Dear Sam,
As the deadly COVID-19 outbreak continues to rage worldwide, I hope this e-mail finds you well. With my deepest regret, I have to inform you that I may not stick to our collaborative learning project, which was originally supposed to kick off on June 30th.
Please accept my genuine apology and account for the sudden change. It was the COVID-19 outbreak that resulted in the one-month delay of the college entrance exam. In other words, I am bound to be fully occupied in getting prepared for the once-in-a-lifetime challenge that falls on July 7th.
Therefore, I have no choice but to ask for your understanding and see if you agree that we postpone our project for 2 weeks. After the exam, I will spare no effort in arranging our project. Not only will you be treated to the charm of the Chinese language, but the brilliant culture that you’ve always been fascinated with will get you immersed. You have my word.
