We should have breakfast everyday.

Good afternoon, everyone! Before I start my speech, I want to ask you a question.Have you had breakfast today?Breakfast is defined between seven and nine in the morning.OK,some of you didn’t have breakfast.It's close to the data from a survey.

According to the survey report on breakfast and diet of Chinese residents, 35% of the respondents could not eat breakfast every day.Among them, the college students who don’t have breakfast account for a large proportion.However,I can tell you very responsibly that we should have breakfast everyday.

The phenomenon that more and more college students don’t have breakfast is more serious.Once upon a time,I was one of them.There are many reasons to skip breakfast.Take me for an example.I summarize three common reasons why I don’t have breakfast.

First, I can’t get up without morning classes.If I don’t have classes in the morning,I really want to sleep until I wake up naturally. No doubt I’ll miss breakfast.Second, there is no time for breakfast when I have classes in the morning.If I have an early class, it means I need to get up early. But if I didn't go to bed early last night, it would be difficult for me to get up.I would have no time to have breakfast because I was afraid of being late.Third, I think breakfast is not important.

But,after a while, everything changed.As time passed by,I found I often felt dizzy and limp in class.My memory failed and I couldn’t concentrate.My stomach often hurt whether I ate or not.I even felt sick at the sight of food.Finally,under duress,I went to see a doctor.Doctor said this was due to anorexia caused by skipping breakfast.As long as I keep taking medicine and having breakfast,my stomachache will be relieved.

All of these are the results of skipping breakfast. But if we keep having breakfast everyday,what changes will take place in our life? There are three significant changes.

First,we can stay energized by having breakfast.After a night, our blood sugar is low in the morning, so we need to replenish energy in time. Breakfast provides us with 1/4 of the energy needed for daily activities. Second, we will live longer by having breakfast.According to the International Journal of food nutrition, people who eat porridge every morning are healthy, while people who rarely eat breakfast are not.

Researchers found that centenarians often eat breakfast, and they never skip it.Third,it is easier for us to lose weight and keep fit.Many people may have a misconception about dieting. They think that skipping breakfast will help burn fat. This is wrong. Once the body is aware of a nutritional deficiency, it burns carbohydrates and protein first, and fat last. Skipping breakfast causes you to eat more at lunch and dinner, which makes it harder to lose weight by overeating. So people who want to lose weight must eat breakfast.

So what can we do to make sure we eat breakfast everyday? Here are two simple suggestions.First,we should go to bed early to ensure enough sleep.If we get enough sleep, it won’t be difficult for us to get up the next day.Second,if we know that we have to stay up because of some deadlines,we can buy some bread、milk or something else in advance.However,it is better not to eat snacks or puffed food instead of breakfast.

Breakfast is really,really important, and I think we all realize that.In that case, let’s go to have breakfast and be healthier.
