Awareness of dying enables the patient to have life planning following the principle of autonomy.We should not doubt the justification of telling the truth to the terminal patient, however the efficacy of truth telling should be considered more carefully.Tell the patients the truth, he or she knows it already. If you were on a sinking ship, and you could only save your spouse or your child, who would you save and why?This is a topic never stop to discuss. This question means that who is more important to you. Is your spouse or your child? It is very cruel to make a decision to save which one. If I met this situation, I would not make a decision immediately. But I will jump into the water without hesitation, and save one who is close to me. My husband and my child are equally important to me. If I hesitate for a moment, I maybe lose both of them.。
