The UNICEF(the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) report estimates that around one-third of the world's youth -- most in developing countries -- are not online. For example, in Africa, only 40 percent of children are online. In Europe, by contrast, 88 percent are.
UNICEF reports that one in three internet users around the world are children. Even though so many children are online, the organization says little is known about the effect of digital technology on child's well-being.
More importantly, the report finds that little is being done to protect children from the dangers of the digital world.For example, many children around the world have a digital footprint before they can actually walk and make real footprints. Parents often post photos of their children and share stories about them. And a child’s medical records may be stored in the cloud.
As children grow, they may share additional details about themselves or photos and videos of themselves. But making all this personal information public may put a child at wrence Chandy,director of Data Research and Policy for UNICEF,explains that these risks include the misuse of children's private information, access to harmful content and cyber-bullying(网络欺凌).
Besides, cyber-bullying, Lawrence Chandy says children are also at risk from online criminal networks. These criminals target children for some of the worst forms of exploitation and abuse,He says safeguarding children's privacy on the internet is an issue of major concern.
"We really emphasize the importance of putting in place safeguards to prevent children's personal data from falling in the wrong peoples' hands and protecting their identities. This is an issue which is only going to grow in importance."
Parents, caregivers, teachers and school administrators, businesses and policymakers need to work together to ensure safe access and protect children from the possible harm of a growing digital world.

If you don’t want your damp bat hroom to be perfect for microorganisms(微生物),you can just open the window and let some fresh air in.Not so easy on a space station though, as astro-biologist Petra Schwendner of the University of Edinburgh explains.
It has been seen on the international spa ce station that these microorganisms can accumulate.I’ve seen pictures where you could see this corrosion(腐蚀) caused by bacteria or basically an accumulation of fungus(真菌)behind wet towels.
So as we set our sights on Mars,what might grow in the spacecraft dish during the year and a-half-long flight? The Mars 500 habitat in Moscow simulated(模拟) that trip, with six crew members inside.And Schwendner and her team tested microorganism samples of the habitat over time.They found what you might expect: a lot of human-related bacteria and fungi(真菌),mostly at levels considered safe life in space. But they also noticed a decline in microorganism diversity over time which could indicate a less-than-healthy microorganism community that’s potentially more likely to be t aken over by hostile(敌意的)bacteria.
The study says that seeing this decrease basically is for us an important point or proof that continuous monitoring is an important fact and is really required to basically maintain or be able to maintain a healthy
environment.
When we do rocket to the Red Planet,it’ll be impossible to keep our spacecraft completely clean without bacteria.Because humans are leaky animals.The real question might be how we’ll keep our many microorganisms from starting to live in Mars.
