Body Language 课堂实录

济南高新区第二实验学校张文娟

Step1. Pre-reading

T: Hello, boys and girls! Nice to meet you.

S:Nice to meet you too.

T:Would you please raise your right hand and turn to the teachers present at our class? Wave your hand to them and say hello to them .(The teacher raises her hand first and make an example. The students wave their hands and say hello to the teachers.)

T: Just now you used your body language to greet the techers. Now let’s enjoy some pictures .

(The teacher shows them pictures in which one person is using the thumbs-up gesture. Meanwhile , the teacher raises her thumb, and tells Ss it is thumb and gets the Ss to read out the word for several times.)

T: Can you guess what the man is doing ?

S1:Good ! S2:Great! S3: Wonderful!

(Then the teacher shows another picture in which one person is waving his index finger )

T: How about this one ?

S1: Come on ! S2: Come. (The teacher gives comments according to their answers.)T:Ok , one more picutre. What is the man doing?

( The teacher shows another picture in which a man is thinking .)

SS: He is thinking. He is listening.

(The teacher shows several more pictures related to body language and get the Ss to guess what the person in the picture is going to express. The students’ answers are in random, while the teacher just gives some corresponded comments such as : good idea, unique opinion , quite reasonsable etc. )

T: All the people in the picture use their body language . It’s clear that body languages are as important as words .We can learn a lot from one person’s body language, but body languages are different, now let’s come to read the passage to find out where

they are different.

【点评:】本环节通过展示图片让学生猜测所表达意思的方式,激发了学生大胆思考,开口说英语的积极性,同时也调动了学生对body language有进一步认识的兴趣。教师的衔接语自然紧扣课题。

Step2.While-reading

Task1. skimming

T: Now skim the whole passage and match the main idea with each paragraph. When reading ,you should pay attention to the first sentence of each paragraph.

(The teacher shows the ppt with the main ideas of each paragraph. Then invites one or two students to present their answers .Meanwhile ,the students are asked to read aloud the main idea in order to stress the main idea . Further more , the teacher leads the students to read the new word Universal to make sure the Ss can read it fluently. After checking the answers , shows the ppt with reading tip 1 : Pay attention to the first sentence of each paragraph)

【点评:】通过skimming的方式使学生对篇章有初步的整体感知,同时教师及时进行学法指导,关注了阅读技巧的渗透。

Task2.Careful reading

T: Now that we have known the main idea of the passage ,would you like to find more details of body language?

S: yes.

T: Now let’s start from the first paragraph.

Paragraph 1

(The teacher invites the whole class to read the first paragraph loudly together.)T:Who can answer the question:What do we use to show our thoughts and opinions? S:We use words and body language to show our thoughts and opinions.

Paragraph 2&3

T:Now please read paragraph 2 and 3 carefully and try to find out the information about the following body languages according to the table.
