阅读是我们学习语言技能的便利渠道，而培养良好的阅读习惯是获得最佳阅读效果的前提条件。英语学得好的人，一般都有相当大的阅读量，也就是说只有读得比较多的人，才能真正学好英语。在英语教学中，学生的阅读习惯往往很差，有的小声朗读或在心里默读；有的用手指着单词一字一字，一行一行地读。这些阅读习惯既减慢了阅读的速度，又使学生不能准确地理解全文而只停留在某个单词，短语或句子上，使学生所获得的信息支离破碎，最终导致理解上的偏差，所以这些都是阅读英语不好的习惯。要使学生的英语阅读有所提高，就要培养学生良好的英语阅读习惯。首先要考虑学生自身的喜好和素质，帮助学生选材。其次，在阅读的过程中要给小学生一定的提示，文章的长短要把握适当。再次，在阅读的过程中要让学生了解“猜”的重要性及如何去猜词。最后，要让学生明白，英语阅读也有不同的种类，大量的阅读是必须的。在各种语言场景中，个人的语言掌控和运用能力的提高离不开大量的阅读积累，而个人综合素质的提高更是需要丰富的阅读实践和广泛的阅读范围。此外，阅读应该和语言其他方面的学习结合起来，从而达到在阅读中进行学习的目的。

对六年级的学生来说，作文的要求提高了很多。由于写作

的难度加大，语法类的东西增加，学生出错的几率也会增加，如：动词第三人称单数要加“s”，动词现在进行时要加“ing”等等，还有一些介词，固定搭配，固定短语，都是孩子们出错的主要问题。对小学生来讲，语法并不是重点，一切以看明白为主，所以这些都还不是写作的关键，而目前小学生写作中最令孩子们头疼的是“无话可说”。面对各种各样的话题，如何构思，从什么地方入手，应该是决定一篇文章好坏的基本因素。教师在教学中可以有意识地培养学生的写作思路。对于话题，基本上模仿语文作文的套路，按照“总—分—总”的结构去构思作文的格式，这样就先给了学生一个大体框架。学生可以根据话题，尽自己最大的可能去探讨和这个话题相关的内容，这种“放手”可以最大限度地让学生发挥自己的主观能动性，积极参与，团结合作。对于写作能力较差差的孩子来说，他不会觉得无事可做，也会努力地思考，当讨论结束时，可以把所有的东西汇总到一起，进行筛选和排序。这样学生对写作就没有了恐惧感，写作最终可以成为一件让他们无比快乐的事情。在小学阶段开展英文写作，如果方法不正确，急功近利，不根据小学生的实际英语水平来评价，最终会与教学目标相悖，甚至引起学生对英语写作的反感，只会适得其反。在教学中教授学生一定的思路和方法，让学生能够通过这种简单的方法有效地完成语言简练、内容浅显易懂，但思路条理清晰、语言准确的英语作文，就是学生最大的收获！
