2百名新检察官庄严宣誓
Today is China's first national Constitution Day. More than 180 newly appointed or promoted procurators took the oath at a ceremony aiming to swear loyalty to the Constitution, launched by the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) at 9 am. People's procurators must shore up more awareness of the Constitution, keep their faith and awe of the Constitution, practice the Constitution, and safeguard the unification, dignity and authority of the rule of law, said Cao Jianming, head of the SPP, at the ceremony, which was held in the procuratorate for the first time. 今天(12月4日)是我国首个国家宪法日。

上午9点，最高人民检察院举行宪法宣誓仪式，180多名新任和新晋升人民检察官面对宪法庄严宣誓。

最高人民检察院检察长曹建明在宣誓仪式上强调，人民检察官要增强宪法意识，始终保持对宪法的信仰和敬畏；履行宪法使命；维护国家法制统一、尊严和权威。

据悉，这是最高检机关首次举行检察官集体宪法宣誓仪式。

沪指大涨创43个月新高
Chinese stocks rose for the third consecutive day to a new high in 43 months, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index reaching 2899.46 points, or gaining 4.31% at close on Thursday. 55 A-shares, including 17 from securities companies, have hit the daily-rise ceiling. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 4% and returned to above 10,000 after 21 months. The total transaction volume in the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets has reached more than RMB880b.
上证综指4日收盘报2899.46点，上涨4.31%。

股票市场已连续3天上涨，创43个月新高。

包括17只券商股在内的55只A股涨停。

深证成指上涨4%，21个月后重返10000点以上。

沪深两市总成交量逾8800亿元人民币。

今年出境游人数首破1亿
The number of outbound tourist departures from the Chinese mainland has exceeded 100m in a calendar year for the first time, the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) has announced. The number of departures has been growing steadily for years, boosted by simplified visa application procedures and tailored travel services. "It is a landmark for the development of China's tourism industry," said CNTA official Zhang Jilin. "In 1998, we had only 8,430,000 outbound tourists, and now we have surpassed 100m." The destinations that attracted more than 1m Chinese mainland tourists each this year are South Korea, Thailand, Japan, the US, Vietnam and Singapore.
国家旅游局日前宣布，中国内地当年出境游首次突破1亿人次。

在简化的签证申请程序和定制旅游服务的推动下，近年来出境游数量一直在稳步上升。

国家旅游局官员张吉林称，1998年，我们的出境游客仅有843万，现在已突破1亿，这是中国旅游业发展的一个里程碑。

据悉，每年吸引我国内地超百万游客的目的地有韩国、泰国、日本、美国、越南和新加坡。

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on Wednesday said in the provisional report on the Status of Global Climate in 2014 that the year 2014 will likely be the hottest on record, mainly due to record high global sea surface temperatures driven by the increasing greenhouse gas concentrations. Based on the report, WMO indicated that the global average air temperature over land and sea surfaces from January to October this year was about 0.57℃above the average for the 1961-1990 reference period, and 0.09℃above the average for the past decade. WMO said if November and December maintain the same tendency, then 2014 will likely be the hottest on record, ahead of 2010, 2005 and 1998.
世界气象组织3日发布2014年《世界气候状况初步报告》称，2014年将可能成为有记录以来最热的年份。

这主要是由于不断增加的温室气体浓度造成了全球海平面温度创历史新高。

根据这份报告，世界气象组织指出，今年1-10月，全球陆地和海洋表面平均气温比参考期1961-1990年间的平均值高0.57℃左右，比过去10年的平均值高0.09℃。

如果11月和12月保持同样的趋势，2014年或将超过2010、2005、1998年，成为有记录以来最热的年份。

China's Ding Junhui will become the first ever Asian world No 1 when snooker's world rankings are revised at the end of the 2014 UK Championship. Ding suffered a shock 6-5 defeat against James Cahill in the last 32 in York on Tuesday night, but has still done enough to take over from Mark Selby at the top of the list. Ding will also become the 11th world No 1 in snooker history. 2014年斯诺克英锦赛结束时，斯诺克世界排名将会重新洗牌，中国的丁俊晖将成为斯诺克有史以来第一位来自亚洲的"世界第一"。

2日晚在约克举行的32强比赛中，丁俊晖5比6爆冷不敌卡希尔，但他的表现依然足以从塞尔比手中接过世界第一的殊荣。

A simple exercise of sitting down and standing up again without holding onto anything, could suggest how long you have to live. This is the belief of a group of Brazilian physicians, who came up with the "sitting-rising test" to measure their patients' flexibility and strength. One point was removed for a hand on knee or thigh that was used to help them rise. A further 0.5 points were subtracted from people who seemed wobbly when they stood. They developed a scoring system for the test and found that people who scored 3 points or less out of 10, were more than 5 times as likely to die within 6 years, as those who scored more than 8 points.

Thousands of parents are naming their babies after British drama "Downton Abbey" characters, new figures have revealed. Violet, the first name of the Dowager Countess of Grantham, made the top 100 girls' names for 2013. And highest of all was Elsie, the Christian name of housekeeper Mrs Hughes. Nearly 1,200 babies took the name last year compared to 535 in 2010. Cora, the warm-hearted Countess of Grantham, and Sybil, her pretty and modest daughter, are among the names that have rocketed.
