电影《追风筝的人》概括

《The kite runner》is a story about atonement.

Amir and Hassan are best friends since their childhood. Hassan was also Amir’s servant. They used to play happily together, or sit together at an willow(柳树) tree. Amir like making up stories and Hassan would listen carefully and joyfully. Time went happily by until that kite race, during which something ugly came.

There was hints ever since the story started；Hassan was a brave boy while Amir had always been too timid. When bad guys trouble them, Hassan would use his slingshot to get them away but Amir was just too afraid to fight back.

Hassan helped Amir win the kite race. However, after Hassan caught the kite which they shot down, the bad guys came again. They ordered Hassan to hand over the kite but Hassan refused. Then something cruel happened to Hassan. Amir happened to see the whole process but did nothing. He just hid himself in the dark and let his soul trapped in permanent guilt.

Amir wanted to get himself out of guilty feelings but he never showed any regret towards Hassan. Instead he slandered that Hassan had stolen his watch in order to drive them away and he made it. He was really a coward who always did nothing right, which made me really sick.

Then the war came and Hassan had to move to Pakistan with his father.

Life was good in Pakistan and he successfully graduated from college and then married a beautiful wife and then moved to America and eventually became a famous writer.

Then Rahim called him from Pakistan and told him that there was a way to be good again. Amir wasted no time and fly to Pakistan to see his old friend who later told him some secrets between Hassan, Amir and their father. It turned out that Hassan was Amir’s brother! Unfortunately Hassan was shot dead after he tried to protect Amir’ father’s house. Now Hassan’s only family was his son Sohrab, who was adopted in an orphanage in Afghanistan.

After days’ effort and risking his life in areas where Taliban took control, Amir finally found the boy and took him back to America.

In the last scene, Amir was flying kite together with Sohrab on a big vivid green grassland. The ever depressed Sohrab showed his smile when he saw kites flying in the blue sky. This time, Amir was going to catch a kite for Sohrab and he said to Sohrab the very moving words which Hassan said to him: For you, a thousand times over.

I was moved at last and I love this movie.

It is a movie that showed both the dark side and the good side of one person. While Amir refused to undo his mistakes, he was always feeling guilty even though he saw Hassan no more. But once he overcame his cowardice and tried to make up Hassan’s lost life, I forgave him and I
