Why do you think “college just isn’t special anymore”?

Because today , college is seem as a kind of small town from which people are keen to escape. We are just study hard ,do a lot of homework in order to get a well-paid job. College has become a means to an end ,an opportunity to increase one’s chance ,and not an end in itself ,which gives you the chance to imagine .

While in the 1960s,the college students are very activity and maybe some radical . They hold student demonstrations and strikes,in order to fight for their Freedom and equality. Everywhere ,going to college meant your first taste of real freedom.

So compered with the old days college , tody college just isn’t special anymore.

What factors influenced your choice of university?

In my opinion ,first of all,it is the professional ranking that influence me most when choose university .when i choose universities ,my scores are not very high. In that case ,i could not choose a famous university . So i pay attention to its professional ranking. Second ,maybe the locate of the university . I wold like to go to a beautiful place . Soundings can develope one’s character. And as a north girl ,i am looking forward to go to south . To see a different scenery. That is why i choose Jinan university. Last but not least , the living conditions. I hope i can have my own desk to put my computer.

Unit 2 Mixed Feelings

When did you last feel happy (or angry, shy, sad)?

Last week ,i have a complex feeling. A year has gone .we come to the end . It is time to say goodbye. In the last year ,we hold activities together. In this we have laugh together ,we have cry together.we have sweat together. And we have worry together. We have so much unforgettable memory. It is hard to say goodbye. I feel sad. However on the other hand,it turn to us to take on the responsibility. I am ambitioned. I hope i can stay in this club. In that case ,i can play with them together. I can also arrange activities with the younger school-brothers and school-sisters. Latter we hold a meeting to select the next year’s principals. And i have been select to take charge of my branch. So i feel very happy. I think i will work hard to make our club more popular.

Which one do you think is more important, EQ or IQ?

In my opinion it is EQ that is more important. IQ is one’s level of intelligence. Through the IQ test ,we can know which level we may be and in certain degree it can tell our ability to study knowledge. While the EQ is a set of abilities that lets you form optimal relationships with yourself and others.
