五、课文解读：
（1）If we are not confident about ourselves, we may feel upset or nervous.
如果我们不自信，我们就会感到不安和紧张。be confident about意为“对有信心”。（2）We can put on a short play, just as we do at the English Corner.
我们可以演一部短剧，就像我们在英语角做的那样。
put on在这意为“上演，放映”，它还有“穿上，戴上”的意思。
如：She put on her coat and went to school.
(3) Let’s show him that we are proud of him. 使役动词let+ 动词原形
Let’s give Michael a surprise! Surprise在这作名词give a surprise to sb. = give sb. a surprise surprised “对……感到惊讶”作形容词，在句中主语通常是人。如：I am surprised to meet you here.
Surprising“使人惊奇”作形容词，休息的词或句子的主语通常是物。如：This is a surprising present.
