Among the mountains in Hubei, Mafangshan features an elegant appeal; with lakes all over the Riverside City, Wuhan presents an impressive landscape. In the beautiful and long-standing city of Wuhan sits WUT, a prestigious institute of higher learning with some 60 years of history.

1.Charming Wuhan

Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province, is a megalopolis in central China. It boasts not only a remarkable unban landscape dotted with innumerable lakes of all shapes, but also a unique and rare administrative area composed of three towns, namely Hankou, Hanyang and Wuchang. In addition, Wuhan enjoys a nationwide fame for its abundant natural and cutural resources, not to mention the splendid Jin-Chu Culture.

Located in the center of ancient kingdom of Chu, Wuhan has long been an aggregation of human life with a history spanning over 3,500 years. As home to Zhiyin Culture, Songs of Chu and Yellow Crane Tower, it also enjoys chime bells, a masterpiece of Chu Cuture crowned as one of the world’s eight wonders. Accompanied by the endless Yantze River and Han River, every corner of the city is filled with traces left by the endurable historical and cultural traditions ranging in variety from Panlongcheng in Shang periods to military fortresses in the Three Kingdoms period, from one of the Four Famous Towns in Ming and Qing dynasties to the City of First Uprising in 1911 Revolution.

As one of China’s four major railway hubs and the regional aviation hub, Wuhan is also an important center in the national expressway network and shipment in the middle reaches of Yangtze River, living up to its reputation of communications hub. Thanks to the completed high-speed rail system, passengers are enabled to reach such major cities as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu with only four to five hours’s ride. Owing to its superior location, Wuhan links not only east China and west China, but also the north and the south, hence is reputed as “the heart of China’s economic and geographical exchanges”.

Wuhan is a city full of vigor and innovation, a perfect place to start a business. As a favored gathering place for the business community, it was the birthplace of China’s industrial sectors in modern times and has now grown into a significant industrial, scientific, educational and commercial center. In 2013, Wuhan’s economic aggregate totals 905.13 billion RMB, ranking 10th among major cities in China. McKinley Conway, a renowned American scholar, predicts, in his article The Megalopolis of the Future included by the magazine The Futurist, that in the following two to three decades, Wuhan and Shanghai are very much likely to be listed among the world’s ten supercities.
