1.Do you work or are you a student?

Presently I am a student.

I have been studying at university for three years. And I will graduate in one year.

2.What’s your major?

My major is English.

And I’m really crazy about it. You can’t imagine how happy I am whenever I attend English classes.

3.Why did you choose to study that?

Well, actually there are several reasons for it.

First, because I wanna be a translator in the future. I admire famous

Chinese translators like Ji xian lin and Xu guozhang very much.

In addition, I’m fond of reading worldwide literature masterpieces

such as One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Unbearable

Lightness of Being, Pride and Prejudice and so on.

4.Is there anything you don’t like about your studies?

Well, I don’t like some of the courses such as Law and Politics.

In fact, I just have to take them for the credits. To be honest,

I don’t think I benefited a lot from them.

5.What subject do you like the most?

Well, it’s hard to say really. But I guess my favorite subject would be Advanced Listening. Because I have an absolutely amazing teacher called Michael and I love his class very much.

6.Which subject do you think will be most useful to you after you leave university?

Well, I suppose my Spoken English class will be most useful since I am planning to study in Australia. I hope to communicate with the local people freely . I think a lot of people realize the importance of spoken English.

7.Do you often get together with your classmates after class?

Yes, I get together with my classmates as much as I can after

class. We always go to the library together, go shopping and even

swimming together. As you know, getting together with them really

helps to relieve a lot of pressure.

1.What do you do in your holidays?

Well, I always do different types of activities in holidays.

For most holidays, I just stay at home and rest and enjoy myself. I can read all kinds of novels. Such as One Hundred Years of Solitude, Pride and Prejudice, The Making of Steel and so on. (Besides, I often play computer games like Woool, Warcraft, Need of Speed and so on.)

But if it’s a particularly long holiday I like to travel. I’d like to visit different places all over Chi na. Such as Suzhou, Beijing and places like that.

2.Do you think holidays are becoming more and more important?

Not necessarily. Holidays have always been important to people. But of course the harder your work, the more important your holiday becomes to you, because you need that relaxation more.

3.Do you like to travel in your holidays or free time?

I love to travel in holidays, especially to places I have ne ver been to before. Such as Thailand, Holland and so on. I really enjoy travelling because when you have a change of scenery and a change of environment for a while, it helps you to relax and is good for your health.

4.What kind of places do you like to travel?

I like to travel to exotic places, different countries, and places with beautiful natural scenery like New Zealand and Holland. However I don’t often have the opportunity to go to places like that. So instead I like to go to places where I can enjoy myself with my friends and where there are fun things to do together. For example , Beijing, Shanghai, and so on.

5.Have you ever been to the seaside?

Yes, I’ve had several vacations on the seaside.

And I really had a wonderful time there.

Actually, there is a beach not too far from where my family lives, so every time I go to visit my family, we spend a lot of time on the beach.

6.Why do some people take their holidays at the seaside?

(There are several reasons for that.) First I guess they like to swim, life on the sand, tan, and go sailing on the sea. Plus there are usually a lot of nice restaurants near the seaside and it is a good opportunity to enjoy fresh seafood like lobsters and tuna fish.

7.Do you want to live near the sea?
