S tep1 Greeting
Teachers and students greet each other before the class.
Step2 Revision
Ask 2 to 3 students to talk about their ways of learning English.
Step3 Lead-in
Do you know what the most popular language in the world is? Yes. It’s English. In this lesson, we will know why English is the most important language in the world. Step4 Presentation
Introduce the subject of lesson 29 and discuss the title of the lesson (A Door to the World) and the Culture Tip at the bottom
Step5. Listening
Play the tape of lesson 29 for students and ask them to listen to the tape a nd do part 1 in Let’s Do It
Step 6 Reading
Ask students to read the text by themselves. The teacher walks around and corrects their pronunciation when necessary.
Step7 Explanation
Explain some difficult points in Lesson 29.
1. Learning a new language can be a challenge. 学英语可能是一个挑战。

learning a new language为动名词做主语。

动词的现在分词形式具有名词的性质,可做主语。

e.g. Travelling makes me relaxed.
旅游让我放松。

2. But it can help you understand culture differences ar ound the world.
但是它可以帮你理解世界上的文化差异。

difference,名词,区别。

形容词为different,不同的;副词为differently,不同地。

e.g. She reads the word differently. 她读的单词不同。

help也常和with搭配,后跟名词或代词,意思相近。
