On Color words in Chinese and Western Culture [Abstract]This article mainly aims at talking about the difference of these color words in Chinese and western culture by using specific lists, contrast and analysis of Chinese and western culture in the symbolic meaning of color words. It is known that the culture of the country had a profound influence on the development of citizen’s aesthetic taste and national psychology. So, we could find that the color words are obviously endowed with different emotional and cultural symbol in China and West. For the same color in different content often have different characteristics and meanings, some characteristics are unique and meanings are interesting which may make people from other country confused. We should not only know the basic meaning of their own but also profoundly understand its deep symbolic meanings. In order to further understand the color words in western country and help people reduce embarrassment in communication, it is necessary for us to do some research about these color words.

●The comparison with English and Chinese color words

Different color words have different meanings in both English and Chinese. Color words can not only describe the objective view and the thing, it also has the very strong moral effect, gives the abstract things an image of the figurative meaning. The color of simple to admire the orders of the characters of sublimation to conduct image expression is the language of the unique function of color words.
