questions, they can even chat with the professors.
17.What are some of the benefits that cell phones bring to people?
Nowadays, cell phones really play an important role in people’s life. There are many benefits that cell phones bring to people. First, people communicate with each other more conveniently. The cell phone connect people with their family, friends, boss and colleagues. With the help of cell phones, we get the messages from other people the first time. Second, cell phones are also a useful tools in life. Based on the internet, we can use the cell phone to search information we need in google. The map in the cell phone also helps people get the right place in a new city. Thanks to the internet technology, a lot of mobile software have been developed and people can get huge benefit from them.
18.Do you agree or disagree that students should be required to go to school before
they are 16.
Personally speaking, I agree that students should be required to go to school before they are 16. There are many benefits to do so. First, they can get more knowledge. The teachers at school can impart all kinds of knowledge systematically and efficiently. They can help the students to figure out their own interests and lead them to the right way. Second, students can make a lot of friends at school. They communicate with each other and establish firm relationship. It is beneficial for the development of the student. Third, it is safer for students to go to school. It is too dangerous for them to step into society too early.
19.People often feel home sick when they are away from home. What do you often
do to deal with home sickness?
When I came to the university, I also feel home sick. And I have many ways to deal with home sickness. One method is calling my parents, of course. I made a call every day, telling my parents the life at school and received support from them. By chatting with my parents, I felt more encouraged. The other method is to make new friends at school. Most of us are from different places, and every one more or less felt home sick. Then we communicated with each other, play sports together. By making some
good friends, I get adapt to the new life more easily.
20.Do you prefer to take courses relating to a specific career, or do you prefer to take
a variety of courses?
Personally speaking, I prefer to take a variety of courses for the following reasons. First of all, taking only one kind of courses is tedious. I can easily lose my interest in the courses. I think it is not a good thing if I lose my interest in the subject that I may choose as my career. Second, I need to take a variety of courses to enrich my knowledge. Courses of one kind are limited. If I want to be a fully developed individual, I need to know knowledge in other fields. Third, taking other courses also provides me a good chance to learn other information , I may find other interest in other fields.。
