功能是运用一般过去时谈论刚刚过去的一些常见周末活动。
这一话题贴近学生们的日常生活，也是继本学期第十一单元后继续学习一般过去时的用法，符合学生的认知结构和年龄特征。
本单元的重点就是用过去时态来谈论同学们周末活动，同时通过谈论周末活动来进一步学习一般过去时态，所以本单元的对学生来说难度不大，也是上一单元的加强巩固课。
