About Asia Cruise Academy
ACA is the first institution awarding bachelor’s and master’s degree in cruise management in Asia. Besides, there are programs for MBA in cruise, yacht etc., and for short-term thematic training courses in cruise management. The mission statement of Asia Cruise Academy is to cultivate senior managers in the cruise industry. It conducts relevant researches and provides professional consultation on cruise building and repairing, cruise port management, cruise company operation and cruise travel services. ACA has 30 faculty members capable of teaching and research, 20 of them are full-time and the rest 10 are external experts. ACA has close co-operation with cruise research and consultative institutions overseas. ACA has completed nearly 100 national and international projects of cruise studies. In addition, ACA has participated in formulating the policies and standards of the cruise industry with National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information, Ministry of Transportation and the National Tourism Administration. Asia Cruise Academy provides intellectual support for the government and companies in coastal areas and Asian countries.
Quality of Education
• In the national evaluation of undergraduate education in 2004, SMU was awarded an “A” (Excellent). • Then in 2006 the SMU English-language specialty won “A” in the national assessment.
