Today I would like to give a brief introduction about Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis for you.

Opened on September 22, 2013, Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis is the biggest global film and television industry base of Wanda Group, which covers an area of 3.76 million square meters ,including the film and television industry park, film museum, film and television celebrity wax museum, film exhibition center, car limit show, Wanda cultural tourism town, resort hotel group, yacht club, marina bar street and international hospital.

Wang Jianlin, the director of Wanda Group, said that the Movie Metropolis, located in Huangdao area of Qingdao city , can produce 100 Chinese and foreign film and television works per year, once the building is complete and put into operation in 2017.

The outdoor shooting area in the Oriental Movie Metropolis industry park is divided into many spots with distinctive features, such as European style, the ancient capital of the Ming and Qing Dynasty, the Arab world and other filming locations. In the production area, there are 20 studios, including "the world's largest 10,000 square meters studio, and the world's only fixed underwater studio”. Furthermore, the China's largest film museum and a film celebrities wax museum will also be built in this park.

Qingdao, one of the most important cities in Chinese Shandong Province, has long been known by its famous tourism resource, which attracts millions of people around the world every year. The establishment of Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis, in my opinion, will boost the prosperities and progresses of Qingdao’s cultural industry, even change its city positioning, making Qingdao become the world famous film and television cultural tourism city. According to Wang Jianlin, to ensure that not less than 100 domestic film and television works will be shot in Qingdao every year, the Oriental Movie Metropolis plans to introduce more than 50 domestic film and television production companies, which，undoubtedly，will become Qingdao’s newest engine of economy.
