Alongside the tote bags you can find T-shirts, magnets, and buttons printed or sewn with covers of classic novels; the Web site Etsy sells tights printed with poems by Emily Dickinson. A spread in The Paris Review featured literature-inspired paint-chip colors. The merchandising of reading has a curiously undifferentiated flavor, as if what you read mattered less than that you read. In this climate of embattled bibliophilia, a new subgenre of books about books has emerged, a mix of literary criticism, autobiography, self-help, and immersion journalism: authors undertake reading stunts to prove that reading—anything—still matters.“I thought of my adventure as Off-Road or Extreme Reading,”Phyllis Rose writes in “The Shelf: From LEQ to LES,”the latest stunt book, in which she reads through a more or less random shelf of library books. She compares her voyage, to Ernest Shackleton’s explorations in the Antarctic. “However, I like to sleep under a quilt with my head on a goose down pillow,”she writes. “So I would read my way into the unknown一into the pathless wastes, into thinair, with no reviews, no best-seller lists, no college curricula, no National Book Awards or Pulitzer Prizes, no ads, no publicity, not even word of mouth to guide me.”She is not the first writer to set off on armchair expedition. A. J. Jacobs, a self-described “human guinea pig,”spent a year reading the encyclopedia for “The Know-It-All: One Man’s Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World”(2004). Ammon Shea read all of the Oxford English Dictionary for his book “Reading the OED: One Man, One Year, 21, 730 Pages”(2008). In “The Whole Five Feet”(2010), Christopher Beha made his way through the Harvard Classics during a year in which he suffered serious illness and had a death in the family. In “Howard’s End Is on the Landing”(2010), Susan Hill limited herself to reading only the books that she already owned. Such “extreme reading”requires special personal traits: perseverance, stamina, a craving for self- improvement, and obstinacy.Rose fits the bill. A retired English professor, she is the author of popular biographies of Virginia Woolf and Josephine Baker, as well as “The Year of Reading Proust”(1997), a memoir of her family life and the manners and mores of the Key West literary scene. Her best book is “Parallel Lives”(1983), a group biography of five Victorian marriages. (It is filled with marvellous details and set pieces, like the one in which John Ruskin, reared on hairless sculptures of female nudes, defers consummating his marriage to Effie Gray for so long that she sues for divorce.) Rose is consistently generous, knowledgeable, and chatty, with a knock for connecting specific incidents to large social trends. Unlike many biblio-memoirists, she loves network television and is un-nostalgic about print; in “The Shelf’she says that she prefers her e-reader to certain moldy paperbacks. The way most of us choose our reading today is simple. Someone posts a link, and we click on it. We set out to buy one book, and Amazon suggests that we might like another. Friends and retailers know our preferences, and urge recommendations on us. The bookstore and the library could assist you, too—the people who work there may even know you and track your habits—but they are organized in an impersonal way. Shelves and open stacks offer not only immediate access to books but strange juxtapositions. Arbitrary classification breeds surprises—Nikolai Gogol next to William Golding, Clarice Lispector next to Penelope Lively. The alphabet has no rationale, agenda, or preference.20、What can be inferred from Paragraph 1 about the author’s opinion on reading?A、What really matters is the fact that you read.B、An emphasis should be placed on what you read.C、The merchandising of reading can boost book sales.D、Reading as a serious undertaking should not be merchandised.21、Why does Phyllis Rose compare her reading to Ernest Shackleton’s explorations in the Antarctic?A、To emphasize the adventurous and stirring experience of reading.B、To emphasize the role of reading in broadening people’s horizon.C、To emphasize the amusement in reading without specific guidance.D、To emphasize the challenges in reading books of varying categories.22、Which of the following is closest in meaning to underlined phrase “human guinea pig”in Paragraph 3?A、A person used in experiments.B、An uneducated person.C、A lazy person.D、A vulnerable person.23、Why is Rose considered a good instance to manifest “extreme reading”?A、People’s interest in reading needs to be inspired.B、Most people do not know what they should read.C、She knows how to relieve her mental suffering via reading.D、She has special personal traits needed for “extreme reading”.24、In what sense is the arbitrary classification of books considered to be impersonal?A、It brings about surprises.B、It fails to track readers’habits.C、It ignores the content of books.D、It fails to consider reader’s preferences.试题答案:[['D'],['C'],['A'],['D'],['A']]21、If you have got kids, here is a nasty truth: they are probably not very special, that is, they are average, ordinary, and unremarkable. Consider the numbers of those applications your daughter is sending to Ivy League schools, for instance. There are more than a quarter of a million other kids aiming for the same eight colleges at the same time, and less than 9% of them will make the cut. And those hours you spend coaching Little League because you just know your son’s sweet swing will take him to the professionals. There are 2.4 million other Little Leaguers out there, and there are exactly 750 openings for major league ballplayers at the beginning of each season. That gives him a 0.0313% chance of reaching the big clubs. The odds are just as long for the other dreams you’ve had for your kids: your child the billionaire, the Broadway star, the Rhodes scholar. Most of those things are never going to happen. The kids are paying the price for parents’delusions. In public schools, some students are bringing home 17.5 hours of homework per week or 3.5 per school night and it’s hard to see how they have time to do it. From 2004 to2014, the number of children participating in up to three hours of after-school activities on any given day rose from 6.5 million to 10.2 million. And all the while, the kids are being fed a promise—that they can be tutored and coached, pushed and tested, hot- housed and advance placed until success is assured. At last, a growing chorus of educators and psychologists is saying, “Enough!”Somewhere between the self-esteem building of going for the gold and the self esteem crushing of the Ivy-or-die ethos there has to be a place where kids can breathe, where they can have the freedom to do what they love and where parents accustomed to pushing their children to excel can shake off the newly defined shame of having raised an ordinary child. If the system is going to be fixed, it has to start, no surprise, with the parents. For them, the problem isn’t merely the expense of the tutors, the chore of the homework checking and the constant search for just the right summer program. It’s also the sweat equity that comes from agonizing over every exam, grieving over every disappointing grade—becoming less a guide in a child’s academic career than an intimate fellow traveler. The first step for parents is accepting that they have less control over their children’s education than they think they do—a reality that can be both sobering and liberating. You can sign your kids up for ballet camp or violin immersion all you want, but if they’re simply doing what they’re told instead of doing what they love, they’ll take it only so far.Ultimately, there’s a much larger national conversation that needs to be had about just what higher education means and when it’s needed at all. Four years of college has been sold as being a golden ticket in the American economy, and to an extent that’s true. But pushing all kids down the bachelor’s path ensures not only that some of them will lose their way but also that critical jobs that require a two-year or less—skilled trades, some kinds of nursing, computer technology, airline mechanics and more—will go unfilled. There will never be a case to be made for a culture of academic complacency or the demolition of the meritocracy. It can be fulfilling for kids to chase a ribbon, as long as it’s a ribbon the child really wants. And the very act of making that effort can bring out the best in anyone’s work. But we cheat ourselves, and worse, we cheat our kids, if we view life as a single straight-line race in which one one-hundredth of the competitors finish in the money and everyone else loses. We will all be better off if we recognize that there are a great many races of varying lengths and outcomes. The challenge for parents is to help their children find the one that’s right for them. Which of the following factors deprives the kids of freedom to do what they love?A、3.5 hours of school assignments set by their teachers every day.B、The educational reforms made by the public schools they attend.C、The growing number of peers taking part in off-campus activities.D、Their parents’unrealistic wish for them to have a promising future. What are parents supposed to do to alter the current educational system?A、To pay for their kids’education.B、To take up all the household chores.C、To provide guidance to their children.D、To push their children to excel at exams.According to the author, which of the following perceptions should parents adopt concerning their kids’education?A、They should be their kids’companions on their journey to academic excellence.B、They should realize the fact that most children would remain mediocre despite their wills.C、They should feel relieved if they don’t have to pay for their kid’s off-school art lessons.D、They should be their kids’career director rather than help them find a right path to walk on.What does the underlined word “one”in the last paragraph refer to?A、Race.B、Length.C、Challenge.D、Outcome.试题答案:[['D'],['C'],['B'],['A']]22、根据题目要求完成下列任务,用中文作答。

Therefore, “Incorporating multimedia in teaching is always the most effective method” is not a universally true statement.23.The following sentence is an example of which tense?A. Simple PastB. Present PerfectC. Past PerfectD. Present ContinuousAnswer: D. Present ContinuousExplanation: The sentence “The students are playing soccer in the school field right now.” u ses the present continuous tense to describe an action that is happening at the moment of speaking.24.Which of the following words is the correct past participle form of the verb “begin”?A. BegunB. BeggingC. BegD. BeggedAnswer: A. BegunExplanation: The past participle form of the verb “begin” is “begun.” It is used in perfect tenses and passive voice. For example, “The task has been begun by the students.”25、Which of the following words has a different pronunciation for the underlined part?A. bookB. cookC. lookD. foodAnswer: D. foodExplanation: In options A, B, and C, the underlined letters (b, c, l) are all pronounced as /k/ when they are followed by ‘oo’ in British English, resulting in the sound /ʊk/. However, in option D, the word ‘food’ ha s a different pronunciation for the ‘oo’ combination, which sounds like /uːd/. Therefore, D is the correct choice as it does not follow the same phonetic rule as the other three options.26、Choose the sentence that correctly uses the passive voice.A. The book was read by John.B. The book read by John.C. The book reads by John.D. The book reading by John.Answer: A. The book was read by John.Explanation:The passive voice is formed with the auxiliary verb “be” plus the past participle of the main verb. In this case, the correct form is “was read,” which indicates that the action (reading) was done to the subject (the book) by the agent (John). Options B, C, and D do not use the correct structure for the passive voice, making A the only correct answer.27.The following sentence contains a misplaced modifier. Which sentence correctly fixes the error?A. Walking across the street, she accidentally stepped on a nail.B. Accidentally stepping on a nail, she was in a lot of pain.C. She accidentally stepped on a nail, which was on the street.D. She stepped on a nail, accidentally, and it hurt her foot.Answer: CExplanation: The correct placement of the misplaced modifier “accidentally” is after “stepped on a nail” to clarify that the action of stepping on the nail was accidental. Option C correctly fixes the error by placing the modifier in the correct position.28.Which of the following sentences is a fragment?A. Walking down the hallway, the bell rang.B. He was late because he had to take an extra class.C. She spoke with enthusiasm, her voice filled with excitement.D. The book, written by Jane Austen, is a classic.Answer: AExplanation: A fragment is a group of words that could be a complete sentence but lacks a main verb or is incomplete. Option A is a fragment because it is a participial phrase (“Walking down the hallway”) that acts as a dependent clause and cannot stand alone as a complete sentence. The rest of the options contain complete sentences with a main verb and convey a complete thought.29、The verb “inherit” means “to receive or acquire something that was owned by someone who has died” from your __(A) options are:A) ancestorB) ancestor’sC) ancestors’D) ancestorsAnswer: B) ancestor’sExplanation: The possessive form after a verb is often used with “oneself、” or “ones” to show that it refers back to the subject. In this case, “inherit” refers to receiving something from one’s ancestor. Therefore, “ancestor’s”is the correct choice to indicate possession.30、In the sentence “The teacher asked the students to analyze the theme of the novel,” the word “asked” is the past tense of “__” verb.A) askB) askingC) hearD) heardAnswer: A) askExplanation: The given sentence indicates a completed past action, which means the action of asking has already been done. “Ask” is the base form of the verb, while “asked” is the past tense form of “ask.” “Hear” does not properly continue the tense consis tency of the sentence, and “heard” would be the past particle form, not used in this context.二、简答题(20分)II.Short Answer QuestionsQuestion:Discuss the importance of integrating cultural elements into high school English language teaching. Provide at least three reasons why this approach is beneficial and explain how itcan be implemented in the classroom.Answer:Integrating cultural elements into high school English language teaching is crucial for several reasons:1.Enhances Understanding and Appreciation of Diversity: By incorporating materials that reflect the cultures of English-speaking countries as well as other global cultures, students can develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of diversity. This not only enriches their language learning experience but also prepares them to be more culturally sensitive and globally aware citizens.2.Improves Language Proficiency: Exposure to authentic texts and media from different cultures can provide learners with a richer context for language use. It helps students understand idiomatic expressions, colloquialisms, and cultural references that are often key to achieving higher levels of language proficiency. This exposure can make language learning more engaging and meaningful.3.Promotes Critical Thinking and Creativity: Cultural content can serve asa catalyst for critical thinking and creativity. When students analyze cultural practices or compare and contrast their own culture with others, they are encouraged to think beyond surface-level differences and consider the underlying values and beliefs. This process can enhance cognitive skills and foster a more open-minded and empathetic worldview.Implementation Strategies:•Use Authentic Materials: Incorporate authentic reading and listeningmaterials such as literature, films, music, and news articles thatrepresent various cultures. These materials should be age-appropriate and relevant to the students’ interests and backgrounds.•Cultural Activities and Projects: Design activities and projects that require students to explore and present on different aspects of culture. For example, students could create posters about festivals fromEnglish-speaking countries, conduct interviews with native speakers, or organize a multicultural day in the classroom.•Guest Speakers and Field Trips: Invite guest speakers who can share firsthand experiences of different cultures or arrange field trips to cultural institutions like museums, art galleries, or cultural festivals where students can engage directly with cultural artifacts and practices.By integrating cultural elements into the curriculum, teachers can create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that not only promotes language acquisition but also fosters personal growth and social development. This question and answer format aligns with the standards expected in teacher qualification exams, aiming to assess candidates’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical teaching scenarios.三、教学情境分析题(30分)Question: Teaching Scenario AnalysisScenario:Mr. Smith is a high school English teacher who is preparing a lesson on the theme of “Global Warming” for his eleventh-grade class. The class consists of 30 students with varying levels of English proficiency. Mr. Smith has a total of 45 minutes for the lesson. He has gathered the following materials:1.A powerpoint presentation on “Global Warming”2.A handout with relevant vocabulary words and their definitions3.A short video clip showing the effects of global warming4.A set of discussion questions5.A worksheet with comprehension questionsTask:Based on the given scenario, analyze Mr. Smith’s teaching approach and suggest improvements to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.Answer:Teaching Approach Analysis:Mr. Smith’s teaching approach for the lesson on “Global Warming” shows a blend of traditional and interactive methods. He begins with a powerpoint presentation to introduce the topic and provide a structured overview. This approach helps to set the context and deliver key information. Additionally, the handout with vocabulary words and their definitions ensures that students are familiar with the necessary terms to understand the content. The inclusion of a video clip is a good strategy to engage students visually and provide real-life examples of global warming. This approach helps toreinforce the lesson and make it more relatable. Furthermore, the discussion questions encourage students to think critically and share their opinions, which promotes active learning. However, there are areas where Mr. Smith can improve his teaching approach:1.Interactive Activities: Instead of just presenting the information, Mr.Smith can incorporate more interactive activities. For instance, he can divide the class into small groups and assign each group a specific aspect of global warming to research. They can then present their findings to the class, fostering collaboration and active learning.2.Differentiated Instruction: Recognizing the varied proficiency levels among students, Mr. Smith should consider using varied teaching methods to cater to different learning styles. For example, he can provide visual aids or additional explanations for students who may struggle with the vocabulary and concepts.3.Assessment: Mr. Smith can incorporate formative assessments, such as quizzes or exit tickets, to gauge students’ understanding of the lesson and identify areas that require further clarification.Suggestions for Improvement:1.Interactive Group Activity: Assign students to research different aspects of global warming (e.g., causes, effects, and solutions) and present their findings to the class. This will encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and deeper understanding of the topic.2.Differentiated Instruction: Provide additional support for students with lower proficiency levels by offering visual aids, breaking down complex vocabulary, and offering simplified explanations.3.Formative Assessment: Implement short quizzes or exit tickets at the end of the lesson to assess students’ comprehension. Use the results to address any misconceptions or gaps in knowledge.Conclusion:Mr. Smith’s teaching approach for the “Global Warming” lesson is a good starting point. By incorporating more interactive activities, catering to varied learning styles, and implementing formative assessments, he can enhance student engagement and improve learning outcomes.四、教学设计题(40分)Question:You have been tasked with designing a lesson plan for a Grade 11 high school English class that focuses on t he theme of “Dreams and Aspirations.” The lesson is intended to help students think critically, enhance their vocabulary and writing skills, and encourage them to express their own dreams and aspirations. “So I would read my way into the unknown一into the pathless wastes, into thin air, with noreviews, no best-seller lists, no college curricula, no National Book Awards or Pulitzer Prizes, no ads, no publicity, not even word of mouth to guide me.”She is not the first writer to set off on armchair expedition. A. Unlike manybiblio-memoirists, she loves network television and is un-nostalgic about print; in “The Shelf’she says that she prefers her e-reader to certain moldy paperbacks. From 2004 to 2014, the number of children participating in up to three hours of after-school activities on any given day rose from 6.5 million to 10.2 million. And all the while, the kids arebeing fed a promise—that they can be tutored and coached, pushed and tested, hot- housed and advance placed until success is assured. Four yearsof college has been sold as being a golden ticket in the American economy, and to an extent that’s true. But pushing all kids down the bachelor’s path ensures not only that some of them will lose their way but also that critical jobs that require a two-year or less —skilled trades, some kinds of nursing, computer technology, airline mechanics and more—will go unfilled. The challenge for parents is to help their children find the one that’s right for them.Which of the following factors deprives the kids of freedom to do what they love?A、3.5 hours of school assignments set by their teachers every day.B、The educational reforms made by the public schools they attend.C、The growing number of peers taking part in off-campus activities.D、Their parents’unrealistic wish for them to have a promising future.

教师资格考试高级中学英语学科知识与教学能力试卷与参考答案(2025年)

2025年教师资格考试高级中学英语学科知识与教学能力模拟试卷与参考答案一、单项选择题(本大题有30小题,每小题2分,共60分)1、Which of the following is NOT a characteristic of communicative language teaching (CLT)?A. Emphasis on accuracy over fluencyB. Use of authentic materialsC. Focus on meaningful communicationD. Learner-centered approachAnswer: AExplanation: Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) emphasizes the importance of using the language for communication and interaction. It encourages fluency over accuracy, which means that while making errors is seen as a natural part of the learning process, the ability to communicate effectively is prioritized. Authentic materials, a focus on meaningful communication, and a learner-centered approach are all key features of CLT, making option A the correct choice as it contradicts the principles of CLT.2、In second language acquisition, the term ‘fossilization’ refers to:A. The process by which learners acquire grammatical rulesB. The point at which a learner’s interlanguage stops developingC. The initial stage of language learning where vocabulary is emphasizedD. The technique of using physical objects to teach language conceptsAnswer: BExplanation: Fossilization is a phenomenon in second language acquisition where the errors made by learners become permanent and resistant to change. This typically occurs when a learner reaches an intermediate level but fails to progress further, resulting in a stabilization of their interlanguage, which is the learner’s current state of knowled ge about the target language. Options A, C, and D do not accurately describe fossilization, thus B is the correct answer.3、The teacher is about to introduce a new topic in the English class. Which of the following phrases can best be used to engage the st udents’ interest and prepare them for the lesson?A. “Now, class, let’s dive into the depths of this new topic.”B. “Alright, everyone, it’s time to turn the page and explore something new.”C. “Today, we’re going to embark on an adventure through the worl d of literature.”D. “Let’s start by reviewing what we learned last class, and then we’ll move on to our new topic.”Answer: C. “Today, we’re going to embark on an adventure through the worldof literature.”Explanation: Option C uses an engaging and vivid phrase (“embark on an adventure”) that can capture the students’ interest and create a sense of excitement about the new topic. It also clearly indicates the direction of the lesson, which is beneficial for setting expectations and preparing the students for what to expect.4、In a reading comprehension activity, the teacher wants to ensure that students understand the main idea of a passage. Which of the following methods is most effective for this purpose?A. “Find the first sentence of each paragraph and summarize it.”B. “Circle the keywords in each paragraph and then discuss their meaning.”C. “Read the passage aloud and pause after each paragraph to discuss the main point.”D. “Write a one-sentence summary of the entire passage and share it with the cl ass.”Answer: D. “Write a one-sentence summary of the entire passage and share it with the class.”Explanation: Option D encourages students to think critically about the passage and distill its main idea into a concise statement. This method promotes active engagement with the text and helps students internalize the key information. It also allows the teacher to monitor each student’s understanding and provide feedback accordingly.5、Which of the following teaching methods emphasizes student-centered learning and encourages active engagement in the classroom?A、Lecture methodB、Auditory methodC、Interactive methodD、Cooperative methodAnswer: CAnalysis: The interactive method (选项C) is a student-centered approach that encourages active participation and interaction among students. This activity provides real-worldlanguage input and encourages students to engage in meaningful communication, understand cultural nuances, and practice comprehension in an authentic context.7、The teacher is demonstrating a new vocabulary word to the high school students. Which of the following techniques would be most effective in helping the students retain the information?A. Using a direct translation from a familiar language.B. Providing a visual representation of the word in context.C. Asking students to repeat the word without giving any examples.D. Starting a brainstorming session about the word’s origin.Answer: B. Providing a visual representation of the word in context.Explanation: Visual aids, such as showing a picture of the object or situation that the word describes, can help students connect the new vocabulary with concrete examples and incidents. This concrete association is generally more effective in memory retention than a purely auditory or semantic approach.8、Which of the following is the most appropriate method to use when reviewing the structure of a complex literary text with advanced-level English language learners?A. Having students summarize the text in their own words before discussingthe structure.D. Asking students to rearrange the text elements without any prior guidance or explanation.Answer: C. Having students summarize the text in their own words before discussing the structure.Explanation: Reviewing the structure of a text is best accomplished by first having students summarize what they have read. This summarization phase activates prior knowledge and encourages students to engage more deeply with the content. Following this, d iscussion about the text’s structure can be conducted in a way that connects the new information to their personal understanding of the text. This method leads to a more active and meaningful learning experience.9、Which of the following activities best pr omotes students’ communicative competence?A) Completing grammar worksheets.B) Memorizing vocabulary lists.C) Role-playing a conversation at a restaurant.D) Writing a formal essay on a given topic.Answer: CExplanation: Communicative competence involves the ability to use language effectively in real-life situations. The other options focus more on discrete aspects of language learning, such as grammar, vocabulary, or writing, which do not necessarily promote communicative competence.10、When teaching pronunciation, what is a key factor that teachers should consider to help students improve their listening and speaking skills?A) Encouraging students to read aloud texts they have never seen before.B) Focusing solely on the pronunciation of individual sounds.C) Providing authentic listening materials that reflect natural speech patterns.D) Asking students to write down new vocabulary words and their phonetic transcriptions.Answer: CExplanation: To improve listening and speaking skills, it is essential for students to be exposed to authentic listening materials that reflect natural speech patterns (Option C). This exposure helps students become familiar with the rhythm, intonation, and connected speech features of the language, which are crucial for effective communication. While reading aloud and focusing on individual sounds can also be beneficial, they are not as effective in isolation as providing authentic listening practice. Writing down phonetic transcriptions can aid memory but does not directly enhance listening or speaking abilities.11、The teacher is using a visual aid to illustrate the concept of present perfect tense. Which of the following statements best describes the visual aid?A) A timeline showing events that started in the past and continue to the present.B) A series of photos of students from different eras.C) A chart comparing present perfect and present continuous tenses.D) A map showing the progression of a story.Answer: A) A timeline showing events that started in the past and continue to the present.Explanation: The present perfect tense is used to describe actions that started in the past and continue to the present. This helps them understand the overall message and purpose of the text.13、In which of the following works is the character Pip the main character?A. Oliver Twist - Charles DickensB. Great Expectations - Charles DickensC. Jane Eyre - Charlotte BronteD. Wuthering Heights - Emily BronteAnswer: B解析: Pip is the central character in “Great Expectations” by Charles Dickens. In this case, “By Tom, the stone was thrown” is the proper passive voice construction.16、Which of the following sentences correctly uses the past perfect tense?A)She had finished her homework before dinner time.B)She finishes her homework after dinner.C)She has finished her homework every day.D)She will finish her homework before it’s too late.Answer: AExplanation: The past perfect tense is used to describe an action that happened before another past action. In this question, the sentence refers to an action (finishing homework) t hat happened before “dinner time.” The past perfect tense construction is “had + past participle,” hence “had finished” in option A is the correct choice. Grammatical competenceB. Sociolinguistic competenceC. Strategic competenceD. Discourse competenceAnswer: EExplanation: Canale and Swain’s model of communicative competence includes grammatical competence (knowledge of vocabulary, morphology, syntax, semantics, and phonology), sociolinguistic competence (understanding of how language use varies according to social context), strategic competence (ability to compensate for lack of knowledge), and discourse competence (ability to connect sentences together coherently). The correct choice is not listed among the options, but if we assume that ‘E’ represents an option not given, it would be the correct answer by default. However, if this is a mistake and one of the listed options is supposed to be incorrect, then the question needs to be reviewed.18、When designing a lesson plan, which of the following steps should come first?A. Identifying learning objectivesB. Selecting teaching materialsC. Planning assessment methodsD. The other options use incorrect tenses: A uses the present continuous, B uses the past perfect, and C uses the future continuous.20.Choose the word that best completes the sentence. The teacher_______the students to participate in the discussion actively.A. encouragesB. discouragedC. discouragingD. will encourageAnswer: AExplanation: Option A is correct as “encourages” is the correct form of the verb to use in this context, which means “to inspire or motivate someone to do something.” The other options do not fit the context: B is the past tense of discourage, C is the present participle, and D is the future tense of encourage.21、Which of the following best describes the relationship between a thesaurus and a dictionary?A、A thesaurus provides synonyms for words, while a dictionary offers definitions and information about words.B、A thesaurus lists homophones, while a dictionary provides synonyms.C、A thesaurus and a dictionary are both conduits for personal expression.D、A thesaurus and a dictionary are interchangeable tools for writing.Answer: AExplanation: A thesaurus is primarily used for finding synonyms and related words, while a dictionary provides definitions and other information about words, including their etymology, pronunciation, and usage. These tools serve different purposes and are not interchangeable.22、Which层面的理解方式最能体现阅读活动中的深度对话与批判性思维?A、表层理解B、中层理解C、深层理解D、超层次理解Answer: CExplanation: Deep understanding (深层理解) refers to a comprehensive and critical interpretation of a text, including its themes, symbols, and underlying messages. The other options, while useful for building specific skills, do not directly promote the interactive and communicative aspects of language learning.26.In the context of teaching grammar, what does the term ‘form-focused instruction’ refer to?A)Teaching grammar rules as a separate subject without integrating them into languagepracticeB)Focusing solely on the accuracy of pronunciation and intonationC)Integrating attention to grammatical forms within the context of meaningfulcommunicationD)Encouraging students to learn grammar through trial and error without explicitguidanceAnswer: C) Integrating attention to grammatical forms within the context of meaningful communicationExplanation: Form-focused instruction is an approach to language teaching that involves drawing students’ attention to grammatical features during meaningful communication. Alongside the tote bags you can find T-shirts, magnets, and buttons printed or sewn with covers of classic novels; the Web site Etsy sells tights printed with poems by Emily Dickinson. A spread in The Paris Review featured literature-inspired paint-chip colors. The merchandising of reading has a curiously undifferentiated flavor, as if what you read mattered less than that you read.In this climate of embattled bibliophilia, a new subgenre of books about books has emerged, a mix of literary criticism, autobiography, self-help, and immersion journalism: authors undertake reading stunts to prove that reading—anything—still matters.“I thought of my adventure as Off-Road or Extreme Reading,” Phyllis Rose writes in “The Shelf: From LEQ to LES,”the latest stunt book, in which she reads through a more or less random shelf of library books. She compares her voyage, to Ernest Shackleton’s explorations in the Antarctic. “However, I like to sleep under a quilt with my head on a goose down pillow,” she writes. “So I would read my way into the unknown一into the pathless wastes, into thin air, with no reviews, no best-seller lists, no college curricula, no National Book Awards or Pulitzer Prizes, no ads, no publicity, not even word of mouth to guide me.”She is not the first writer to set off on armchair expedition. A. J. Jacobs, a self-described “human guinea pig,”spent a year reading the encyclopedia for“The Know-It-All: One Man’s Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in theWorld”(). Ammon Shea read all of the Oxford English Dictionary for his book “Reading the OED: One Man, One Year, 21, 730 Pages”(). In “The Whole Five Feet”(), Christopher Beha made his way through the Harvard Classics during a year in which he suffered serious illness and had a death in the family. In “Howard’s End Is on the Landing”(), Susan Hill limited herself to reading only the books that she already owned. Her best book is “Parallel Lives” (1983), a group biography of five Victorian marriages. (It is filled with marvellous details and set pieces, like the one in which John Ruskin, reared on hairless sculptures of female nudes, defers consummating his marriage to Effie Gray for so long that she sues for divorce.) Rose is consistently generous, knowledgeable, and chatty, with a knock forconnecting specific incidents to large social trends. Unlike many biblio-memoirists, she loves network television and is un-nostalgic about print; in “The Shelf’ she says that she prefers her e-reader to certain moldy paperbacks. The alphabet has no rationale, agenda, or preference.20、What can be inferred from Paragraph 1 about the author’s opinion on reading?A、What really matters is the fact that you read.B、An emphasis should be placed on what you read.C、The merchandising of reading can boost book sales.D、Reading as a serious undertaking should not be merchandised.21、Why does Phyllis Rose compare her reading to Ernest Shackleton’s explorations in the Antarctic?A、To emphasize the adventurous and stirring experience of reading.B、To emphasize the role of reading in broadening people’s horizon.C、To emphasize the amusement in reading without specific guidance.D、To emphasize the challenges in reading books of varying categories.22、Which of the following is closest in meaning to underlined phrase “human guinea pig”in Paragraph 3?A、A person used in experiments.B、An uneducated person.C、A lazy person.D、A vulnerable person.23、Why is Rose considered a good instance to manifest “extreme reading”?A、People’s interest in reading needs to be inspired.B、Most people do not know what they should read.C、She knows how to relieve her mental suffering via reading.D、She has special personal traits needed for “extreme reading”.24、In what sense is the arbitrary classification of books considered to be impersonal?A、It brings about surprises.B、It fails to track readers’ habits.C、It ignores the content of books.D、It fails to consider reader’s preferences.答::[['D'],['C'],['A'],['D'],['A']]21、If you have got kids, here is a nasty truth: they are probably not very special, that is, they are average, ordinary, and unremarkable. The kids are paying the price for parents’ delusions. In public schools, some students are bringing home 17.5 hours of homework per week or 3.5 per school night and it’s hard tosee how they have time to do it. From to , the number of children participating in up to three hours of after-school activities on any given day rose from 6.5 million to 10.2 million. And all the while, the kids are being fed a promise —that they can be tutored and coached, pushed and tested, hot- housed and advance placed until success is assured. It’s also the sweat equity that comes from agonizing over every exam, grieving over every disappointing grade—becoming lessa guide in a child’s academic career than an intimate fellow traveler. Itcan be fulfilling for kids to chase a ribbon, as long as it’s a ribbon the child really wants. The challenge for parents is to help their children find the one that’s right for them.Which of the following factors deprives the kids of freedom to do what they love?A、3.5 hours of school assignments set by their teachers every day.B、The educational reforms made by the public schools they attend.C、The growing number of peers taking part in off-campus activities.D、Their parents’ unrealistic wish for them to have a promising future. What are parents supposed to do to alter the current educational system?A、To pay for their kids’ education.B、To take up all the household chores.C、To provide guidance to their children.D、To push their children to excel at exams.According to the author, which of the following perceptions should parentsadopt concerning their kids’ education?A、They should be their kids’ companions on their journey to academic excellence.B、They should realize the fact that most children would remain mediocre despite their wills.C、They should feel relieved if they don’t have to pay for their kid’s off-school art lessons.D、They should be their kids’ career director rather than help them find a right path to walk on.What does the underlined word “one” in the last paragraph refer to?A、Race.B、Length.C、Challenge.D、Outcome.答::[['D'],['C'],['B'],['A']]22、根据题目规定完成下列任务,用中文作答。

Pruning involves the cutting away of overgrown and unwanted branches, and the inexperienced gardener can be encouraged by the thought that more damage results from doing it unnecessarily than from leaving the tree to grow in its own way.First, pruning may be done to make sure that trees have a desired shape or size. The object may be to get a tree of the right height, and at the same time to help the growth of small side branches which will thicken its appearance or give it a special shape. Secondly, pruning may be done to make the tree healthier. You may cut diseased or dead wood, or branches that are rubbing against each other and thus cause wounds. The health of a tree may be encouraged by removing branches that are blocking up the centre and so preventing the free movement of air. One result of pruning is that an open wound is left on the tree and this provides an easy entry for disease, but it is a wound that will heal. Often there is a race between the healing and the disease as to whether the tree will live or die, so that there is a period when the tree is at risk. It should be the aim of every gardener to reduce which has been pruned smooth and clean, for healing will be slowed down by roughness. You should allow the cut surface to dry for a few hurts and thenpaint it with one of the substances available from garden shops produced especially forthis purpose. Pruning is usually without interference from the leaves and also it is very unlikely that the cuts you make will bleed. If this does happen, it is, of course, impossible to paint them properly.21. Pruning should be done to__________.A. make the tree grow tallerB. improve the shape of the treeC. get rid of the small branchesD. make the small branches thicker22. Trees become unhealthy if the gardener__________.A. allows too many branches to grow in the middleB. does not protect them from windC. forces them to grow too quicklyD. damages some of the small side branches23. 2025年教师资格考试高级中学学科知识与教学能力英语试题及解答参考

2025年教师资格考试高级中学英语学科知识与教学能力复习试题及解答参考一、单项选择题(本大题有30小题,每小题2分,共60分)1、题干:The teacher used a variety of teaching methods to engage students in the lesson. Which of the following is an example of a direct teaching method?A)Group discussionsB)Role-playingC)Project-based learningD)Flashcards答案:D解析:选项A、B和C都是间接教学方法的例子,它们鼓励学生通过互动和合作来学习。

而选项D中的“Flashcards”(闪卡)是一种直接教学方法,通常用于帮助学生记忆词汇和事实,教师直接展示信息,学生通过重复练习来学习。

因此,正确答案是D。

2、题干:In order to assess the level of English proficiency of the students, the teacher decided to conduct a ________.A)oral testB)written testC)portfolio assessmentD)peer review答案:B解析:选项A的“oral test”(口语测试)和选项D的“peer review”(同行评审)通常用于评估学生的口语能力和批判性思维能力。

因此,正确答案是B。

3、Which of the following statements about the use of authentic materials in an English language classroom is NOT true?A) Authentic materials can increase students’ motivation.B) Authentic materials should be used exclusively to ensure language accuracy.C) Authentic materials provide real-life context for language learning.D) Authentic materials can help bridge the gap between the classroom and the outside world.Answer: BExplanation: While authentic materials are incredibly beneficial for language learning, they do not necessarily guarantee language accuracy on their own. Teachers often need to adapt these materials or supplement them with structured activities to ensure that students grasp grammatical structures and vocabulary accurately.4、In the context of teaching reading skills, which activity would be LEAST effective in promoting critical thinking among high school students?A) Asking students to summarize the main points of a text.B) Encouraging students to compare different perspectives presented in multiple texts.C) Having students identify the author’s purpose and biases.D) Instructing students to list facts from the text without analysis.Answer: DExplanation: Listing facts from the text without any analysis or synthesis does little to en gage students’ critical thinking skills. Summarizing, comparing perspectives, and identifying the author’s intent, on the other hand, all require deeper levels of cognitive engagement and thus promote critical thinking more effectively. This section provides a glimpse into the type of questions that might appear on such an exam, focusing on pedagogical knowledge and the application of educational theory in teaching English as a second language.5、The teacher is preparing a lesson plan for teaching the poem “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. Which of the following is the best strategy to engage students in active learning?A)Reading the poem aloud and asking students to summarize the main idea.B)Showing a video clip of the poem being recited by a professional actor.C)Providing a list of questions about the poem for students to answer individually.D)Asking students to write a short essay about their own personal experiences thatrelate to the theme of the poem.Answer: D)Explanation: Encouraging students to write a short essay about their own personal experiences related to the poem’s theme is an effective strategy for active learning. This allows students to connect the content to their own lives, fostering deeper understandingand critical thinking.6、In a high school English class, the teacher wants to assess the students’ comprehension of a short story. Which of the following assessment methods is most appropriate?A) A multiple-choice quiz covering specific details from the story.B)An oral presentation in which students summarize the plot and characterdevelopment.C) A reflective journal entry where students discuss their thoughts and feelings aboutthe story.D) A group discussion led by the teacher about the moral and ethical lessons of thestory.Answer: C)Explanation: A reflective journal entry is an excellent way to assess students’ comprehensionof a story, as it encourages them to think deeply about the content and express their thoughts and feelings. This method allows for individual reflection and can provide insightinto students’ understanding of the story’s themes and messages.7、Which of the following activities is most suitable for practicing students’ listening for specific information in a high school English class?A)Listening to a song and writing down the lyrics.B)Watching a movie without subtitles and discussing the plot.C)Listening to a short lecture and completing a true/false quiz.D)Participating in a role-play conversation.Answer: C) Listening to a short lecture and completing a true/false quiz.Explanation: When the goal is to practice listening for specific information, an activity that requires students to focus on details and facts is most appropriate. A true/false quiz based on a short lecture provides a clear task that checks whether students have understood the key points and details from the audio material. The other options, while they may be valuable for different purposes, do not specifically target the skill of listening for detailed information as effectively as option C does.8、When designing a lesson to improve high school students’ reading comprehension, which of the following strategies would be least effective?A)Pre-teaching vocabulary that students will encounter in the text.B)Asking students to read silently and then answer questions about the text.C)Having students skim the text to get the main idea before reading for detail.D)Instructing students to translate each sentence into their native language.Answer: D) Instructing students to translate each sentence into their native language.Explanation: While translation can sometimes be a useful tool for understanding individual words or phrases, it is generally not an effective strategy for improving overall reading comprehension. It can slow down the reading process and prevent students from developing the ability to understand texts in English without relying on their native language. Options A, B, and C are all recognized strategies that support reading comprehension by building vocabulary, encouraging active engagement with the text, and teaching students to differentiate between main ideas and supporting details.9.The teacher is using a new method to engage students in the learningprocess. Which of the following is a direct result of this method?A)The students are less motivated to participate.B)The students show a decrease in understanding the material.C)The students become more active in asking questions and discussing topics.D)The students’ writing skills improve significantly.Answer: CExplanation: The question asks for a direct result of the teacher’s new method. Option C suggests that the method has the positive effect of increasing student engagement by encouraging them to ask questions and discuss topics, which is a direct result of an effective teaching method aimed at student interaction and participation. The other options suggest negative outcomes, which are not in line with the intention of using a new method to engage students.10.In a lesson on Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” the teacher wants to help students understand the Elizabethan language. Providing a glossary and asking students to translate the playwould directly address the issue and encourage them to engage with the original text. This activity promotes language comprehension and allows students to see the differences between the original and modern English. Options A and C do not directly help students understand the language, and option D would rob students of the opportunity to experience the original language and its nuances.11、In the following sentence, the word “adequate” functions as a(n)___________.A. adjectiveB. nounC. verbD. adverbAnswer: AExplanati on: The word “adequate” in the sentence “The classroom is not adequate for the number of students.” is used to describe the noun “classroom,” indicating its suitability or sufficiency. Passage l.When the Viaduct de Millau opened in the south of France in 2004, this tallest bridge in the world won worldwide accolades. German newspapers described how it “floated above the clouds” with “elegance and lightness” and “breathtaking” beauty. In France, papers praised the “immense” “concrete giant.” Was it mere coincidence that the Germans saw beauty where the French saw heft and power? Lera Borodisky thinks not.In a series of clever experiments guided by pointed questions, Boroditsky is amassing evidence that, yes, language shapes thought. The effect is powerful enough, she says, that “the private mental lives of speakers of different languages may differ dramatically,” not only when they are thinking in order to speak, “but in all manner of cognitive tasks,” including basic sensory perception. “Even a smallfluke of grammar”—the gender of nouns—“can have an effect on how people think about things in the world,” she says.As in that bridge, in German, the noun for bridge, Brucke, is feminine. In French, pont is masculine. German speakers saw prototypically female features; French speakers, masculine ones. Similarly, Germans describe keys (Schlussel) with words such as hard, heavy, jagged, and metal, while to Spaniards keys (llaves) are golden, intricate, little, and lovely. Guess which language construes key as masculine and which as feminine? Grammatical gender also shapes how we construe abstractions. In 85 percent of artistic depictions of death and victory, for instance, the idea is represented by a man if the noun is masculine and a woman if it is feminine, says Boroditsky. Germans tend to paint death as male, and Russians tend to paint it as female.Language even shapes what we see. People have a better memory for colors if different shades have distinct names—not English’s light blue and dark blue, for instance, but Russian’s goluboy and sinly. Skeptics of the language-shapes-thought claim have argued that that’s a trivial finding, showing only that people remember what they saw in both a visual form and a verbal one, but not proving that they actually see the hues differently. In an ingenious experiment, however, Boroditsky and colleagues showed volunteers three color swatches and asked them which of the bottom two was the same as the top one. Native Russian speakers were faster than English speakers when the colors had distinct names, suggesting that having a name for something allows you to perceive it more sharply. Similarly, Korean uses one word for “in” when one object is in another snugly, and a different one when an object is in something loosely. Sure enough, Korean adults are better than English speakers at distinguishing tight fit from loose fit.Science has only scratched the surface of how language affects thought. In Russian, verb forms indicate whether the action was completed or not—as in “she ate [and finished] the pizza.” In Turkish, verbs indicate whether the action was observed or merely rumored. Boroditsky would love to run an experiment testing whether native Russian speakers are better than others at noticing if an action iscompleted, and if Turks have a heightened sensitivity to fact versus hearsay. Similarly, while English says “she broke the bowl” even if it smashed accidentally, Spanish and Japanese describe the same event more like “the bowl broke itself.” “When we show people video of the same event,” says Boroditsky, “English speakers remember who was to blame even in an accident, but Spanish and Japanese speakers remember it less well than they do intentional actions. It raises questions about whether language affects even something as basic as how we construct our ideas of causality.”21. Which of the following is closest in meaning to the und erlined word “accolades” in PARAGRAPH ONE?A. Praises.B. Awards.C. Support.D. Gratitude.22. What can be inferred from PARAGRAPH TWO?A. Language does not shape thoughts in any significant way.B. The relationship between language and thought is an age-old issue.C. The language we speak determines how we think and see the world.D. Whether language shapes thought needs to be empirically supported.23. What is the role of the underlined part “As in that bridge” in PARAGRAPH THREE?A. Reflecting on topics that appeal to the author and readers.B. Introducing new evidence to what has been confirmed before.C. Identifying the kinds of questions supported by the experiments.D. Claiming that speakers of different languages differ dramatically.24. Which of the following has nothing to do with the relationship between language and thought?A. People remember what they saw both visually and verbally.B. Language helps to shape what and how we perceive the world.C. Grammar has an effect on how people think about things around us.D. Science has only scratched the surface of how language affects thought.25. Which of the fo llowing best represents the author’s argument in the passage?A. The gender of nouns affects how people think about things in the world. .B. Germans and Frenchmen think differently about the Viaduct de Millau.C. Language shapes our thoughts and affects our perception of the world.D. There are different means of proving how language shapes our thoughts.请阅读Passage 2.完成第26~30小题。
