莎士比亚罗密欧与朱丽叶英语作文

莎士比亚罗密欧与朱丽叶英语作文

莎士比亚罗密欧与朱丽叶英语作文Romeo and Juliet by William ShakespeareRomeo and Juliet is a really famous play written by William Shakespeare a long time ago. It's a tragic love story about two young people from feuding families in Verona, Italy. I'll tell you all about the exciting story and the important lessons we can learn from it!The play starts off with the Montagues and the Capulets, who are two wealthy families that really hate each other for some reason that's not fully explained. There's a lot of fighting and tension between the families and their servants in the streets of Verona.Romeo Montague is the only son of the Montague family. He's a nice, sensitive guy who is kind of a romantic sad boy. Romeo falls in love with a girl named Rosaline, but she doesn't love him back which makes him really depressed. At the Capulet house, Juliet's dad Lord Capulet is throwing a huge party. Romeo and his friends, who are all teenagers like him, decide to sneak into the party even though they're Montagues and enemies of the Capulets. At the party, Romeo sees Juliet for the first time and instantly falls head over heels in love with her!He even says, "Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night."Romeo finds out who Juliet is and is heartbroken because they're from the two feuding families. But Juliet feels the exact same way about Romeo! When they're alone in the Capulet's beautiful garden, Romeo overhears Juliet saying she loves him in a famous speech that starts "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?"So even though their families hate each other, Romeo and Juliet get married in secret with the help of Friar Laurence. Their friend groups don't know about the marriage though, and Romeo gets in a fight with Juliet's cousin Tybalt. Tybalt ends up dying, and Romeo gets banished from Verona for killing him.Juliet's parents then tell her she has to marry Count Paris, because they don't know she's already married to Romeo. Juliet is so upset that she goes to Friar Laurence for help. He gives her a potion that will make her appear dead, so she can avoid marrying Paris. The plan is for Romeo to come rescue her from the tomb, and then they can run away together once she wakes up from her death-like sleep. But, there's a huge miscommunication and Romeo doesn't get told the plan! He thinks Juliet is actually dead, and goes toher tomb. He sees her "dead" body and is absolutely heartbroken. He says "Here's to my love!" and drinks poison to kill himself so he can be with Juliet forever.Juliet then wakes up from the sleeping potion to find Romeo dead beside her. She's devastated and says "O happy dagger, this is thy sheath, there rust and let me die!" She stabs herself with a dagger and dies next to the body of her one true love Romeo.Their parents finally learn that Romeo and Juliet were actually husband and wife. The two feuding families make peace with each other after all the tragedy caused by their senseless grudge against one another.I think there are a few big lessons we can learn from Romeo and Juliet:Don't hold stupid grudges and feuds with people, especially over things that happened a long time ago. The feud between the families led to so much violence and death that could have been avoided if they just made peace.Don't make rushed, impulsive decisions out of passion or desperation. Both Romeo and Juliet made impulsive choices thatended in disaster because they didn't think through all the consequences. Slow down and think things through!Communication is super important. If Romeo and Juliet had communicated better with the people helping them, and been on the same page about the plan, the ending could have been so different.Don't meet someone and instantly get married to them the next day like Romeo and Juliet did! That's a recipe for disaster, especially with disapproving parents involved. Slow down and really get to know someone first. So in conclusion, while the story of the "star-crossed lovers" Romeo and Juliet is very romantic, passionate and exciting, there are a lot of lessons we can learn about the consequences of poor decisions and miscommunication. Feuds, rushing into things, and not listening to others all led to tragedy. Hopefully Romeo and Juliet's mistakes can provide wisdom for the rest of us!。

莎士比亚罗密欧与朱丽叶英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Romeo and Juliet - A Tragic Love StoryHi there! My name is Emma and I'm going to tell you about this really sad but beautiful play called Romeo and Juliet. It was written a long long time ago by a super famous writer named William Shakespeare.Romeo and Juliet is a love story, but not like the happy ones with princes and princesses living happily ever after. No, this one is way more tragic and heartbreaking. It's about two young people who fall deeply in love, but their families hate each other so much that the love ends in tragedy. The play takes place in a city called Verona in Italy. There are two powerful families, the Montagues and the Capulets, who have been feuding for years and years over something nobody even remembers anymore. It's just blind hatred at this point!Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. At the start of the play, Romeo is madly in love with some other girl namedRosaline. But then at a party at the Capulet's house, Romeo sees Juliet for the first time and it's love at first sight! He forgets all about Rosaline. Juliet feels the same powerful connection. With the help of Juliet's nurse, the two lovers meet privately in Juliet's garden and declare their love for each other. It's sooo romantic! Romeo says stuff like "My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite." Swoon! They decide to get married in secret since their families would never allow it. A kind friar named Friar Lawrence marries them, hoping it will end the feud between their families. But that doesn't happen...After their secret marriage night, Romeo gets into a fight with Juliet's cousin Tybalt. Tybalt hates the Montagues and wants to kill Romeo. Romeo doesn't want to fight since he's now secretly part of the Capulet family, but Tybalt fatally stabs his friend Mercutio. Enraged, Romeo then kills Tybalt in revenge. As punishment, Romeo is banished from Verona. This separates the young lovers as Romeo has to flee. Poor Juliet is distraught. Then Juliet's parents, not knowing she's married, try to force her to marry this other rich guy named Paris.Friar Lawrence comes up with a crazy plan to reunite Romeo and Juliet. He gives Juliet a potion that will make her appear dead so she can escape to Romeo. But there's a huge misunderstanding and Romeo thinks Juliet is actually dead.Heartbroken, Romeo buys some deadly poison so he can kill himself and be reunited with his love in death at least. He goes to Juliet's tomb and drinks the poison as Juliet awakes from her fake death potion. Juliet is horrified to find her new husband dead beside her. With his last breaths, Romeo tells Juliet he drank poison and then dies in her arms. With nothing left to live for, the grieving Juliet then stabs herself with Romeo's dagger and dies alongside him. It's all just so, so sad! Their families finally realize how destructive their hatred was and vow to end the feud.I cried so much when I read this! Even though Romeo and Juliet were in love, their families' stupid fighting kept them apart and led to their double suicide at the end. If only the Montagues and Capulets hadn't been so stubborn, the two young lovers could have been together and lived happily ever after. It's a powerful lesson about how hatred and grudges can destroy lives. While the story is very tragic, Shakespeare's beautiful poetic writing makes it an incredible masterpiece that has captivatedaudiences for over 400 years. There are so many famous lines like "A plague on both your houses!" and "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" That second one is Juliet basically asking why Romeo has to be a Montague. So in the end, Romeo and Juliet's deaths aren't entirely pointless because their families finally wake up and stop their ridiculous conflict. But man, it's still a total tear-jerker of a story with everyone you care about dying! I don't think I'll be able to listen to songs about love without thinking of Romeo and Juliet for a long time. It's just that powerful of a story.I hope you'll read or watch Romeo and Juliet someday when you're a little older. Just be sure to have some tissues handy! It's a classic tragic love story that really makes you think about how destructive hatred and vengeance can be. Whether it's families, friends, or countries feuding, the message of Romeo and Juliet shows how senseless conflict only breeds more pain. Maybe the world would be a little better if we all tried a little harder to love instead of hate. What do you think? Let me know after you experience this legendary story for yourself!篇2Romeo and Juliet by William ShakespeareRomeo and Juliet is a really famous play written by William Shakespeare a long time ago. It's a tragic love story about two young people from enemy families who fall in love but face many challenges. Let me tell you all about it!The play takes place in the city of Verona in Italy. There are two wealthy families, the Montagues and the Capulets, who have hated each other for a really long time. Nobody can even remember why they started feuding, but they keep fighting in the streets with swords and insults. The prince of Verona warns both families that if they keep causing trouble with public brawls, he will punish them severely. But the families don't listen and the fights continue.Romeo Montague is a handsome young man who falls in love very easily. His friend Benvolio tells him he needs to forget about his latest crush Rosaline. To help Romeo get over this girl, they decide to go to a big party at the Capulet house in disguise. That's where Romeo first lays eyes on Juliet Capulet and falls madly in love with her at first sight!Juliet is only 13 years old but is already considered a woman ready for marriage in those times. She's never been in love before but is instantly smitten with the charming Romeo. They share a romantic dance and kiss at the party, not knowing theyare sworn enemies. When they realize their families hate each other, they are devastated but decide their love is too strong to stop seeing each other in secret. With the help of Juliet's wise nurse and a kind friar named Friar Lawrence, the young couple gets married in secret the very next day, hoping their union will finally end the feud between their families. But Romeo gets into a fight and kills Juliet's cousin Tybalt, leading to his banishment from Verona. To be together, Juliet hatches a risky plan with the friar's help. She takes a potion that will make her appear dead, so she can be laid in the Capulet tomb. The friar will send word to Romeo to come rescue Juliet from the tomb and they can run away and live happily ever after. But the message never reaches Romeo, who is devastated to think Juliet has died.Romeo returns to the tomb to be with his love in death, not knowing Juliet is just sleeping. He drinks poison to kill himself, just as Juliet wakes up to find Romeo dead beside her. Heartbroken, she stabs herself to be reunited in heaven. When the families realize the tragic consequences of their hatred, they finally end their feud, but it's too late for the "star-crossed lovers."I really love this play even though it's so sad! The language Shakespeare uses is absolutely beautiful, with amazing poetry and metaphors describing love. My favorite part is the famous balcony scene where Romeo and Juliet proclaim their love for each other under the stars. It's just so romantic!I think one of the big lessons of Romeo and Juliet is about how hatred and violence breeds more hatred and violence. If only the Montagues and Capulets could have made peace earlier, so much suffering could have been avoided. It shows the pointlessness of ancient grudges and how easy it is for things to spiral out of control. But most of all, Romeo and Juliet is a timeless celebration of the power of true love to overcome obstacles and defy conventions. Even though they were just kids, the depth of Romeo and Juliet's passion for each other moves me every time. Their willingness to sacrifice everything to be together is both romantic and tragic.I highly recommend reading or watching this classic play! It will make you laugh, cry and see the world through new eyes. Romeo and Juliet proves that while love can cause a lot of pain, it's always worth fighting for against all odds. After all, as Julietsays, "My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have." Beautiful!篇3Romeo and Juliet by William ShakespeareShakespeare was a famous writer who lived a long time ago in England. He wrote a bunch of really cool plays that are still really popular today. One of his most famous plays is called Romeo and Juliet. It's a love story, but also a tragedy, which means it's really sad at the end.The play takes place in a city called Verona in Italy. There were two powerful families who lived there named the Montagues and the Capulets. They were enemies and were always fighting with each other. Nobody even remembers why they started hating each other in the first place! The main characters are Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet, which means they were supposed to be enemies. But of course, they fall in love instead! That's what makes the story so romantic and sad at the same time.In the beginning, Romeo is all mopey because he has a crush on this other girl named Rosaline. But then he goes to a party at the Capulet's house and sees Juliet for the first time. He instantly falls head over heels for her. When Juliet finds out Romeo is a Montague, she gets scared at first. But they can't fight their feelings for each other. After the party, Romeo sneaks into the Capulet's garden to find Juliet. That's where they share their first kiss and confess their love. It's one of the most famous scenes in the play. Juliet says something like "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." She means that it doesn't matter that Romeo is a Montague, she still loves him. They decide to get married in secret with the help of a friend named Friar Lawrence. He's a nice friar who tries to help Romeo and Juliet. At the wedding, Romeo says Juliet is as beautiful as an angel. I bet she looked like a princess in her fancy dress! But right after they get married, there's a huge fight between the families again. Romeo's friend Mercutio gets killed by Juliet's cousin Tybalt. Romeo gets so mad that he kills Tybalt to get revenge. As punishment, the prince banishes Romeo from Verona. Romeo and Juliet only get one night together as a married couple before he has to leave. This is where the story starts to get super tragic and sad. Juliet's parents decide she has to marry this other guy named Paris. Juliet doesn't want to, so she comes up with a plan with Friar Lawrence. He gives her a potion that will make her appear dead for two days. That way she can avoid marrying Paris. The plan is that Romeo will come rescue Juliet from the tomb after she wakes up. But there's a big miscommunication and Romeo doesn't find out about the plan. He thinks Juliet is actually dead for real. Romeo is so heartbroken that he kills himself by drinking poison next to Juliet's body. Then Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo is dead for real. She's so sad that she stabs herself with a dagger instead of living without him. In the final scene, both their families realize how stupid their feud was after their kids died for love. They finally make peace, but it's way too late.I cried so much at the end! Even though Romeo and Juliet's story is over 400 years old, it's still one of the most famous love stories ever. It just shows how powerful love can be, but also how terrible hate and fighting is. If only the Montagues and Capulets weren't such meanies to each other, maybe Romeo and Juliet could have lived happily ever after.Overall, Romeo and Juliet is an awesome play that teaches some really important lessons. I think every kid and grownup should read or watch it. Shakespeare was a genius for writing such an amazing, emotional story that people still love after all these centuries. I wish I could go back in time and tell him how much I loved his play!篇4Romeo and Juliet by William ShakespeareHave you ever heard of the play Romeo and Juliet? It's a really famous story written a long time ago by a guy named William Shakespeare. It's a tragic love story about two young people from enemy families who fall in love but can't be together because of the feud between their families.Let me tell you all about it! The story takes place in this city called Verona in Italy. There are two powerful families, the Montagues and the Capulets, who hate each other for some reason that isn't really explained. We don't know why they are feuding, but they are and it's a big problem.Romeo Montague is the main character. He's a teenager and he's kind of moody and dramatic, as teenagers can be. At the start of the play, he's all depressed because he loves this girlnamed Rosaline who doesn't love him back. His friends feel bad for him and want to cheer him up.Meanwhile, the Capulet family is having this big fancy party and Romeo and his friends decide to crash it by wearing masks so the Capulets won't recognize them as Montagues. While at the party, Romeo sees the most beautiful girl he's ever laid eyes on - Juliet Capulet. He instantly falls head over heels in love with her!Juliet feels the same way about Romeo, even though she has no idea he's a Montague, the enemy of her family. They meet, fall madly in love at first sight, and even kiss - which was a huge deal back then! After the party, Romeo sneaks into the Capulet gardens and he and Juliet have this romantic exchange where they declare their love for each other. It's all very sweet and poetic. But soon they realize the huge problem - their families hate each other and would never allow them to be together. They decide to get married in secret with the help of a friend named Friar Laurence. He marries them, hoping it will end the feud between their families.Meanwhile, some fighting breaks out between some Montague and Capulet guys and one of Juliet's cousins ends updying. As punishment, Romeo is banished from Verona. Juliet is devastated but Friar Laurence comes up with a plan. He gives Juliet a potion that will make her appear dead so she can be hidden away until Romeo can come rescue her and take her away to get married for real. But - uh oh! - there's a huge miscommunication and Romeo doesn't get told the plan. He thinks Juliet is really dead and is heartbroken. He goes to her tomb, drinks poison, and dies by her side out of grief. Juliet then wakes up, sees Romeo is dead, and kills herself with his dagger out of total sadness. In the end, it's such a tragic, sad ending that makes the feuding families finally realize how stupid and pointless their feud was, now that their children are dead because of it. The families make peace, but at a terrible cost.Isn't that the saddest story ever? I cried when I first heard it! Romeo and Juliet's love was so pure and true, but fate and the stupid feud between their families just wouldn't allow them to be together. They were star-crossed lovers whose families were keeping them apart.I think the moral of the story is that holding grudges and feuding is just really dumb and can lead to terrible consequences like the deaths of these two young people. Hatred only breedsmore hatred. If the families had just made peace earlier, Romeo and Juliet could have lived happily ever after together.Romeo and Juliet is considered one of the greatest love stories and tragedies of all time. Sure, it has some pretty mature themes like suicide, but I think the core story of two young people in love but kept apart by their families' feud is something even kids can understand and appreciate. The language Shakespeare uses is beautiful and poetic, even if it sounds a little funny and outdated to modern ears.Anyway, that's the basic gist of Romeo and Juliet! It's a classic tale that has been retold and adapted so many times over the centuries in movies, ballets, and even musicals. I hope I did a decent job summarizing the key plot points for you! Let me know if you have any other questions.篇5Romeo and Juliet: A Tragic Love StoryHey there! Have you ever heard of the play Romeo and Juliet? It's a really famous and sad story written by a super talented writer named William Shakespeare a long time ago.Romeo and Juliet were two young people who fell deeply in love with each other. The only problem was that their families, the Montagues and the Capulets, absolutely hated each other! Their families had been fighting and arguing for so many years that no one could even remember why they were enemies in the first place.Romeo was a Montague, and Juliet was a Capulet. When they first met at a party at Juliet's house, they didn't know that the other was from the rival family. They just knew that they felt an instant spark and were totally smitten with each other! After the party, Romeo secretly went into the Capulet's garden to see Juliet again. They talked through her bedroom window and realized how much they loved one another. Even though their families would never allow them to be together, they decided to get married in secret with the help of a kind friar named Friar Lawrence. For a little while, Romeo and Juliet were able to sneak around and be husband and wife without anyone knowing. But then a huge fight broke out between the Montagues and Capulets, and Romeo got banished from the city for killing one of Juliet's cousins. Oh no!Friar Lawrence came up with a plan for Juliet to fake her own death so she could run away and be with Romeo. But there was a big mix-up with the message, and Romeo didn't find out the plan. Instead, he thought Juliet was really dead! Romeo was so heartbroken that he decided to kill himself by drinking poison so he could be with Juliet in the afterlife. When Juliet woke up and saw that Romeo had died, she was absolutely devastated. In her great grief, she also killed herself with Romeo's dagger. It was such a tragic ending for the two young lovers! In the end, their deaths finally made the Montagues and Capulets realize how silly and destructive their long feud had been. The families decided to make peace with each other, but it was way too late for Romeo and Juliet.Their story teaches us that hatred and holding onto grudges can lead to really sad consequences. If only the families had let go of their anger sooner, maybe Romeo and Juliet could have lived happily ever after together. Love is more powerful than hate!Even though Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy, it's such a beautiful story of true love that has been adored by millions of people for hundreds of years. I hope you get a chance to read orsee a performance of the play someday so you can experience the magic of Shakespeare's incredible storytelling. Thanks for reading my essay - let me know if you have any other questions!篇6Romeo and Juliet by William ShakespeareI just read this really cool play by William Shakespeare called Romeo and Juliet. It's a love story but also really sad and tragic. I'll tell you all about it!There are two families in the city of Verona in Italy that really, really hate each other. Like they've been feuding and fighting for a super long time. One family is the Montagues and the other is the Capulets. The play starts with some fights breaking out between servants from the two families on the streets of Verona. This gets the Prince of Verona really mad and he says if there's any more violence, the people causing it will be put to death! Yikes!Anyway, Romeo is a Montague and he's a really romantic guy. He's in love with this girl named Rosaline but she doesn't love him back. His cousin Benvolio tells him he should just forgetabout her because there are plenty of other pretty girls out there in Verona. So Romeo and Benvolio end up sneaking into a Capulet party because Romeo wants to see Rosaline who will be there. At the party, Romeo sees Juliet, who is a Capulet, and falls in love with her at first sight! He doesn't even care about Rosaline anymore. Juliet feels the same way about Romeo when she meets him. They talk together at the party and when they find out they're from the two feuding families, they're really sad. But they decide their love is more important than the feud between their families. They get secretly married the very next day with the help of Friar Laurence. But then there's a fight between the Capulets and Montagues and Romeo's best friend Mercutio gets killed. Romeo gets so angry and kills Juliet's cousin Tybalt. As punishment, the Prince banishes Romeo from Verona.Juliet is devastated that Romeo has been banished. Her parents then tell her she has to marry this other guy named Paris, but she doesn't want to. Friar Laurence comes up with a plan for Juliet to take a potion that will make her seem dead for 42 hours. That way she can avoid marrying Paris and when Romeo is toldshe's "dead", he can come back and they can run away together after she wakes up.The plan goes wrong though. Romeo doesn't get told that Juliet isn't really dead, he just thinks she actually died. He goes to her tomb, says a very sad goodbye, and then kills himself by drinking poison so he can be with her in death. Then Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo has killed himself. She's so upset that she uses his dagger to stab herself and kill herself so she can be with him forever in death. The two feuding families finally end their feud when they see their kids Romeo and Juliet have killed themselves because their families wouldn't let them be together. It's such a tragic ending!I thought the play was really romantic but also very sad. Romeo and Juliet loved each other so much but their families' hatred for each other is what led to their deaths in the end. I felt really bad for them.Shakespeare is a great writer and I liked reading his beautiful poetic language, even though some of the old English words were kind of hard to understand sometimes. But overall it was an amazing play and I can see why it's considered one of the greatest love stories ever written!。

罗密欧与朱丽叶英文版

First sceneFriar came to the centre of the stageFriar: (quite solemn)Attention please, I am friar. There are two clans in our region, one is “Montague” (Then Montague comes back from the left side of the stage, holding up a signboard to show his identity—Montague), the other is “Capulet”(Capulet emerges from the right side, with similar actions)Friar:However, the two clans are in constant conflicts, even to the degree of fighting with each other upon encountering with the other side.(the moment when each of their eyes falls on their counterparts, they throw away their signboard, pull hammer from their back, gallop towards the other side and then fight with each other. Then other performers stand in line with their mouths mantled by hands, so much surprised as to fall down backwards).Friar: (dodge himself from the fights)Their feud has greatly influenced the social order of our city, so I have to come up with a solution, stimulated by a ball held by the Capulet (Lights become faint, lower the curtain)The second scene(perform the Spring Song, and the light becomes strong and Juliet as well as other girls is laughing elegantly)Romeo:My god! What a fairy happens to fall on the earth! I am greatly stirred up by her! Perhaps I need to pick up my courage to invite her to dance with me.( He approaches Juliet, inviting her with left hand, graciously. And Juliet accepts it readily. At once, the music changes to Lawdy,Miss Clawdy and then, they start to dance.(the music dies down)Romeo:Perhaps my frivolity means blasphemy to you, while for me, you are the shrine, I want to make acquaintance with you, in reverent awe, but I am afraid of spoiling you.Juliet:Enough, that’s enough, nonsense, you are Romeo?Romeo: (showing great surprise)How do you know it?Juliet: (taking out Shakespeare Complete Works)Look! Shakespeare tells me.Romeo:My god!( falling down)Juliet:You are ill-informed, (patting him), you must be in love with me?Romeo: (restoring himself gradually)En? ….year….how do you know it?Juliet:(Arrogantly) because….I am extraordinarily beautiful!( swiveling with her dress lifted) and besides, I am rich!( taking out a limp of money and then throwing it to the sky)Romeo:(Excitedly) yes! That is it!(Juliet brother says something in a strong Shanbei accent: Juliet, why not buy the steamed bread as your mother has told you?)Juliet: (in a Shanghai dialect) o, got it! (leaves the stage)(then follows Romeo, reluctantly)(here comes a piece of music from rainbow “I have you in my world from now on….”) (friar comes to the stage)Friar: The two young fellows fall in love with each other after this transient yet beautiful moments, they all take their hearts to the other side in spite of themselves. That evening, Juliet confides secrets in heart to the stars at the balcony (then the music dies down)Juliet: (she stands in the balcony with her hands interlaced before her breast, looking up at the moon as if praying for something)Romeo, oh, my Romeo! Why should you be one of the Montague? Forget your surname, come to my embrace! I will, for your sake, forget my surname as well.Romeo: (climbing over the fence and coming to the balcony stealthily, feeling rather excited) yearh, how lucky I am, Juliet!Juliet:(Interrupt) are you Romeo? Why do you come here so late? I waste my time expressing my sentiments here!Romeo:(surprised) yes? How do you know that I will come?Juliet:(again taking out the Shakespeare Complete Works)you should forget it! I have already told you that I had read this book!( Romeo intends to climb up to the balcony, but falls down upon hearing these)Juliet: (sticking out her head to search for Romeo)Oh, he has fallen down? Hey, how are things with you? (coming out from the balcony) hey, aren’t you in a coma? (showing a sprinkling of impatience, and then kicks him, yells out) hey, are you alive? The third scene(Friar on)Friar: for these, they are in deep love, but what ensues really….I feel rather bothered, we may as well…..(taking out a card, with words like these: stop, start, accelerate, retrogress, four keys for us press. Then on the other side of the stage appears a card, signifying accelerateLet’s accelerate our paces. Then Romeo and Juliet get married.(Romeo and Juliet stand back of the Friar with erect poises) ( Friar swivels to hold the ceremony)Friar:Are you willing to marry Juliet?Romeo:I will.Romeo:How about you?Friar:I will.Friar:Ok! Enough! (then Romeo and Juliet come down the stage) (Friarcontinued to face the audience)Friar: Romeo’s friend come across Juliet’s cousin in the street(the moment Romeo’s friend and Juliet’s cousin encounter, they fight with each other ferociously, in an exaggerated way)Friar: the result is that Juliet’s cousin kills Romeo’s friend, (then Romeo’s friend falls down) unfortunately the scene is witnessed by Romeo( Romeo comes up, shocked to see this, then becomes conscious and rushes towards Juliet’s cousin). Overwhelmed by his indignation, he kills Juliet’s cousin.( Juliet’s cousin falls down) then the court declares that Romeo is expelled from the city. (judges whistle to show red card, Romeo roars: shit!) at the very moment, a man called Paris proposes a marriage to Juliet….(Paris trots to the stage)Paris:Oh, my Juliet! I love you so much, please marry me!(he kisses her hand but Juliet quickly pulls her hands and wipe the saliva from her hand, though at the risk of smearing her clothes) (Juliet’s father appears)Juliet’s father:Hey, how hand some, where do you come from?Paris:I come from Beijing!Juliet’s father: (jubilantly)Beijing? The 2008th Beijing Olympics? Oh, my god! Why do you hesitate? Marry him!Friar:Though Juliet was unwilling to marry the young fellow, she has to obey it since her father had accepted the marriage readily. (as if someone has done her wrong, she thrusts fingers to her mouth)She was narrowed to come to me for help, (Juliet runs to Friar enquire earnestly) I have no choice but to give her the vial. She will fall asleep for 24 hours after taking this medicine, ( she takes the medicine, then becomes dizzy, apt to fall, upon seeing this, Paris and Juliet’s father want to save her from falling hastily) all the people take for granted that she is dead since she has no throb, no breath in the 24 hours.(Paris tests her breath and shows his desperation to her father, while Juliet’s father tries to hear her throb, in vain, nothing. They hug each other and wail for a time. Her family place her in the church and plan to bury her the day after tomorrow.(Paris and Juliet take her corpse to the desk) during the time, I will spare no effort to inform Romeo to come within 24 hours. At that time you can have good time.( taking out a letter to someone)But as a saying goes, plans always lag behind changes. Before receiving my letter, he has heard the grievous news, which is too much for him. Thetrauma is so great as that he has lost confidence to live in the world. Alas, the pain is beyond description!(then performs Man, don’t feel guilty for crying,Romeo hides his face with hands, as if to wail at the right side of the stage)Romeo: (removes her hands)I will go with her at any cost, I will accompany her to death! Quick! (he pretends to ride the horse and at last to her side)Friar:In this dark and lonesome evening, Romeo comes to Juliet’s side with a downcast heart.Romeo:My sweethearts, you are so beautiful even being dead, how I, a feeble and sensitive man, am not preoccupied with you?(Paris on, sees Romeo)Paris:Who are you? No touch on my fianceé!Romeo :Who are you then ? she is my wife !Paris :Oh, I remember it ! you are the expelled Romeo ! you have better go away, otherwise....(friar rushes forward, stabbing Paris to death) Romeo:Oh, friar, you!.....Friar:You don’t need to thank me, I just get rid of the pest.(swivels to Paris) you yourself asks for it, actually it is none of your business.(turns to Romeo, gently and softly) are you rather mournful right now?Romeo:Friar, it is beyond to my limit to express my sorrow….Friar:Something flashes into my mind: I would rather die than suffer the tormentRomeo:Yeah, that’s it!Friar:(pass the knife to Romeo)Why hesitate? Hurry up!Romeo:Friar, farewell….(turns to Juliet) my dear, I will be together with you….(suddenly Juliet comes to her mind, whines)Romeo:My god! Friar, she, she awakes!Juliet:Romeo, is it you?Friar:(swivels to Romeo hurriedly) don’t worry, you need close your eyes.(turns to Juliet) Juliet, I have to tell you that you are awake too early, so you should continue to be in a coma.Juliet:Why?Friar:It is so easy that everyone knows itJuliet:Oh, I get it.Friar:So you awakes too early.Juliet:So how to make up for it?Friar:I have a good idea.Juliet:What?Friar:(a clenched fist falls on Juliet’s face, and then Juliet falls down)So troublesome! Romeo, everything is ok now.Romeo:(open his eyes, only to find that she is still unconscious)Friar, I’m sure of witnessing her revival, and besides, I exchange some words with her….andFriar: stop!It is your utter illusion, you have better end yourself.Romeo:But….friar:(stabbing to his body) that is really a trouble,(turns to the audience) my god, what did I do?!(stabbing again) my god, please forgive me, for god’s sake( sighing to the god) yes, I think you have forgiven me.(shakes Juliet readily) my Ju, I have done all the things, I need you to come to your mind.Juliet: ( after huffing for a moment, sees Romeo at last)Oh, my god, he should have died!Friar:My poor child, he is dead for sure though I don’t have the heart to see such a thing happensJuliet: (wails)Friar:Would you rather to die than live in endless torment?Juliet: (wail)Since you know it, why ask me!Friar: ( pulling the knife from Romeo, passing it to Juliet)Why to hesitate?Juliet: (taking the knife, rather inflicted)I will never desert you though the sky connects with the ground or not! (stabbing the knife to her body, falling down)Friar: ( returning to the center of the stage, rather mournful)Both Juliet and Romeo have died, that is the whole process. How tragic it is! It is the feud that leads to the tragedy. When they are aware of it….(Capulet and Montague appear from the side of the stage. Still they fight with each other upon seeing the other side, rather ferociously) Friar:Stop! Look at your children! They have to sacrifice themselves for your aimless fights. Do you have the heart to continue your feud upon seeing their deaths?(the moment they see their children’s corpses, they throw away their hammer and rush to their side with tears roll down their cheeks incessantly)(Stand up, wiping up tears, facing Montague)Now, we had better make up!(Montague nods and then hugs Capulet)Friar:Thanks to my wisdom, their feud comes to an end at last. The Montague build a statue for Juliet(Juliet stands up, poses with a “V”gesture), the Capulet build a statue for Romeo as well(coming to Juliet’s side with the same gesture). From now on, the whole city restores to its tranquility! I have fully completed my project!(the end)。
